I agree it doesn’t need to be nerved at all but placed on a red box spawn and with no extra ammo but it needs to be that way on casual play so everyone can get used to the new settings on it, I love the Magler such a fun gun to use.
I think there can be two of them on red spawn pads with no reserve ammo. it's not a power weapon and not placed in neutral locations and having one on each team (theoretically) would keep it in the game enough. then tides can turn if one team gets their hands on two. but that means they have to kill for it or play well enough to pick it up on the other teams side. doesn't change the games too much but still provides balance/advantages.
I haven't been playing much multiplayer since the campaign came out, but I did find it to be a very strong weapon in campaign as well. For most of the first 2/3rds of the game I had one on me. Easy to get more ammo as the brutes often use them, and as you've laid out here, a very versatile weapon!

Mangler + BR in Infinite is as dominating as Plasma Pistol + BR in Halo 2. Easily. Although, at this given time, it does not appear the masses are running around with Manglers. Seems like only a small percentage have come to realize it’s potential.

Honestly, I feel we should buff more weapons to get em all a little more balanced. There's many weapons that have great potential, but need a little push in the right direction. The raveger needs a lot of help, I avoid that thing whenever. 👍🏻 The mangler is fun and satisfying, and it's one of the weapons I really like. You also have to be at a close range to use it effectively. Due to the heavy projectile drop and slower speed, it needs leading and compensation for drop and is extremely difficult to use outside mid range. I'd hate to see it just get put in the bottom of the toy box and forgotten. 😔😅
Rn, as it stands, the fact it has 3 shots to kill (be it all body or a finishing headshot) feels weird that you aren't incentivized to even aim for the head. The AR headshot placement is more impactful. Of course it does more damage, so in over-shield situations. weakened enemies, a 1 shot followed by melee, so there is a reason to aim for the head sometimes. But not most of the time. Hoped on Halo Infinite like a week late after my lovely mother pre ordered it months in advance for my b-day opposed to my buds like the one I showed CE when we were 6. Friend mentioned downloaded it from the store and had it immediately. I had to wait days for my hard copy. (of which you can't play when offline, fuck that, but I digress hard.) Played a lil mp first. Gravitated towards the "mauler." When playing the first mission of campaign on legendary, I bonded with the Mauler hard. (It is pretty much what you'll be reliant on most off the bat while on legendary, precision weapons and ammo scarce beyond it. Just like I've grown to always have a Shock Rifle in legendary since it is a necessity, when replaying on mythic w/ friends after solo completion, imagine it will be the same case. Us chaining kills. Is a current fav. It can 1 shot headshot like the 4 rd of 8 sniper rifle, mag size 20 plus 80 in reserve. Beyond chaining kills, splash damage, it has EMP abilities. (The most useful of the shock emp weapons by far.) And yet it seems not too OP. The melee is stronger as well (tho weaker than most all other banished bladed weapons. Between it, the pistol sidekick and BR, def a fav. Hydra default firing mode doesnt get the love it deserves. Plasma caster is complained about by people who dont realize you have to lead your shots and that it is a plasma pistol on steroids. (For medium range, no short. It cant lock on up close.) Do love the AR. Wish the skill gap was widened a bit by making it a necessity to burst tap your final 2-3 shots for a reliable headshot like they finally made the AR in H5. It is more noob friendly now and I understand why that is prob a good thing. I just don't think you should be rewarded by holding the trigger down the whole time till the mag is dumps. There is recoil, why does bursting it not mediate it. H5 AR was perfection for a starting weapon. (for those who want BR starts, that should be in a ranked playlist dedicated to BR and sidekick starts, high capacity sniper power weapon on map too, 16 to 20 bullets instead of 8 please.)
People enjoy using the mangler because its kinda skillful and rewarding . I dont hope that they nerf anything other than its melee dmg for the 1-shot melee combo. That, or just the availability as mentioned in this video. There is already enough br only going on for this game right now imo.
For me the shooting damage is fine! Its the melee for me sometimes i get one hit without any damage before i get melee. Other times its a one shot then melee kill.
If we fuck up the weapons, it'll end up like Halo 5. The DMR is borderline useless in that game with it's weird rate of fire nerf. Extend the respawn time and reduce the mag size to 8. Make it a power weapon and it'll be fixed. Nerf the damage and it becomes another gun to the wayside

Like take Recharge for example, That Mangler downs so fucking often on that map that i think it’s too good. If you think the one shot melee is balanced with the mangler, something is wrong with you. The mangler should either be 2 shot melee or limited to close range engagements with damage drop off at range.

If the pros are concerned about it then just change the settings for competitive. I'm pretty disappointed on how community has become so crystal, all the time complaining about, vehicle, shields, habilites, & bla bla bla bla, the majority wants a game where only them and nobody else could be capable to win, personally I do not think mangler should be nerfed is a pretty fun weapon, to have and to fight against
I wouldn’t say it’s too strong, as long as you can keep your distance and position yourself correctly the mangler shouldn’t be a problem, if it gets up close and personal and u don’t have much of a way to get away from it then yeah you’re kinda fucked. That’s just the way a halo player should always think because you should always know what position you could be putting yourself in, so when it comes to the mangler, just know where the spawns are and call out where the mangler carrier is whenever you can.

for social, just give an extra clip for reserve but still keep it on red spawn pads. that way it gets more use in the social, where people love it.
Also it needs to appear on less maps. Recharge, bazaar and live fire all having it twice is too much

Just nerf the animation time to get it to melee. Makes it take more time to shoot + melee combo. Or change its status to a power weapon pad

8 bullets AND longer respawn is too far the other way IMO. 16 bullets and red respawn (ideally) or same respawn with 8 bullets is best.
