On my CT90 forks there is a phillips head screw on the bottom of the fork,which was a lot more difficult to get moving than a regular allen type like all other moto forks ive rebuilt. I guess its not 100% neccesary to undo them to get the fork apart as you show,but to genuinely get them clean it can be a good idea,im replacing them with allen type

Any piece of pipe that slips over the solid fork tube will work as a slide hammer to put in that seal.

Use old fork seal to hit new fork seal in.
