In Honkai Star Rail Welt and Acheron's dialogue straight up talks about the final arc of Honkai 3rd about Kevin, the greatest hero of humanity who turned himself into a "villain" so that the world can be saved. Kevin asked a question: "Why do birds fly?" Some people think birds fly because they like freedom, some think because they have a dream to fly, some think they fly because they can, all these answers assume that birds have the choice and desire to fly. Kevin says, no, birds fly because they have to, if they don't fly, they will die. They evolved wings so that they can escape predators, not because they have the desire to fly, it's because they have the desire to survive. He forced the world to fly, with him as Icarus leading the way, as he got closer to the Sun, the light of hope, he and his comrades burned, leaving behind a burning trail to guide the rest of humanity to hope and freedom. The 13 Flamechasers, the original Trailblazers of Honkai, as Acheron said this man is befitting the spirit of the Nameless, Trailblaze. So why am I talking about Kevin? I'm talking about how he saved the world with his 2 opposing plans, trapping the world in an endless Dream, a Samsara isolated from the outside world in a self sustaining bubble universe. And the other plan, have people in the world oppose this dream and stand up to him with such ferocity, they wake up from the dream, bursting the bubble, becoming mature enough to fly off into the universe and take care of themselves. The Earth of Honkai 3rd faces an eternal cycle of Honkai eruptions which ends in civilisation getting destroyed and tiny groups of survivors spending tens of thousands of years to repopulate the world, this is just like the 4 known cycles of Teyvat. Kevin wants to break this cycle once and for all, by creating a bubble universe from the dreams of humanity, an Imaginary reality sustained by dreams, sort of like Tsukuyomi from Naruto, except all of humanity is sent into a dream space physically to have a sweet dreams forever, but no real dreams will ever be achieved. Sunday's plan was directly inspired by this as well, which is why the entire Penacony arc references Honkai 3rd heavily with Welt and Acheron directly talking about it. Kevin himself does this out of desperation, instead of facing another mass extinction event, he would rather humans be suspended in a dream world and not go extinct. And he knows that this isn't the best solution, which is why he uses this solution to force the protagonists to transcend him, defeat him and his plan. And why would defeating him save humanity from going extinct? Because he merged himself with the Cocoon of Finality, sacrificing himself to gain enough power to create this dream world, instead of having Finality end humanity for another cycle. So he became the brakes to stall Finality long enough until the protagonists become strong enough to defeat him, he Trailblazed this path of hope for others to follow and then allowed himself to burn away. Like Kevin as the Dreamer of this Dream, I believe the Primordial One or whoever it is, is the Dreamer of Teyvat and their goal is to force the inhabitants of Teyvat to have such great dreams, they will one day burst forth from this bubble. This is why Celestia created the Vision system, so that humans can dream so big that they can one day defy Destiny/ Heavenly Principles and gain freedom for themselves. And in order to do this, they have to truly become an obstacle for civilisation, Celestia has to be such an overwhelming force worth defying and overcoming that humanity will reach for the dreams and mature for themselves. Celestia will take on each civilisation with full force, anyone who wishes to over come Destiny will be met with the full power of Celestia, and if they fail, civilisations will be destroyed; They will become ruins and legends for the following cycles to learn from and to sprout even bigger dreams to overcome Destiny. And when Celestia is finally overcome, Teyvat will awaken from this dream ready to fly, face and fight against what ever is beyond.
you make some very good points! i've already noticed a lot of links between kevin's story and HSR's penacony with genshin, but this really sets it in stone with me. i have a feeling they're going to play on it a bit, but i think this is what they're going for!
Also to add in that thought of yours. The Mc is obviously Lucifer not from christian readings of him but of gnostic interpretations. Rather than him tricking Eve to eat the fruit of knowledge to sin, he did so to break Adam and Eve out of the clutches of the false god and to let them leave paradise. With that pretense in mind, Aether/Lumine role is to connect and bond with the people of Tevat. To help them prepare for the truth of the world, to leave the dream aka: To leave "paradise". (This part is speculation so take it a massive grain of salt) It's most likely that the Primordial One is going to be the final boss of sort. Using all our characters from the gatchs as representation of humanity wanting to wake up. It's why the other antagonist that are going against Celestia will inevitably fail, the Fatui only sowed distrust to the people of the nations, since they did cause some pretty big issues in Liuye, Inazuma, and Sumeru. And I wouldn't be surprised if the plot (or one of the plots) of Snezniah will revolve around a revolution against them. And the Abyss Order... Well do even haft to explain that?
I had a weird thought this morning that was whether or not the Sumeru Archon Quest was foreshadowing Teyvat being a shared dream too and now this video drops lol
Rukkhadevata literally said: "Once upon a time, I alone dreamed in this world." "In my dreams, everybody would also dream after they fell asleep." "Wild and wonderful thoughts would emerge from their minds." "Some tumbled to the ground, and others floated to the sky." "Connecting all things in the world into one dazzling net." "Amongst the plethora of worlds were numerous smaller worlds." "All of fate finding within the tapestry their brilliant glow." "I gradually understood that these indescribable and constantly changing things" "Are the most profound things in the world." which means she is the first creature to ever dream in teyvat. then, she realized that these dreams are the basis of this world....
@@huasaihunI feel like she doesnt know about the world basically being one big bubble dream even if though because the knowledge she gives up her gnosis for is that the stars in teyvat are fake and she is genuinely shocked to learn that so she must not know the extent as to what is happening
Woh, ei's line at the end "Waking world you seen, woven from the stuff of dreams, all shall fade away" gave me shivers. I find it highly unlikely that they put it there intentionally to hint at this kind of theory but if they did, this is some Aot level of details and foreshadowing
There's a reason Eternity is closest unto the Heavenly Principles. Fantasy can only be sustained by an underlying reality. Reality is the stillness buried deep beneath the illusion. They've already done even heavier foreshadowing in content older than 2.1, so it would actually surprise me if it WASN'T intentional.
I think this video is spot on, probably really accurate. Many of these ideas were fermenting in my head, but only Ashikai can express them so eloquently and nicely wrapped up. Maybe the most interesting thing of this video is the attempt at discovering what the "main components" of the dream are. We apparently have a dreamer "sustaining" the dream (nice choice of a word there), a tree to drive the fate of the dream using memories, and a sun "harvesting" the dream. I don't know who is dreaming. I suspect that the Teyvat we experience is a re-tell of the past, and the traveler is dreaming. There could be a second, failed dream, dreamed by the Heavenly Principles who is about to wake up. The "sun" could be, or could have been Zhongli. He is just too different and related to the sun. These are all loose hypothesis. An interesting quote by Canotila: "Since memories can be made into books, if we reverse the logic, books can also be written directly into memories..." And who writes books? The Hexenzirkel.
that explains why Wanderer's memories, written in the form of a children's story book, were able to survive his erasure from the world to eventually be given back to him. The knowledge contained within books cannot be so easily erased if the original has multiple copies
This theory isn’t accurate because it’s based on incomplete concepts. This can be very easily proven by how she describes the Imaginary Tree and Sea of Quanta. She describes the Imaginary tree as a “theoretical tree” when it in fact is not theoretical, it’s real. The information on the imaginary tree in Honkai Impact would be more accurate because the characters in that world have firsthand experience with it. The reason it’s only a theory in star rail is because they don’t have that experience with it. As for the Sea of Quanta she describes and refers to it as the memory zone. That isn’t entirely inaccurate, but it’s very different from the memory zone. The Sea of Quanta isn’t a dreamscape but memories are a part of it, your mind isn’t the only thing that goes there, it’s more like an alternate dimension. Your entire being has to go there, body and mind. While you’re there you are subject to the laws of quantum mechanics. Schrödinger went into the Sea and became a quantum superposition, he went in as a man, and he left as a woman. The imaginary tree wants to grow and creates worlds, the sea of quanta wants to drown the tree by removing worlds from the tree and destroying them in the sea. They’re both alive in a way, and the cycle continues forever. As for the theory she implies that Irminsul is an ether anchor. Irminsul would be a good candidate for the base of Teyvat so I don’t see problems there. The problem is that she doesn’t understand what a bubble world is. A bubble world isn’t a dreamscape, it’s a world as real as our own. The conclusion of her theory is that the primordial one wants to turn the dream into reality, that literally does not work with the way bubble worlds function because they are already real. That would be akin to taking it out of the sea of quanta and putting it on the imaginary tree. My knowledge isn’t complete either, there’s also a lot of world building concepts in Honkai 2, but those are the most glaring issues I found with Honkai 3 as a base.
@@RavenUwU605 thanks for the thorough explanation. I have almost zero knowledge of lore of Honkai and how the sea of quanta works. But I have read about others comparing the sea of quanta with the void/abyss and so far it seems that there is not 100% correspondence between the two. As for the real intentions of the Primordial One (make the "dream" become real) I agree it would be the weakest part of the theory, because we know almost nothing about the Primordial One and the mechanics of creating the world. The only source we have is a scribe from Enkanomiya so we only have the human perspective with whatever information Istaroth decided to share. But I am inclined to agree that there is a definite difference between the current "dream-like" status of Teyvat and what it could potentially become. Maybe saying that "it will become real" is not the best way to express it because it implies that it isn't real. I would say that Teyvat is real enough to matter, as the people are living real lives and experiencing real feelings inside. I would say that the current Teyvat requires a dreamer to function and there is will imposed upon the fate of Teyvat, so there is potential to give the inhabitants the power to control their own fate.
@@nwoDekaTsyawlA about Teyvat requiring a dreamer. I didn’t touch on Ether Anchors too much, but basically an Ether Anchor is an object/person that the world is attached to. One of the ways a bubble world can form in the Sea of Quanta is by various things latching onto an Ether Anchor. Some bubble worlds are just memories being replayed on loop, but in one of the Honkai visual novels there was a bubble world formed by an ether anchor that became its own independent world. Ether Anchors give bubble worlds a longer lifespan than those formed by gathered memories, but their lifespan is still finite. The Ether Anchor in what she described would be Irminsul. One thing I do think is possible is that beings and objects from the sea are being drawn to Teyvat. Which would be problematic as that means we’re kind of reaching the end of Teyvat’s lifespan. I do think that with some significant revisions a plausible theory similar to hers could be made, but again, it would require a better understanding of how Hoyo structures their universe and the worlds inside it. You can’t take a a partial understanding of half of the hoyo’s world building and fill in the other half with a similar concept from Star Rail. A somewhat unrelated thing, but one of the first things she says is that she’s drawing concepts from other hoyo games, as in Star Rail and Honkai Impact, and then follows up by stating it’s not because she thinks the games are connected. But… they ARE connected. About a week before Genshin came out the Honkai Impact 4.2 livestream happened , in the trailer you can see Otto Apocalypse looking through the Sea of Quanta and on the monitor he’s using you can very clearly see Teyvat and Dvalin, this scene is also present in the game’s story. On this stream there was an interview with the CEO of hoyoverse and when asked about this and its relation to Genshin Impact he stated that all Hoyo games take place in the same universe and at the same time. Welt in Star Rail is also the exact same Welt present in Honkai Impact. EDIT: I was incorrect about the scene with Dvalin showing up in the 4.2 reveal trailer. The scene is present in the 4.2 Battlesuit trailer for Fallen Rosemary. My bad. The scene is 40 seconds into the trailer.
When you mentioned erosion, I thought, in the context of this theory, the origin of erosion becomes much clearer : in a dream, you generally remember only most recent memories, so maintaining old memories for a long time is one of the challenges that the dream faces. It's a dream on steroïds; but it has limits nonetheless and there is a point when things gradually decay from ordered memories to chaotic unmaintained information, people and things erode to madness.
Is this related to HSR’s Mara? It’s a madness that the Xianzhou people can fall to. But it’s not because of their physiology; one of them said that anyone that lives long enough can trigger Mara. Long-lived beings just have a greater opportunity to get it. One of the oldest characters there drinks forgetting juice, to slow this effect down.
29:31 If this is true then I think this is the reason for the traveler's entire journey to begin with, the purpose of their journey is to bear witness to everything in the world and learn as much about it as possible so as to reconstruct it when they "wake up"
Everything you said about the chaotic sea of Memories/Memoria/Elemental Energy perfectly fits with the description of The Sea of Quanta. The other side of the coin of the Honkai Universe. Where The Imaginary Tree is Order, The Sea is Chaos in every sense of the world, able to be easily influenced by anything it comes in contact with and can act as an Observer. And the Sea of Quanta is filled with Bubble Worlds that are small pockets of Order that though various means managed to prevent themselves from being swallowed by the Sea.
@@eh9618 *Mars though the latest chapter Dreamseeker doesn't get to talk to some of the old main cast on the Moon. (Trying not to give spoilers because they are big ).
THANK GOD SOMEONE SAID IT I'm so tired of people ignoring Honkai lore all the time, it's a vast amount of context and information that could be very useful to understand what happens in genshin and HSR and NO ONE USES IT. The games ARE connected, it was stated by Hoyoverse, there's no need to push away all that could be gained from it. Hell, HSR analysis are going to need Hi3 lore going forward because Welt and Void Archive and now Acheron are here.
i love the idea that an enclosed amount of primordial seawater left alone for a while would naturally give birth to dragons… kind of like what happens if you put water and soil from a river in a jar, algae and plants and small animals start appearing
What I find really interesting is that none of major events of each nation doesn't affect other nations at all, like completely, like Fontaine for example got completely submerged and given its vertical position, most other nations would have to be also submerged because that is how water works, yet it seems only Fontaine was affected by it and none of them even comment it, like it didn't happen. Same for all other events, no one besides in Mondstadt talks about what Dvalin was doing, it is as if he never crossed the border with other nations, which is weird. Every nation's story is weirdly localized that no matter how grim or devastating events happen, other nations are in no way affected at all which makes no sense, unless each nation is like a bubble world on its own, they are all in a larger bubble but they themselves cannot affect other bubbles. And Natlan is the best example of it, as until the end of Fontaine we at most had crumbs of information and nothing major has seeped beyond its borders. This would also explain why Melusines, Aranaras, Youkai and so on only exists in one nation, because they are only a part of that nation's bubble world and no other one
What you said about remembering the dream gave me a huge flashback to Zhongli's second story quest. To quote: "I need to find a better way of recording history in order to engrave its truth. [...] Therefore, I thought of you, Traveler. You are one who crosses the celestial atlas, and who passes through countless worlds. If our history is engraved in your memory, it will one day accompany you into another world. As long as a Traveler like you is able to record what happened, then a backup of sorts will exist for times and tides of Teyvat." Make of that whatever you want, but it fits perfectly into the theory.
@@HydroTobio I think he and Venti are original Archons and therefore know the truth, or more of it anyway. I think considering the rest of the Archons have successors, they don’t have the full breadth of what all’s going on… I bet the fact that their two elements are static in their reactions, could be symbolic of their primitiveness. They both only react with The Four Transformatives in basic ways. Anemo can swirl The Four… and Geo can crystallize The Four. The Four can interact with each other differently because their Archons are the next generation. I’m guessing the reason Cryo doesn’t resonate with Dendro now, is because Tsarista cut herself off before Kusanali was born. So at one time, all of the elements could transform and react with each other. Now that they’ve been segmented… their abilities/properties evolve with each generation of say Buer for example!
The fact it's called a dream "Solvent" implies that the crystallized dreams can be dissolved and then reconstructed into the same thing but in a different form. Similar to how water is a solvent of salt, you can evaporate water to get the exact same salt, but it's just in a different form than what you put in the original.
@@alexanderericson8628 You got your reference wrong. Havria was the god of salt. Guizhong (who it's commonly theorised was romantically involved with Zhongli) was the god of dust.
What if teyvat is actually the underground nation and khanriah is outside? That would explain why they have their own sun and moon and the "endless abyss" is just space or a nebula in space. Meanwhile the stars in teyvat are rocks and thats why no human knows about "the dome", because there isnt one because teyvat is actually underground. This also tells us that Irmynsul isnt actually upside down, its Teyvat itself which is inverted
a theory like this existed before (i dont remember the specifics) but basically its because in the abyss spire, the closer we get to the abyss is by going up instead of going down
Dude i think you are on to something, i have thought the bubble of fake teyvat is inside Khanriea (however u spell it) and outside the fake sky is the ruins of that civilization which was caused by a god, and set god then created a lil fake bubble to make people ignore the reality outside the bubble or matrix. Thats why the god controls literally everything. And khanreia is the actual real world trying to overthrow the god that destroyed them. Not sure how the abyss comes into play here, if they are actually evil or not
This is pretty similar to the pet theory I’ve believed for a couple years now. It’s always been kinda fuzzy on the details, but I believed that the Primordial One was tasked with preserving the memory of a people, found a suitable planet, and “planted” Irminsul as the core of a sort of pocket dimension where the memories of said people could “live”. However, since all the people of Teyvat are really just memories given form, they can’t really do anything unexpected, their fates are predetermined, literally written in the stars, like a prewritten program. Descenders are the only ones who can defy fate, because they are the only ones with a will strong enough to rewrite the program. It’s notable that right at the beginning of the game, the Traveler doesn’t have a constellation, it’s not until they make contact with the Statue of the Seven that they gain their own constellation. It’s also interesting that each of the Archons’ constellations reference their state as Archons, but none of them began life as Archons, so it would seem that attaining that rank literally changed their constellations, their programs were rewritten.
This honestly makes a lot of sense, especially given the upcoming event with origami birds (dragons) losing their color (their life). I thought it was originally about saurians losing their original forms, pyro dragons, as most, if not all, seem to be connected to another element plus Pyro. That's why there are only six, not seven, so perhaps it refers to both. Either way, this video is great timing because I was thinking yesterday that if they are gonna do that "it was all a dream", they could at least make the dream reality to make it hit less hard for us players.
I also think that it being a dream is immaterial, so long as everyone remembers it. The First Sage went on his entire pilgrimage in a dream and used that experience and knowledge gained to help the “waking world” (or whatever he considered to be his waking world). The things that happened in Penacony’s dreamscape were all meaningful, no?
My unfiltered unpeer-reviewed thoughts after this theory is... what if the traveller's original world (the one teyvat the dream bubble is based on) was a part of the star rail universe? What if hoyo planned for the finale of genshin's teyvat chapter, where the dream becomes reality through the traveller, coincides (in irl time) with an arc in star rail where a dead world suddenly returns to life? Would be massive if this planet is somehow also important in the big script of star rail. Would be hell to manage between the two games though, so this is probably not happening
@@RavenUwU605While that may be true, it wouldn’t be good narrative design to intertwine the plots of different games with different target audiences and core engagements. A bit of crossover marketing, little Easter eggs or call-outs, is fine, but making the lore of one game require knowing the lore of a completely different game is bad marketing. Especially when the two products have vastly different aesthetics (high fantasy vs sci-fi). So, like Ashikai says, HoYo will tend to repeat certain themes or concepts, but is unlikely to directly connect the stories of different games. It’s also possible to have asymmetrical canon, meaning that Genshin may be canon to Star Rail, while Star Rail is not canon to Genshin.
@@TheCheeseman1983 fair enough. However, that’s unfortunately already the case. Her theory has a ton of holes in it because she doesn’t understand what the Imaginary Tree and Sea of Quanta are and how they interact with the cosmology of the universe. She puts a lot of effort and research into her theories and a lot of the time she cooks, but she just doesn’t have a deep enough understanding of how worlds are structured.
This was a really amazing video. The idea that Teyvat is all a dream seems ridiculous at firstz but you explain how that could be the case so well that, at least for now, I'm definitely on board with this theory!
Even if I don't play HSR (I don't have enough space for it) I understood everything. It might be because I'm HI3rd player and a lot of stuff is also in this game. But finally someone said it. Primordial sea and Abyss isn't sea of quanta, but part of Teyvat that is a bubble universe (dream) in the world of Honkaiverse. The thing outside of Teyvat bubble dream is sea of quanta. In this theory Teyvat is really similar to bubble universe Sa has created Where there are little Vitas that are also guardians of that place. There are also 7 of them, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue and Purple. That also is the colors of the light and seven elements. In part 2 of the Honkai story we have 7 shus. They are like guardians that controls shadows to protect their world. In genshin we also have 7 sovereigns, dragons who guard the Teyvat. 7 Archons who guard the Teyvat after dragons. So in any way the bubble universes has to have 7 pillars (guardians) that protects their world of any bad things. Like you said the Primordial one came and changed the laws in Teyvat. It is very similar to Sa who also changed the rules in different worlds. Or Dr Mei that also managed to slighly change rules on Earth. The thing is that Honkai Impact is a game that takes place in earth and getting to know the Honkai from earth perspective, while Honkai Star Rail is a interstellar pov to the same concepts. Since Teyvat is a bubble universe and in fact that isoleted they do not have the name Honkai as a conpet that exist. They think of it as a energy source, elemental energy, abyssal and pneumo and ousia energy. Okay light can be split into 7 individual color of light, light is also an energy source. The 3rd descender's remains were split into 7 gnosis representing each color (elemental energy). So my theory: The first descender created Celestia to be a light that splits into 7 elements to fill in after the dragons. Since to have different lights you have to split it, he had to split either himself or other descender to achieve it. He had done it to the 3rd descender. Since elemental energy is honkai that means that descenders are in fact embodiment of Honkai, like Herrshers. And If we know that Heavenly Principles looks like HoV Kiana, probably she's like HoV a Herrsher and might be the first Descender. That means that descender's are of something similar to Herrshers that are embodiment of Honkai energy. Acheron is similar to them also. (At least past Acheron idk how emanators work) The Herrshers can also be made. Kiana is a perfect example, she was made to become the Herrsher Of Finality. Seele was also made a Herrsher in the sea of quanta. So it's perfectly possible to create a descender. That's what the in Khaenri'ah were doing. Creating a descender, a herrsher, a being that can control the elemental energy, the honkai, the power from beyond. So yeah I think that's it I don't know if it's a god theory but that's another matter. If genshin impact is part of Honkaiverse then Honkai must also exist somewhere in Teyvat, probably named different. Thank you for reading it to the end if you had read it, and I wish you a great day.
Okay, about half an hour ago I was a firm believer Teyvat is a HI3's bubble world inside The Sea of Quanta protecter by some sort of barrier (or anchored to a real world through, for example, Celestia -- a these are basically only 2 ways to stabilize a bubble universe from imminent destruction: you either protect it by a barrier of anchor it. And, again, parts of the body of the 4th Descender --> Archons... --> anchors? And in HI3 there was a case of the bubble world beind anchored to a single person, but there she lived in the real world which kinda isn't the case with 4th Descender since his body parts are inside the bubble already), all that "false sky stuff", and all the people who came from beyond its borders are here to save themselves from catastrhophies in their own worlds or just to get a place to be powerful in lol. Or, as we know from HI3 Part 2, bubble worlds can be created to, as it was mentioned in the video, to transfer some parts of the real world that's being destructed by something to Quanta space and so temporarily save it. An interesting thought... maybe. But a memory bubble in the sea of memoria seems... damn, it's basically the same concept, HoYo's freakin' doin' it again haha. Well, it seems really interesting, UNLESS all that "dream" stuff isn't just a teyvatans' understanding of "reality" and "Quanta spaces". I mean, many peole said to be able to travel to other worlds. Skirk, Alice, Descenders... is it really possible for Alice, who said to be traveling between worlds while being a Teyvat native, to do this is Teyvat is a memory bubble? But it certainly is if Teyvat is a bubble world. Well, I guess we'll know soon enough... relatively... probably... if ever.
Do you know what you made me think about with that idea that people going in Teyvat to save themselves from some world destruction? About how, in Kingdom Hearts, Traverse Town is essentially the same thing, a safe place for people whose worlds have fallen into Darkness. There's even Dream Drop Distance, with the Dream version of Traverse Town with more people and parts of the town, maybe from before Sora arrives in it in 1, and him and Riku solving the Twewy cast's problem would make the town parts unique to 3D go away before the events of 1. Maybe you don't know what I'm talking about, but that's just a fun parallel to make and it's for Kingdom Hearts fans who would see this
@@clemente3966 , yeah, I only know that Kingdom Hearts exist and mixes JRPG anime characters and Disney somehow. :D But yeah, an interesting parallel indeed.
Only 4:16 minutes in, but the whole dreams and truth/falseness thing from the last namecard brings to mind something that's sometimes said about fiction: that it's finding truth in a lie. As in, the people and places and events in fiction are made up - false - but they are trying to say something true - about the world, people, your experiences, etcetera. It ties in nicely with the witches and stories and Wolfy going "just because it was a dream, does it mean it wasn't true"
Love the theory! Not sure if it’s gonna end up being correct but this theory DOES tie up all these loose ends very nicely. It even makes sense why the dragons can keep resurrecting them infinitely if they’re essentially memetic entities. They’re made of memoria and will always reform because they’re fundamental to the dream bubble. If that memoria can’t escape the dream bubble when its current form “dies” it’ll just reform into something new. And Neuvillette being able to remember a few things about his past life makes sense as well, since it’s also possible that not all the memoria gets rearranged, and some can land intact in the new form. It would make Neuvillette similar to Mikhail and Misha, with the previous dragon being Mikhail and Neuvillette being Misha. Only in this case, the previous dragon was also a memetic entity, not just the remnants of someone’s consciousness copied by the memoria. Also, Scylla is pronounced Silla. Not skiila.
>Aranaga: "It's a living memory, a "remembrance, Nara calls it.[...]." >*Looks at Fuli and the Path of Remembrance* Hm...my brain is thonking.... Btw, from what I remember, Geshin is connected to the other games, even if its only as part of the cosmology. You can even see Dvalin in one of the in-game main story HI3 cutscenes(where Otto is looking at various worlds with the 2nd Divin Key, Cosmic Juggernaut), and the devs even mention it in one of their official youtube videos. Tbh though, considering the context of where you see the Dvalin cutscene in HI3, I thought that Teyvat was actually a bubble world in the SoQ, but then there's this dream bubble theory...so who knows for sure? (I mean, we'd know for sure if we somehow visited Teyvat in HSR or something, lol.) Btw, a couple of things I want to mention: 1. The [Imaginary] for [Imaginary Tree] doesn't come from [imagination], but rather [imaginary numbers]. The original Chinese call it [Tree of Imaginary Numbers] or [Imaginary Numbers Tree], and it just got localized as [Imaginary Tree]. 2. The [world of the material] and the [world of the immaterial] are both part of the [Imaginary Tree] as far as I can remember? I never really got the impression from anything that the [world of the immaterial] was separate from the [Imaginary Tree]....

Is that the reason why the hydro dragon was reborned into a human form? All the vishaps evolved into human forms as well so that they could survive and maintain their lifeforms when the inevitable happens? Kinda makes sense! I feel like Neuvillette is no longer human nor dragon, he became more like someone who can see beyond the dream-like state of this world. No wonders he tells the traveler to "Break the shell" and "not to worry" as he would be waiting for him there ... That was some sussiest lines from him.. Lmao..
I’m so happy that my king will survive this chaos 🤧 some other comments thinking that he’s gonna die when the game has made it very clear that he won’t 🤣
It said that Orobashi tainted the bloodline of the hydro vishaps, so much that the next hydro dragon will be born as a human. and people started flocking to kokomi coz her title means sleeping dragon but its actually neuvillette.
@@antelopeishere ah no actually it goes on like this. The hydro dragon will be reborn. And Orobashi's main goal was to stop that from happening completely. He wasn't trying to *taint* the bloodline per say.. you could say it's a prophecy similar to Fontaine's. The third slate shows Furina being judged. Even Neuvillette couldn't understand it properly, but no matter what everything went exactly as it was foretold. So Neuvillette being born as a human was prophesied in the very beginning itself. Orobashi helped it occur unknowingly. Just like how we (the traveller and others) helped out to put Furina in a trail not knowing that we are fullfilling the prophecy line by line.
@@Rue_Elpis777 But he did though. His experiments ended up being the reason that the hydro dragon and the hydro dragon alone, could no longer be born from his bloodline. Whether that was his intention or not doesn't matter. He (Orobashi and Enkanomiya) was responsible.
I had this theory ages ago based off of the travail teaser "The Dream yet to be Dreamed" and Tsurumi island story (lots of dream references in it) and Rifthounds of all things back in 2.2. Some rifthound descriptions for example: Golden wolflord: "One can only wonder: what dreams might be woven from the sharp claws and fangs of these hidden beasts? And what impulses drive them to invade this world?" All rifthounds: "A beast with monstrous blood that is capable of eroding the boundaries of the world." electro rifthound whelps: "The previous eras, when giant monstrous beasts descended, large swarms of these hounds would go before them to deliquesce the borders of the world and open the way." Basically saw it as the border of dream and reality with Teyvat as the dream, which is a little different from this, but considering how much Sumeru then expanded on the "border of dream and reality" and dreams it just made the theory even stronger while penacony gave some more details later of what it could mean.
Oh, great Ashikai. I know that terminology from HSR is easier to access, so the analogies are easier to understand. But maybe it's worth remembering the good old Honkai Impact 3rd? For example, "planetary-scale dream bubble" perfectly matches the project "Stigma" from HI3rd. On top of the Project "Ark", but so far without direct proof. Although the number of parallels and coincidences, and added at different times over the years, is just big. Also, "under the Chasm" quest...
You put this out right before the summer event... and the summer event has 3 toy solder philosophers, and at one point it asks us to ponder what is more real between reality and dreams. Great job!
I may be weird but your brain rot is my fuel and keeps me thinking, analyzing, and scrutinizing and I adore it so much. Thank you for this video. It was super fun and gives me more to think about such as "why are there demons(?)/Archons(?) being allowed to help stabilize the dream?"
And Baptists etc being abyss fueled beings.. The flood was meant to erase the Nephilim yet Nephilim were created after the ark.. It's almost like a reversal of the Noah mythology.. kinda like Angel's Egg.. also I loved how the beginning of this theory was something I have believed for a long time now but the latter half was amazing and as Ashikai put it, I had a bunch of it in my head too but she articulated it perfectly..
You've made several videos about Teyvat's structure and status as an artificial world, and they always made sense to me, but Teyvat actually being a dream recreation of the Twins' original destroyed homeworld is exactly the explanation I've been waiting to hear, but didn't have the lore knowledge to put together myself. I've commented several times about how bizarrely compatible they are with the weirdness of Teyvat. The Sustainer's confrontation with them, and accusation that they are representatives of mankind's greed, despite supposedly being aliens to Teyvat. Their ability to handle elemental energy, despite appearing to not use it before and not knowing much about it, but by the time they fight Childe, having a possible line where they muse about regaining some of their original power despite not yet demonstrating anything like what we saw in the opening cutscene. Their ability to effortlessly purify corrupted memories and energy. Their ability to commune with the leylines and use the teleport waypoints. So much stuff that didn't seem to make sense if they were actually aliens. The Khaenri'ans held them in such high regard, too. For a civilization that rejected Celestia and the gods to then turn around and revere a being from beyond the stars is pretty damn notable. "To us, you WERE the Abyss..." is a pretty important statement, even more so if you're right. My interpretation was that they were actually originally from Teyvat, but that they were perfected homunculus', given false memories by their Khaenri'an creators in order to manipulate them. My justification was Albedo's findings with his little experiment with the potion, and then lying about said findings, saying there was no sediment left over like there was when he took the potion himself. This makes the Khaenri'an homuculus project even more important, because if Albedo's physical make-up is similar to the twins, then that means that Rheindottir and the other Khaenri'an alchemists were using chemia not to create humans, but to create Nephilim, the rulers of the original Teyvat. The fact that several of those failures turned into powerful, rampaging dragons like Durin and Elynas was always pretty telling that there was more going on then we knew, but with this new context, that raises whole new questions about what dragons in Teyvat actually are. If the twins really are Nephilim, the dominant race of the original version of Teyvat, that squares away basically every issue that I've had with the world building in this game. It also gives a potential explanation for the what and why of the Primordial One. They could very easily be another Nephilim who came to reclaim Teyvat, to re-shape it into the world that they knew and drag it back into the physical plane. Just as Neuvilette and the other Sovereigns consider Celestia and the Archons to be usurpers, a Nephilim who discovered a re-created Teyvat and found a whole new race of dragons as the dominant species could think the same of the Sovereigns. It wouldn't be a fair accusation to levy against the dragons, seeing as they were born of this new version of Teyvat, and per my previous paragraph could be even more than that, but no one has accused the Primordial One of being just in their actions. My only question now regarding the twins is this: Why does the Traveler not realize where they are? The Traveler seems to still not consider Teyvat their home, despite the connections they've made and how involved they are with the deepest secrets of the world. The fact that the flower of their home (that Lumine even wears in her hair) is the 'Inteyvat', and they are now... in Teyvat... What's with the disconnect?
Because they clearly still have memories of their actual homeworld, and that homeworld does not resemble Teyvat. We tell Venti that the skies in our hometown were the same color as his eyes (so green skies), we also have voicelines with Paimon telling her that the kind of alchemy they witnessed on other worlds was different from the one here on Teyvat. A MUCH more simple explanation for the twins affinity to the elements is that them, and Phanes, come from the same destroyed world. Meaning they would also be the same race as Phanes. That way, they don't have to be from Teyvat at all. The sea of flowers at the end is also likely created by Phanes in the likeness of the flowers which were once growing on its planet, whatever that planet was. None of the theories are perfect, but having memories of the cosmos, of stars being born and dying, seeing different planets with their siblings, all being fake would make me drop a massive 1* rating on the game. I would haaaaaaaate that.
And as another point, the sibling, despite reaching the end of their journey and learning the truth of the world, tells us in the first dain quest that we can't leave YET. That *yet* should really be emphasised here. If this was truly their homeworld, they wouldn't say that we are going to leave anyway eventually. Our siblings are essentially immortal trailblazers, recording the rise and fall of civilizations in the Universe they travel in. That's how I see them. To put it another way, they aren't looking for a place to settle. If that were the case, they likely would have never even reached Teyvat.
@@rolo1178 You have some points Also omg same, if all of this good memories the siblings talk about and had toghter in the other world were fake, I would hate that so much.
@@nicolas._.2294 keep in mind many players forgotten Genshin is still a narrative within the Honkaiverse, together with its parent/sister titles HI3 and Star Rail. Though it's partly due to the writers/developers using different mediums in a repeating story/theme, and trying not to confuse their players too much. Though it's obvious that HI3 and Star Rail players will notice the connection as long as they pay attention to the lore.
The formatting of your videos are always so good, and everything ties so well together. Whether these theories are plausible or not, they're always so fun to watch!!
I love the Zelda music you play in the background of these videos. I tend to put on your theories when my dad's around and he says the music is part of why he likes your channel so much. :)
There's a youtuber called My Name for Now that has talked about a relation between Angel's Egg and Teyvat's world, that it is inside an "egg" for a while. Just sharing 😂
If you watch it as the film ends and they zoom out you see that the place the little girl and the man were is an upturned arc in the dark sea, the city it takes place in is on the hull of the arc. In this place "people" in this place (aside from the girl and man) chase fish in the form of shadows as if chasing phantoms the people were once at war with these fish but they all sunk to the bottom (lost).
I read the Little witch and the undying fire aswell in which Octavia, O, explained that the universe beyond the fake sky was dying. Stars were going out and she didn’t know how much time was left. Maybe the Primordial One created this dreamscape shell in order to protect this world from dying, like you said as an arch.
I think you hit the nail on the head with this one. I've been semi theorizing, or really just looking at a bunch of separate floating thoughts in my head, for a while now and they all line up with this explanation
oh wow this is my favorite theory youve made EVER i have so many threads on different ways this theory could impact paimon, traveller, snezhnaya's storyline, and places like remuria---but i cant put them into words yet!! the main thing im thinking right now is that-- forbidden knowledge would be knowing that the world is a dream and understanding there is a "real world outside." succumbing to forbidden knowledge could mean that the people just went crazy knowing that they technically arent "real." or possibly even gaining memories of powers beyond the firmament that directly clash with the power that the sustainer is using to hold the memory bubble in place ••small tangent but i think the name Sustainer of Heavenly Principles itself is proof of this theory. she is sustaining the memoria of the destroyed world--- keeping everything together with a strict set of rules or "principles" to prevent the inhabitants from realizing reality is fake it would make sense why the sustainer has to put an end to any attempt at overthrowing the dream's "fate", since it would basically destroy the entire world [which implies SO MUCH ANGST and is rlly exciting] i also think that the traveller is different from other descenders because they have previous ties to the now-destroyed original planet. they are the "loom" that can reweave the memoria of the old world with the new "dreams" from the dream bubble--susinctly saving their homeplanet and preserving the living beings that are being created in the dream. in terms of the sustainer's powers, celestial nails, the curse of the wild, etc: the nails definitely seem to be some sort of cleansing device, used to basically wipe the memory of the area hit, and erase any "forbidden knowledge"---or just memory of the old world---from existing. thus, keeping the dream bubble from imploding in the same way, khaenriahns may be cursed to turn into monsters the second they enter teyvat so that they cannot reveal the secret of the world to the dream's inhabitants. celestia knows they wont be able to fully eradicate forbidden knowledge and previous memory, so they keep it under wraps this way. this theory rlly adds new perspective to every faction in the game because they all have genuine reasons to be doing what theyre doing the sustainer is just trying to keep the old world's memoria together, using any method possible. she doesnt want all the life previously present to be lost to space and forgotten. and she is 100% in her right to do so and you can also understand why khaenriah was trying so hard to escape, bringing descenders down and attempting to create Wills in order to get to a free world. they are also 100% in their right to want freedom and to be a part of a real world all of the factions that perished while creating looms, or coming across the truth of the world: remuria, narzzissenkreuz, deshret's civilization, byakukoku, etc. they were in their right to learn and try to escape, but the sustainer was also right to prevent this from happening theres so many morally grey areas its beautiful. okay i think i typed too much so if you read to here, congratulations 😭😭 maybe i should attempt my own lil video essay
unrelated to genshin--- but if ZZZ also follows this path i could see it being very similar to a "Wreck it Ralph" theory i had previously about genshin--- which honestly still somewhat holds up but in a more metaphorical way. i dont think itll go scifi anymore with like fate being code and such, but i do think the power to create fate and save memoria is somewhat similar to how a computer or game file would work.
This means Teyvat is actually a Bubble Universe/Bubble World in the Sea of Conciousness or in Hi3 they call it the Sea of Quanta, in Honkai Impact 3 Bubble World is a world that has been destroyed in reality and fall into the Sea of Quanta, every Bubble Worlds are unstable except for Bubble Worlds that has something called "ETHER ANCHOR" that can stabilize the Bubble World (or as you said keep things in ordered, because Sea of Quanta is a disordered space) and prevent it from collapsing. Ether Anchor has many form like a crystal, a willow crown, and even a literal heart, every single one of them has its own ability like tearing a space, making barrier, or even freezing everything instantly. From what you said that Irminsul Tree is the Anchor that keep things in ordered which i assume that Teyvat Ether Anchor is Irminsul Tree. If what you said is true that Teyvat is The Ark and Primordial One trying to preserve life until its time for the dream bubble to hatch (come back to reality) then its gonna be hard... Because someone already tried and He failed miserably, in the Captainverse event of Honkai Impact 3 the antagonist tried to save a collapsing bubble world because something called "the Pointer" tried to pop this world's bubble, he eventually managed to defeat the Pointer and imprisoned it but the world keeps collapsing, his only choice was to return the bubble world back to the tree (back to reality) and to do that he need to collect the necessary amount of Ether Anchors from other bubble worlds (this will destroyed the other world because it cant be stabilized if it didnt have its Anchor), in the end He sacrificed everything, even his own companions just to safe this one bubble world, but He still failed, and coincidentally this person name was "FERRYMAN" because he boarded a spaceship called Hyperion. I remember some of the Ferryman lines from the event: "Why.... Why...." "I have repelled them again and again. How come the situation has never been turned around?" "What a miserable fate this world has! So bleak and so hopeless." "No its not true. Nothing is predestined. There must be a way." "As long as i can return the bubble universe to the tree, the world is sure to remain stable." "To achieve that, i need... I need more Ether Anchors." --- "No... No... I cant do this" "To take the Ether Anchors in other worlds and to destroy these people, these are not mutually exclusive goals. We want to become heroes who rescue the world, no?" "Like Noah and the ark in the story, we shall lead everyone to a new world." Great video!!! I have goosebumps all over my body throughout the video! Because its remind me with Captainverse so much and the Ferryman 😭😭😭
I personally don’t think so because he has a human form now, and that’s the “evolution” that is needed to exist in reality, I think. Plus, nothing from the archon quest or his story quest gave any death flags (for now 😷) and he seems content with being human and existing alongside humans.
@@KayleeDavisBlueBoxHaha I had the same reaction too but then I remembered, “Oh wait, he’s human now” and went back to normal 😂. Plus one of his teapot voice lines said that once the egg shell (Teyvat) cracks he would be waiting for us outside 😉
Man Ashikai, you need to look into the lore of Honkai Impact 3rd. You basically just described the Elysian Realm and now I'm sitting here thinking the Primordial one is going to be this worlds version of Elysia.
Head hurts a bit now, but I loved listening to this. I was thinking I might be disappointed if it’s a dreamscape, but having it explained this way makes that idea seem very cool. I also think this lines up with well since using a world as an “ark” has some precedent in HI3, though I have been quite confused in Parts 1.5 and 2 lol
I always wondered if there is a connection between the ice of rememberance in hsr and the cryo element in genshin. After this video i think there could be one! The cryo archon is said to be about "Love". And what else is love, than to "keep someone in your heart and mind", to say, "to remember someone".
Holy damn my head hurts, had to replay a few parts in order to fully understand this theory but damn it was good. Keep cooking Ashikai, you really are onto something here and I want to see where your mind will take it
Great theory overall, best one yet. If you look at all the motifs that dendro vision users have use it's very "programmed" computer images, that little dragon guy with kinich is just pure emogi displayed in teyvat. Since irmunsul is the dendro roots of the world it's the "computer" that creates the "reality" of teyvat. The loom of fate is basically making a competing computer. The dragon king went outside the bubble to get forbidden knowledge which was a direct way to override the "programming" of the the bubble world of teyvat. Forbidden knowledge is written in a different computer language (or it's even a real computer virus) that teyvat residents cant understand but it still affects their "reality" So theres a possibility a new POWER will come from this new irmunsul like computer "loom of fate" and we'll get characters that can wield this power.
sooooo perhaps what the sustainer says to us in the beginning could point more towards her meaning that it's time to push forward the dream to realty, that 'farming humanity's will'' could be the "arrogation of mankind" that she references? Like she's guiding us into some grand plan for the Primordial One maybe and that's why she's disappeared for so long is that she's stuck 'sustaining' everything so that we can set things forward much like we're a piece on a grand chess board?
The part about Khaenri'ahns knowing about the dream and having means of travelling through time is particularly interesting if we look at Kaeya. Every time we meet him, he's like "oh, what a coincidence" or "it must be fate". But what if he has information about where the Traveller would be because he either 1) can traverse time himself; or 2) he is interrogating the Abyss Order (mages and the like) to get information about our movements. I think the latter is more probable, since so far it seems like he doesn't have much of abyssal powers (at least at the moment). It would explain his interest in the Order's hideouts and why he avoids revealing his level of involvement with them. Also, the first time we meet him, he asks if we're a "new ally or a new storm". And what is a storm to a (primordial) sea but chaos? If we have the ability to make this dream "real" and Khaenri'ah/the Order wants Teyvat to take a certain "shape" (or they just have their own vision of its future), I think keeping an eye on someone who might mess up their plans is valid. Maybe his father left him in Mondstadt because he knew (again, time travel) that we would first arrive there, so he could monitor us. Moreover, he mentions the Traveller having the power to go up against a dragon, which is suspicious on its own (elemental dragons? Nibelung? Khaenri'ahns as half-dragons?). This is probably stretching it too far, but I can't help thinking about this man every time Khaenri'ah gets mentioned. And Mondstadt with its association with time and death specifically is looking really suspicious once again. (Certainly would be the best place to fight the final battle of an "ending dream")
This is a great theory! I mentioned in a comment 2 years ago that I thought the slavic goddess Marzanna could be an inspiration for the Tsaritsa. What's interesting is that her name can be tied to dreams, as "marzenie" means dreams in Polish. She is also tied to the idea of rebirth (specifically in the context of winter to spring, and struggling to thriving), which reminds me of your theory, about making a dream to reality!
I cant wait for your video about Simulanka. Dont go below if you havent played Day 2 of Simulanka, this goes for you Ashikai and anyone else reading. When I got to Constellation Metropole I finally... ...realized the whole Simulanka story is a summaruzed version of Teyvat story. The city of Constellation Metropole is supposed to be Celestia. The Goddess of Prophecy is supposed to be Istaroth. The king of Constellation Metropole who "descended in a meteor shower" is the Heavenly Principles, the first descender. The evil dragon is the Abyss or Forbidden Knowledge. Idk yet who are the Goddesses of Creation and Fate supposed to be. Maybe the three goddesses are the Moon Sisters or three of the shades. I believe whoever threw us in Simulanka is a member of the Hexenzirkel (as is the case with all Summer limited areas) and this means the Hexenzirkel or at least some members are aware of the truth of Teyvat or at least a big part of it. My assumptions might be wrong here and there so feel free to correct if you've noticed something I missed in Simulanka.
So does this imply that the crimson moon is "The Primordial One" The people of kanreiah used to worship and revere it and only stopped after looking beyond the sky The crimson moon is an eye that watches over teyvat untill the fall of the CM dynasty then it closed like an eclipse Going to sleep Like the Celestia is currently asleep One more thing the traveler is alone at the end which may imply thier sibling was lost before they arrived in teyvat and the abyss sibling is just a dream manifestation of the traveler's lost sibling But we will be able to bring them back through the words of dain reweave the threads of fate
This video got my brain to do the juicy things. So teyvat is a dream being ordered from the chaos by celestia. The chaos still exists outside of its boundaries and is eating away at the border, which is being sustained by the heavenly principles. We, the twins, even encounter “the sustainer of heavenly principles.” At the border to teyvat, upon which we are separated, our powers are taken, and we get split up by a 500 year long stasis. Right now the biggest taboo in teyvat is bringing in information from the outside, not just because that information is dangerous to the status quo, but because it is literally dangerous and chaotic energy, so it has to be ordered first. Normally that energy would be ordered by the heavenly principles, but they’re busy keeping the division between teyvat and the chaos active and healthy. Meanwhile the travelers are bringing in energy from the outside (by virtue of being, you know, from the outside) and so they get swatted down. The gnosis, which are formed from a descender, also maintain a connection to the outside, able to draw in and order the chaotic energy on a smaller scale, hence why mora contains a catalytic element and morax doesn’t get weaker every time he creates new mora. The tsaritsa is collecting the gnosis because she needs to draw in as much chaos as possible from the outside, either to crush the heavenly principles under its weight, or because she needs to create some sort of vessel or construct that rivals the world which is likewise made of the seven elements (although the hydro gnosis being broken could put a wrench in this plan.)
A reminder that Azdaha's form was hand-carved by zhongli using a chisel! This could mean that zhongli was simply drawing fanart on Azdaha, whereas the original geo sovreign might have looked more sluggish in form. We don't know
But now it makes sense why the Primordial One is sleeping, no longer in control of his imagination but instead dreaming the world, not being able to interfere. Because his will is no longer so strong
This is a really interesting theory!! I don't quite understand all of it nor do I know if I'm completely convinced that this theory is true, but it is nontheless very interesting and I absolutely love watching these theories And I don't know but I for some reason connect the imaginary tree and imaginary theater together (not as the same thing), it's probably just because of the names but still. This is maybe a stretch, and i'm not the best at making theories and/or speculations but maybe the imaginarum theater is also somewhere near the "border" of the world or near a place where the bubble is unstable. It says it's a space suspended between fantasy and reality, and maybe this mirrors Teyvat's construction, if it is a dream world that is. So Teyvat is the dream in this case and then the reaity is the real world outside of the bubble. It also says it was built by a certain witch which granted mere fantastical stories a different life, from what I've heard the twins planet was destroyed, this also makes me think about the primordial one, if she was the one who made the Teyvat dream world then maybe she wanted to grant the remains of the old planet into a new one even if it was merely a dream, hoping to be able to bring it into reality eventually. I just couldn't help but feel that the imaginarium theater's construction maybe mirrors how Teyvat is, if it is a dream world. Wolfy also says that the space the theater is "before the story begins and after the story ends", which he also says is why people have all the time to do whatever they want. The primordial one, if she made the Teyvat dream world, then she also maybe had "all the time" to build this world before she would try to make it into reality. Then again this is just a spectulation, so I don't know, but it was really fun to think about lol
Haven't watched the video quite yet but from the intro alone this nicely fits with My Name For Now's video titled "How Hoyoverse are hinting that Teyvat is a Dream | Genshin Impact & Honkai: Star Rail Speculation"
I wanted to congratulate Ashi for taking the time to include all the missions that contain spoilers in the video in the description. Sometimes I want to watch a game theory video but I end up not watching it for fear of having something about some mission I haven't done yet
Welp, this is for me the most believable theory, which would pretty much explains everything (and is coherent with every hint we've been given so far). Food for thoughts on Khaenri'ah : Khaenri'ah was a nation without gods, and if we consider the previous theory about the Gnoses 'focusing' the faith of the people of each country, it means the 'faith' of the people of Khaenri'ah wasn't going anywhere specific. What I want to say, is that if an entire country was 'free' of believing, they might have been destabilizing the dream bubble, and inviting the unstable memoria in (thus ending up existing between the stable and unstable zones, on the edge, as you theorized in this video). The Sustainer would have consider that a grave danger to the continued existence of Teyvat, thus ordering the Archons to basically kick them out of the bubble : this would have been the Cataclysm of 500 years ago, and the 'monsters' could be the unstable memoria that could have slipped in during the process. I'm very curious to finally see all the details fall in place though. Thank you for the video !
Dragons ceasing to exist could also be extended to the natives of Teyvat. Like the Oceanids, this could explain the Focalor's desire to become human. After all Egeria's justice was existence.
All life comes from the Primordial Sea. At least for pertaining to Fontaine. So I don't think that's the same. I don't get the sense that Vishap disappear just because they come into contact with the Primordial Sea like oceanid.
speaking of Hebrew, every Hypostasis is named after a Hebrew letter. they mostly go in order- 1. א Aleph (Electro), 2. ב Bet (Anemo), 3. ג Gimmel (Geo), 4. ד Dalet (Cryo), 5. ה He (Hydro)- but then Pyro skips to the 16th letter, ע Ayin. then Dendro is ז Zayin, which is the 7th letter. the 6th letter, ו Vav, is skipped over. I always found it odd that Pyro broke this ostensible pattern. then we get to Natlan, and[spoilers] another pattern is broken when the Traveler cannot resonate with the statue and assume Pyro form [/spoilers] the Hypostases are made of elemental energy, and I find it interesting that they chose Hebrew letters, considering that the name Teyvat also comes from Hebrew. might be worth revisiting, I haven't thought about the hypostases in a long time
Also, I'm pretty sure Nahida suggested that the entirety of teyvat is a dream in the sumeru archon quest. It went something like "perhaps the entirety of the world was one big samsara all along", or something along those lines.
Wonder if a miHoYo Lore Master ever watched one of these videos and either got surprised at how accurate it is or laughs at how inaccurate it got. Every video simply makes so much sense. It is so addicting to watch.
It now gives meaning to the Traveller's journey, to KNOW the current Tayvat and its world/people to bring it back into reality. I still feel like Istaroth (or the mechanism of fate) is the one weaving fate and keeping the dream alive. I think Ei and Makoto were aware of this and Ei erected the Statue of the Omnipresent God as a reminder of this truth. But because Makoto was the first Archon of her nation and knew the secrets of the Visions, she didn't pass that knowledge on to Ei before she died. Thus Ei literally doesn't know how they work. Also maybe why the Electro Vision stopped during the year of Civil War... Ei clocked out and actively stopped listening to her people because she didn't believe in their rebellion. She didn't believe in her people. Not knowing that she is the conduit to asking for Electro vision. The Archons act as the conduit but not the GRANTER. The voice Wanderer heard in his Vision story still taught me.
Can I just say, I super love your videos. I have a love hate relationship with them. On one hand I love hearing your theories and presentation is excellent, on the other hand I try to avoid them for fear of spoilers. But here we are. Thanks for what you do!
interestingly, one of those named black serpent knights in the chasm says "O guest from the false land, it is time to face the truth" when he sees you, so yeah I'm pretty sure Khaenri'ah is outside of the dream. That also kinda explains why they didn't worship the gods, since they would also just be a part of the dream world
This theroy reminds me of something. There are these things in HI3 that are called the "bubble universe", essentially worlds that are too weak to form a complete universe or got destroyed by the Honkai, free floating in the sea of quanta. This is really similar to Ashikai's description of dreams, because the worlds in HI3 is essentially wovening from the same quantum and imaginary matters that are records of life. And these bubble universes can't exist in the sea of quantum forever, for they will eventually sink to the bottom. Unless...there is something to "anchor" it. Now if we delve deeper into HI3 lore there is this thing that is Durandel's VN. Little have read it in the English community because it never got translated into English. To sum up the plot real quick, Bianka (i.e. Durandel i.e. the "real" Kiana) had a mission in the sea of quanta and landed on one of these world bubble. While traveling the world she is able to help the people of this bubble world to fix their problems relating to the Honkai, with the help of the "Holy Sword", Durandel. Eventrually the root of the Honkai disaster is severed but the world becomes too unstable to exist. So she anchors the bubble world within her own body using the holy sword, and the world can essentially continue exist if she is still there. Tyvat, in many ways, is similar to this bubble universe in construct. the geography doesn't make sense, there are holes everywhere that allows you to go through it, etc. Even if they are not the same thing, it is way too similar to not think that Mihoyo writers like this trope so much that it makes into a lot of motifs in their games. And one more thing about the holy sword. Remember the Narzissenkreuz quest where Rene wants to forge the "Holy Sword" that is essentially a construct of will so he can become a decender? Then is it fair to think that one of the most defining qualities of a decender is the ability to wield something akin to a construct of will? Then, when the journey does end, when the will of the entirety of Tyvat is wielded by the Traveler, would the ultimate goal be that she/he to anchor the existence of Tyvat with themselves?

This is a great theory to frame the world of Teyvat so far and I'm totally on board. "What is fate but absolute inescapable order" is a very compelling thought.
11:40 I remember when there was concept art leak flood year ago and there were also old concept arts for Azdaha - one of them was Diplocaulus - an extinct amphibian from carboniferous So it links here too
I would also like to add that in Raiden Shogun's character demo, at the end she very ominously says "Waking world, you are woven from the stuff of dreams. All shall fade away"
Something similar actually happens in honkai impact 3rd part 2 where a world that was about to be destroyed falls from the imaginary three (the real space) into the sea of quanta (memoria) and while the real planet gets destroyed, it's people and reality get coppied into unstable bubble universes on the sea of quanta
I just realized that the "Fantastical Blessings" use that exact same concept! The initial cast of characters to accompany us in Imaginarium Theater, which is kind of like fantasy, or the "not real world" are also characters that receive a buff OUTSIDE of the Imaginarium Theater for the time being. Which means the fantasy world of the IT merges with the actual world of Teyvat. This is a simulated example of what you were trying to tell us for the scope of Teyvat itself. Did they do that on purpose to ease us towards that exact concept for the future?
This, with some plot twists.
you make some very good points! i've already noticed a lot of links between kevin's story and HSR's penacony with genshin, but this really sets it in stone with me. i have a feeling they're going to play on it a bit, but i think this is what they're going for!
This is exactly what I think since I've heard about Kevin! And Penacony added to that theory.
(This part is speculation so take it a massive grain of salt)
It's most likely that the Primordial One is going to be the final boss of sort.

Rukkhadevata literally said:
"Once upon a time, I alone dreamed in this world."
"In my dreams, everybody would also dream after they fell asleep."
"Wild and wonderful thoughts would emerge from their minds."
"Some tumbled to the ground, and others floated to the sky."
"Connecting all things in the world into one dazzling net."
"Amongst the plethora of worlds were numerous smaller worlds."
"All of fate finding within the tapestry their brilliant glow."
"I gradually understood that these indescribable and constantly changing things"
"Are the most profound things in the world."
which means she is the first creature to ever dream in teyvat. then, she realized that these dreams are the basis of this world....
OMG- I HAD THE SAME THOUGHT

@@IAMDEMIURGEdo u know how much her theories were right lol
An interesting quote by Canotila: "Since memories can be made into books, if we reverse the logic, books can also be written directly into memories..."
And who writes books? The Hexenzirkel.
Crack theory: the person who is dreaming is the Pale princess
that explains why Wanderer's memories, written in the form of a children's story book, were able to survive his erasure from the world to eventually be given back to him.
29:31 If this is true then I think this is the reason for the traveler's entire journey to begin with, the purpose of their journey is to bear witness to everything in the world and learn as much about it as possible so as to reconstruct it when they "wake up"
To reinforce the dream by simply experiencing it
While the twin wants to remake it
Everything you said about the chaotic sea of Memories/Memoria/Elemental Energy perfectly fits with the description of The Sea of Quanta.

Lol maybe if you left it alone long enough. It would become humans eventually.
To quote:
"I need to find a better way of recording history in order to engrave its truth. [...] Therefore, I thought of you, Traveler. You are one who crosses the celestial atlas, and who passes through countless worlds. If our history is engraved in your memory, it will one day accompany you into another world. As long as a Traveler like you is able to record what happened, then a backup of sorts will exist for times and tides of Teyvat."
Make of that whatever you want, but it fits perfectly into the theory.
@SheyyCatt if the world ends, the traveler will be able to restore it as they remember it
i also think we should be asking how zhongli knows all of this, that guy is way too suspicious.
@@HydroTobio I think he and Venti are original Archons and therefore know the truth, or more of it anyway. I think considering the rest of the Archons have successors, they don’t have the full breadth of what all’s going on…
I bet the fact that their two elements are static in their reactions, could be symbolic of their primitiveness.

"Is it because of Penacony?"
Yes?
Wait it's all penacony?
Always has been
Fr penacony changed my life
This is pretty similar to the pet theory I’ve believed for a couple years now.
Every ashikai video should have a pinned comment that says all hoyoverse games take place in the same universe
(At least past Acheron idk how emanators work)
The Herrshers can also be made.
We need to talk about Simulanka ASAP
Not skiila.

Hm...my brain is thonking....
(I mean, we'd know for sure if we somehow visited Teyvat in HSR or something, lol.)
Btw, a couple of things I want to mention:
I noticed that phanes has alot of connections with different paths in star rail, could phanes be an Emanator of different the paths?
@@mitab1 this but maybe the Shades of Phanes follow differents paths too :
_ Phanes = Order/
_ Sustainer = Preservation
_ Death = Nihility
_ the administator(s) of the Irminsul would be a Memokeeper and a Fictionologist working together even maybe with a Cremator
_ Abondance for Life ?
_ Finality for Time?🤔

WOOOOOHH I LIKE THIS
As someone who watched your 1.0+ Genshin world building series, I love how everything that we explored, synthesised, theorised, and extrapolated through that series has been culminated in this video. Of course this isn't the final culmination but the progress...❤❤❤❤
Some rifthound descriptions for example:
Golden wolflord: "One can only wonder: what dreams might be woven from the sharp claws and fangs of these hidden beasts? And what impulses drive them to invade this world?"
All rifthounds: "A beast with monstrous blood that is capable of eroding the boundaries of the world."
electro rifthound whelps: "The previous eras, when giant monstrous beasts descended, large swarms of these hounds would go before them to deliquesce the borders of the world and open the way."
Basically saw it as the border of dream and reality with Teyvat as the dream, which is a little different from this, but considering how much Sumeru then expanded on the "border of dream and reality" and dreams it just made the theory even stronger while penacony gave some more details later of what it could mean.
Thanks for pulling all this evidence together and presenting it coherently, I've been trying to convince my friends of this for over a year. XD
Zhongli's: "I WILL have order!"
has a whole new meaning now.
The last part of the theory about iagination and creating, memories... makes the dude very sus.

I love the characters that you use for the transitions! Faruzan is such a diva
19:37 That book really marked a before and after in theory videos.
@@rolo1178
You have some points
Also omg same, if all of this good memories the siblings talk about and had toghter in the other world were fake, I would hate that so much.
I feel so proud having read The Little Witch and the Undying Fire, recognising the word Nephilim from a video of yours and now you bringing it up :)
I've been semi theorizing, or really just looking at a bunch of separate floating thoughts in my head, for a while now and they all line up with this explanation
oh wow this is my favorite theory youve made EVER
i have so many threads on different ways this theory could impact paimon, traveller, snezhnaya's storyline, and places like remuria---but i cant put them into words yet!!
the main thing im thinking right now is that-- forbidden knowledge would be knowing that the world is a dream and understanding there is a "real world outside." succumbing to forbidden knowledge could mean that the people just went crazy knowing that they technically arent "real." or possibly even gaining memories of powers beyond the firmament that directly clash with the power that the sustainer is using to hold the memory bubble in place
••small tangent but i think the name Sustainer of Heavenly Principles itself is proof of this theory. she is sustaining the memoria of the destroyed world--- keeping everything together with a strict set of rules or "principles" to prevent the inhabitants from realizing reality is fake
it would make sense why the sustainer has to put an end to any attempt at overthrowing the dream's "fate", since it would basically destroy the entire world [which implies SO MUCH ANGST and is rlly exciting]
i also think that the traveller is different from other descenders because they have previous ties to the now-destroyed original planet. they are the "loom" that can reweave the memoria of the old world with the new "dreams" from the dream bubble--susinctly saving their homeplanet and preserving the living beings that are being created in the dream.
in terms of the sustainer's powers, celestial nails, the curse of the wild, etc:
the nails definitely seem to be some sort of cleansing device, used to basically wipe the memory of the area hit, and erase any "forbidden knowledge"---or just memory of the old world---from existing. thus, keeping the dream bubble from imploding
in the same way, khaenriahns may be cursed to turn into monsters the second they enter teyvat so that they cannot reveal the secret of the world to the dream's inhabitants. celestia knows they wont be able to fully eradicate forbidden knowledge and previous memory, so they keep it under wraps this way.
this theory rlly adds new perspective to every faction in the game because they all have genuine reasons to be doing what theyre doing
the sustainer is just trying to keep the old world's memoria together, using any method possible. she doesnt want all the life previously present to be lost to space and forgotten. and she is 100% in her right to do so
and you can also understand why khaenriah was trying so hard to escape, bringing descenders down and attempting to create Wills in order to get to a free world. they are also 100% in their right to want freedom and to be a part of a real world
all of the factions that perished while creating looms, or coming across the truth of the world: remuria, narzzissenkreuz, deshret's civilization, byakukoku, etc. they were in their right to learn and try to escape, but the sustainer was also right to prevent this from happening
theres so many morally grey areas its beautiful.
okay i think i typed too much so if you read to here, congratulations 😭😭 maybe i should attempt my own lil video essay
unrelated to genshin--- but if ZZZ also follows this path i could see it being very similar to a "Wreck it Ralph" theory i had previously about genshin--- which honestly still somewhat holds up but in a more metaphorical way. i dont think itll go scifi anymore with like fate being code and such, but i do think the power to create fate and save memoria is somewhat similar to how a computer or game file would work.
I remember some of the Ferryman lines from the event:
"Why.... Why...."
"I have repelled them again and again. How come the situation has never been turned around?"
"What a miserable fate this world has! So bleak and so hopeless."
"No its not true. Nothing is predestined. There must be a way."
"As long as i can return the bubble universe to the tree, the world is sure to remain stable."
"To achieve that, i need... I need more Ether Anchors."
---
"No... No... I cant do this"
"To take the Ether Anchors in other worlds and to destroy these people, these are not mutually exclusive goals. We want to become heroes who rescue the world, no?"
"Like Noah and the ark in the story, we shall lead everyone to a new world."
Great video!!! I have goosebumps all over my body throughout the video! Because its remind me with Captainverse so much and the Ferryman 😭😭😭
Male twin being named Aether is giving me chills now - Anchor Ether - Ether Anchor?
I just completed Yoimiya’s 2nd Story Quest and it feels VERY relevant with the context of this video
okay but my takeaway from this video: if neuvillette ceases to exist, i WILL cry ugly, ugly tears
I personally don’t think so because he has a human form now, and that’s the “evolution” that is needed to exist in reality, I think. Plus, nothing from the archon quest or his story quest gave any death flags (for now 😷) and he seems content with being human and existing alongside humans.
@@chelseabui2435 yeah, you're right. it's just the first thing my mind jumped to, and it never went anywhere beyond "NOOOOO"
These whole predictions hit the nail with the current Genshin event
Keep cooking Ashikai, you really are onto something here and I want to see where your mind will take it
Yor theories are always fun and interesting, channels like you help me appreciate these worlds more.
Forbidden knowledge is written in a different computer language (or it's even a real computer virus) that teyvat residents cant understand but it still affects their "reality"
So theres a possibility a new POWER will come from this new irmunsul like computer "loom of fate" and we'll get characters that can wield this power.
sooooo perhaps what the sustainer says to us in the beginning could point more towards her meaning that it's time to push forward the dream to realty, that 'farming humanity's will'' could be the "arrogation of mankind" that she references?
I really love this theory because Dain's line "those who dream of dreaming" finally makes sense
YES this is what truly sells the theory for me- it explains that line SO perfectly.
"star-shaped rocks that mess with people's mind" could be a description of primogems
So does this imply that the crimson moon is "The Primordial One"
The people of kanreiah used to worship and revere it and only stopped after looking beyond the sky
The crimson moon is an eye that watches over teyvat untill the fall of the CM dynasty then it closed like an eclipse
Going to sleep
Like the Celestia is currently asleep
One more thing the traveler is alone at the end which may imply thier sibling was lost before they arrived in teyvat and the abyss sibling is just a dream manifestation of the traveler's lost sibling
But we will be able to bring them back through the words of dain reweave the threads of fate
This theory has so much more backing now with the Simulanka quest that happened. You're awesome 👏🏻
me watching this after finishing the Simulanka event and sees some connection to it:
A reminder that Azdaha's form was hand-carved by zhongli using a chisel! This could mean that zhongli was simply drawing fanart on Azdaha, whereas the original geo sovreign might have looked more sluggish in form. We don't know
*honkai impact flashbacks about Kevin, project stigma, the ark, Elysia, Durandal, the bubble universes, samsara, the sea of quanta* 🤯🤯🤯
I was literally thinking about this throughout the video
But now it makes sense why the Primordial One is sleeping, no longer in control of his imagination but instead dreaming the world, not being able to interfere. Because his will is no longer so strong
This is a really interesting theory!! I don't quite understand all of it nor do I know if I'm completely convinced that this theory is true, but it is nontheless very interesting and I absolutely love watching these theories
And I don't know but I for some reason connect the imaginary tree and imaginary theater together (not as the same thing), it's probably just because of the names but still.
LOVE YOUR CONTENT I CANT WAIT FOR WHAT ELSE YOUVE GOT
Welp, this is for me the most believable theory, which would pretty much explains everything (and is coherent with every hint we've been given so far).
Food for thoughts on Khaenri'ah :
Khaenri'ah was a nation without gods, and if we consider the previous theory about the Gnoses 'focusing' the faith of the people of each country, it means the 'faith' of the people of Khaenri'ah wasn't going anywhere specific.
Cook 🔥
I always found it odd that Pyro broke this ostensible pattern. then we get to Natlan, and[spoilers]
another pattern is broken when the Traveler cannot resonate with the statue and assume Pyro form
[/spoilers] the Hypostases are made of elemental energy, and I find it interesting that they chose Hebrew letters, considering that the name Teyvat also comes from Hebrew. might be worth revisiting, I haven't thought about the hypostases in a long time
Also, I'm pretty sure Nahida suggested that the entirety of teyvat is a dream in the sumeru archon quest. It went something like "perhaps the entirety of the world was one big samsara all along", or something along those lines.
I've been dying for you to make a video about the Genshin world structure. Thank you!
If you look down on Ventis statue in Mondstadt (infront of the Church) and look up in the sky, the patterns are the same
Wonder if a miHoYo Lore Master ever watched one of these videos and either got surprised at how accurate it is or laughs at how inaccurate it got.
Every video simply makes so much sense. It is so addicting to watch.
31:20 I KNEW THAT LINE HAD SOME SORT OF SIGNIFICANCE AFTER ALL THIS TIME😭😭😭
This is by far the most make sense theory about the nature of Teyvat.
Can’t wait for the simulanka analysis. Natlan is going to be such a trip!
You somehow described how my own Dreamscape works in this deepdive. Thank you so much, honestly helped me ^~^
interestingly, one of those named black serpent knights in the chasm says "O guest from the false land, it is time to face the truth" when he sees you, so yeah I'm pretty sure Khaenri'ah is outside of the dream.
We’re going to shark boy and lava girl with this one.
Rukkhadevata was also leveraging the dreams of the Sumerians... Zen Buddhism and its influence on Bushido (and thus Ei) emphasize emptiness--that is that this reality has no inherent properties and one who observes with the correct perception allows for what has not manifested to flow through them and Become... the sussy bard spends all his time between important events sleeping...
This is a great theory to frame the world of Teyvat so far and I'm totally on board. "What is fate but absolute inescapable order" is a very compelling thought.
11:40 I remember when there was concept art leak flood year ago and there were also old concept arts for Azdaha - one of them was Diplocaulus - an extinct amphibian from carboniferous
So it links here too
I would also like to add that in Raiden Shogun's character demo, at the end she very ominously says "Waking world, you are woven from the stuff of dreams. All shall fade away"
Something similar actually happens in honkai impact 3rd part 2 where a world that was about to be destroyed falls from the imaginary three (the real space) into the sea of quanta (memoria) and while the real planet gets destroyed, it's people and reality get coppied into unstable bubble universes on the sea of quanta
glad to be apart of this channel. it keeps my tinfoil hat shiny and crumpled
The way the 4.8 event reinforced this theory like ten times fold...
