This is NOT true. During an interview with CyberDen, Bobby himself said that he thought that they were going to get sued and that he was willing to take responsability for making those cover songs but not for putting them in the game. He also said that he is surprised that no one ever filed a lawsuit against iD Software. The whole "he was a lawyer and knew how to put songs without getting sued" is just a misinformation spread byJohn Romero.
The sound quality of older PC games like this were highly dependent on your method of sound generation. We never had a computer that could do MIDIs that sounded this good. It sounds like they may be using a high grade soundcard for this recording.
This track has an interesting reputation in the DOOM Mapping community. Because this track is the default MAP01 music, whenever someone makes a custom doom map this is the track that plays by default. There's probably 10's of thousands of amateur doom maps with this music accompanying them. If you were part of the early doom modding community you probably heard this song hundreds of times.
Dude I recently discovered you after watching the Endwalker jamming session. You look like a really cool guy and your ability to jam along side the songs is really impressive! Subbed!
I don't understand the whole video because my english knowledge is middle-low, but I only can say that I love the parts when you add your guitar with the ost
I just recently discovered your channel and I dabbled with guitar like 12 years ago when I had my dads Westone Dynasty handed down to me, it’s a pretty dope electric. You’ve inspired me to grab myself a nice acoustic and start playing. Eventually I’ll work up to electric. Anyways keep on doing what you’re doing man, you’re killing it. 🤘🏻 Happy new year!
they just want music that is a trend from their respective era. old doom obviously make thrash metal music, and modern doom try to follow djent era of heavy metal.
This song always reminds me of my house. Very nostalgic!
Bobby Prince was a lawyer before doing the doom ost iirc so he knew how much to alter songs to avoid getting sued
Yup, cuz it's the hangar 18 riff

The Doom II soundtrack wasn't composed by Bobby Prince.

man... I remember having to buy sound blaster cards. Damn I'm old.
Idunno man, a GUS with good soundfont went a long way towards this.
It wasn't a sound CARD it was a sound CANVAS, the Roland SC-55

I was accidentally watching this on 1.5 speed and was having the time of my life
You can’t convince me you took In the song while randomly playing over it
Wait til he hears Into Sandy's City
Respect!
Maybe checkout "DooM 2 Music - Map 1 - Running From Evil by Nemistade". It is a real cool rendition of this song.
Love the improv

dude. Your guitarplaying rocks!
you really seem to know your stuff..
The algorithm brought me here. I'm now a fan and subscriber. Sick riffs
Doom"s ost sounds like Megadeath song on my ears. Thats ironic couse OST of opponent game Duke Nukem was writen by Dave Mustaine/// Cool vid
Carmack and Romero were/are big metalheads. Pretty sure they like Megadeath.
You did well covering Endwalker, and did even better following up with this legendary track. I expect your sub numbers to explode soon

One of the most legendary games ever with an iconic soundtrack. Same with the first one.

Hangar 18, people!
Megadeth fans when they hear ascending chromatic chord progressions: "Its a Hangar 18 ripoff i swear"

Late to the party but I love this!

Majestuosa bro!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏🤟
i wish he heard the cooler version from doom+doomII remix soundtrack
Some Alice in Chains in there too.
what happens is that it's just a blues my boy
Doom eternal and 2016 makes you feel cooler, but doom 1 and 2 are more catchy

I overall like Doom 1 2 and 64 than the newer ones.
