      Contact the local falconry club. Go to the meetings. Tag along on hunts offer to do chores for experience falconers! In other words get involved.

    Is that dark falcon a black gyr? Or just a real dark peregrine?

    Incredible Steve like always. Sometime I wonder why do you have 3 gxp males and any gyr...perfect land, perfect temperature, perfect prey for gyrs.

    • @stevesomach
      @stevesomach  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gyrfalcons and Jerkins are too smart, have challenges keeping good pitches after their first season. Even at a good pitch sage grouse bail out to the ground because the large size and power of gyrs intimidates them. Simply better flights with gyr/peregrines tiercels and fewer tailchases.

      Good to know. But we as a culture are not making more sage steppe grasslands. I'll never forget the first boomer I saw. It was on a lek, just sourh Belleview, Idaho, 1976. It's all houses and condos now. The lek is a golf course.
