Kil Mashke - ܟ݄ܠ ܡܰܫܟܶܐ
This video is the remake and the revival of the traditional kids song "Kil Mashke - ܟܠ ܡܫܟܗ" written by the well-established Poet Malfono Toma Nahroyo and composed by the legendary Musician Malfono Nuri Iskandar. The song was produced back in the 80s, and BET KANU continues to reproduce these gems to resurface them to the new generation; thus, be able to build this bridge between the past and the present.
The song depicts the environment of our older villages and the life in those villages. The song is inspired by the sound of the traditional butter churn "Gawdo", and the process of making butter; hence the repeated word "Kil Kil Kil". The song then continues to paint a beautiful picture of the typical TurAbdin village; similar to many other Assyrian villages in Syria, Iraq, Iran and Turkey.
