This is actually totally wonderful...all my three daughters used to go to bed each night listening to this and other Grim tales with Rik Mayall...I wish I could find a copy of it to keep for the grandchildren!! yikes none yet!!! maybe its just for me while i drive to work...anyway...bring this back...bbc...you cant beat proper story telling sigh...
I loved these! I remember that the BBC put them on every day before Christmas back in 1992 or 1993 (although they initially run between 89-91) and I would really look forward to sitting down and watching them with my Dad. We were both big fans of Rik Mayall and I can’t imagine anyone telling these tales as good as Rik did. RIP Rik Mayall a sad loss to our nation and to comedy.
The lemonade swimming pool quote is brilliant. In fact, the whole thing is brilliant.

"Well of course you're not you horrible, stinking, raggedy lump of Bluhh!" LOL
ThankYOU!! :-)
'And a bus conductor trying to look important.' LOL
6:03 - "Drop dead!"
I found this line to be ironic since that happened to be the name of the title character Rik Mayall played in "Drop Dead Fred".
Rik's italian accent is the definition of LOL!
Ah christ, I remember listening to this as a kid...
If u listen it sounds like rick is saying
I DON'T LIKE CABBAGE!
XD
The beggar sounds like "Ken Shabby" from Monty Python
aren't his feet just so cute? lol
at the start, the princess sounds kinda like my little sister
The graphics are kinda twisted. =P
All the puppets and everything...but I love this episode.
