Check out every live Zeppelin performance that you can! They're all different, even the same songs are different from concert to concert. Incredible improvisational band. Greatest live band ever!
The harmonizing between vocals and guitar is called call and response! ALWAYS improvised!! Yes this was improvised! They never did a song the same way live!
Yeah improvised as he'll. All of them did. It was Jimmy's band, and they followed him. Sometimes you can see him give them cues kinda like a conductor. But they for sure had like a sixth sense. Jimmy could go off on a tangent, solo and everyone knows exactly when to come back in.
Jimmy Page said he wanted a concert band. Maybe because he had been a studio musician. Anyway, I believe it was Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones that said he didn't like Zeppelin because they played too long and that made the Stones have to start playing longer shows. So yes they did long songs. They did a version of Dazed and Confused 42min long.
spot on man I've been wandering for the last 42 years how they do it every live is a unique, trampled under foot 1975 its not there best but so many ins and outs unmatchable mind blowing
That was recorded in a school auditorium in Denmark. Mostly kids in the audience , However Joan Baez was there to hear "Babe , I'm gonna leave you" She originally sang the song. 😎
Zeppelin live is music on the spot! As Jimmy Page said when he plays live with the band he gets lost in the music and let's the music be his master head the masters call! Which Robert Plant used that Jimmy quote and made that part of the lyrics in Stairway to heaven!
Yeah, they had that magic from the start, eh? Completely on the same musical wave length from the get-go. The studio version is 8 1/2 minutes long, so it is one of their longer songs. Enjoyed your reaction a lot, thanks. Edit: Might want to check out the other three songs they performed when you have the time. You'd enjoy them as well, I'm sure. :)
Always magnificent!! Earliest I believe!
They looked so young! 😁

Yeah, I hear every performance if a song is unique 😁

That is so cool! All 4 of their energies are on sync all the time! And when Jason filled in, his was just like his dad it seemed 🤘
That's exactly why the band quit after John Bonham died. He was irreplaceable
Plant and Bonham only 21years old here. Unbelievable. Improvisation kings.
Both were 20 still. They turned 21 later in the year. ✌️
Right, John Bonham 5/30/48 > Robert Plant 08/20/48
Bonzo and Robert were only 20...JPJ 22 and Jimmy 24 here!!
Raw and Early! They were great from the begging!! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Yeah, when you have this kind of understanding, or like you said 6th sense, with your band mates, it was just meant to be

WTH? Lol, wow man... I never knew... you don't hear about stuff like that lol
@@ShawnSalvadori > Right , I found that by searching through their catalog
I saw them live in 1973 at my university - I've got the bootleg - "Any Port in a Storm - the lost soundboard tapes".
What a great memory I am certain!

This was the first as Led Zeppelin Ps You get a LOT of Improvisation with live Zeppelin.
I'm gonna do the other songs from the concert eventually for sure
@@ShawnSalvadori > Yeah , 3 more there.
Also have Live @ MSG & Of Course, Celebration Day 07 @ O2 London
Don't miss out on the Royal Albert Hall show from 1970, my personal favorite. It's absolutely incredible!

Ahhh, I like that they incorporated that into stairway to heaven
❤❤❤Led Zeppelin ❤❤❤
