Really old WM player here. I haven’t played since 2012 or so. Not that I lost love for PP and WM… just all the game shops in my area died out and I lost places to play at. These changes are really interesting. Thank you for sharing.
NP, helping out new players like you or returning players that have not had the time or do not have the resources yet to pull together all the into yet into a meaningful whole are why I put this video together. Let me say welcome to the game and to the community, you are very welcome!
I played Mercs back in MKII, and I've started re-collecting all the minis I got rid of, or never got, back in the day. I won't be playing MKIV, since I've gotten out of competitive games, but I'm looking forward to seeing the new Merc units (especially the Rhulics). Hope this is a success for PP!
I would love you to make more Warmachine content but it's hard I know. doesn't have the following Warhammer does... let's change that! I think it's a vastly superior game! been playing a lot in MKIV and having a blast.
Me too. I have played a lot of games since the app launch. I am stuck on a format for videos right now. I tried to be a warmachine news update channel, but a lot of the conclusions I made and discuss in my videos were proved to be incorrect right when I stopped which killed my motivation to keep going. I will come back, I just need to figure out a new focus.
@@HuronBH I am currently working on videos myself but its slow as I need to get out of my small playgroup to get a wider sense of what works more widely in MKIV.
What do you mean? If all new models are Print on demand and they make deals with manufactures in various hum locations like the one already made with the manufacturer in the UK, seems pretty likely that PP will be able to match demand fairly quickly in a variety of markets as necessary. Am I missing something?
So as mentioned there are 2 of what PP is calling Arenas of play. The Prime Arena is a limited format with only certain models allowed to be used while the Unlimited Arena is an open format where anything goes (well limited to Legacy playing with Legacy and New stuff playing with New Stuff). Depending on what you have in your collection, you will definitely be able to play in Unlimited, but it is very likely you will at least have some stuff that will Work in Prime. As far as Legacy rules go, all the Prime Legacy models (roughly 60% of all Legacy models) will have rules first (they will all be out by Jan 2023) with the rest of the Legacy models, receiving Mk4 rules over the course of 2023. I hope that helps!
My local game store faded away from Warmachine during Mk.II. So I really get the feeling that a large amount of money I spent on models is going to be a waste. If that turns out to be true, Mk.IV is going to be a pass for me.
@@daniel_f4050 I hope you are able to get a game group going again to play Warmachine with Mk4. The game is fun and has a lot of potential to bring players back again.
Make no mistake, i think the mayorati of the legacy models wont be relevant in prime. And you can count on it for PP to only Balance and Support the Prime Format in the long run. They try to get a whole New audience for MK4, as a Veteran Player you get a kick in the balls. I allways supportet the Company since the Start of mk2, but now our ways have Split. I understand what they are trying to archieve and that its some kind of neccessary for to Company, but splitting the roster in 2 Arenas is a huge no for me. Some time in the future pp will take your mk4 models and put them from prime to legacy and you have to buy all New models to play prime.
Several players did audits after PP announced what core unit types would be central to each Prime Arena Legacy army and the consensus was that about 60% of Legacy models would be in the Prime Arena. While I can say how relevant Legacy stuff will be going forward, this already evidence that PP will be updating and strengthening the Legacy Armies at least at launch to help them better balance with the New armies. Time will tell if that maintains, but listen to Episode 8 of Primecast for a peak into some of the changes that have already been made.
Original Prime units should be timeless, period. I can understand limiting the introduction of new/old forces in mk4 due to the complexity and bloat. I can understand creating new units and jacks. This needs to be done though over time and incorporating old units into the new format, not simply casting out a decade plus of collecting. PP screwed the entire Monsterpocalypse community but changing scale purely to ring the cash register. I and many other die hard fans of that game walked away rather than reward their arrogance. I see the same happening here.

This doesn't seem to address there issues of supplies down the line once they get all new models released

So will I not be able to use my army that I have now all the time, I’ll have to buy more stuff?
