Greetings Afrikan Traveller, excellent interview with that electric vehicle Kenyan engineer. Watch out for China.... Kenya on the move and thanks for sharing.
Another amazing one as usual . Great content, Afrikan Traveler. I can’t stop saying how much your calmness and great personality do wonders with your videos. Keep working hard, I know the greatest of success for your channel is in the making. God’s blessings always.
@@AfrikanTraveller some years back when YT was not a thing only CNN used to bring a show about African start ups. The problem is that they only showed the ones owned by Asians and whites. Local TVs were missing in action. I used to think black people own nothing and it was demoralizing
Tell us the cost and where to get emmediate servicing centers. Very important. Otherwise without proper repair, service and spare parts, that is a no go zone for now.
Love the energy and the approach. I know being a pioneer has its hills and valleys but nothing beats forging the future, Sometimes we forget that government can be lead rather than depended on. Thanks for this one John. God speed to you both.
Please ask them how the batteries will be disposed off. Dangerous move if serious consideration is not put into serious reuse, recycle and no dumping procedures to follow when nolonger in use. Our countries are usually slack when it comes to safety but only thinks interns of money making. Otherwise a continued use of electric car batteries would mean continued mining of the lithium, nickel and alkaline which is killing people in many places like Congo. Green is not green enough when it is still dangerous to life.
Notification gang✅ How are you sir. I would really love to meet and know your story bro @theafrikantraveller. And then post it on my channel 😂. I mean it #tribelessafrica
Great and interesting story... I suggest you also organize a story about use of Drone technology in Kenya, the existing regulations and certifications for operating a drone in kenya etc..generally information about use of drones in the country. It will be so helpful for those of us who want to use drones in our different lines of work.
Just to clarify BYD is the largest electric vehicle manufacturer by units sold and largest electric busses by volume especially. Idk why that part of the interview seemed not clear to me. Anyways BYD only makes electric vehicles.
Interesting to watch having sought to engage BYD before to develop market for their evs. My thought target was more on taxis but happened its like for the saloons which has good range, they didn't have RHD while for vans, limited range was the challenge. Great strides indeed. If Kenya we can go electrical and export the oil we produce we would be miles ahead.
I wish Africans will improve on electricity stability and start manufacturing electric cars to reduce the level of smoke pollution. China has started already and it’s really amazing. I need to buy this shirt challe 😆😆
We are capable really but we lack good financing, aggressive government support. In Ghana a yong man has already made an electric car by hand....smart. support support support.
EVs can be a good deal for taxis and ubers, but it will take time for the migration from fossil fuel to electricity, first there is need for the establishment of charging spots in designated areas
It will take time but electric cars manufactures are moving so fast. They West and China have government support/subsidies. Our Kenya just need government support. My worry is that gasoline cars are going to be too cheap for Africans and other poor countries to afford. Soon as the West embrace electric vehicles, they will dump them into poor countries unless our governments start restrictions soon. My worry again is the corruption in our countries that will hinder moving towards electric cars since oil producing companies will try all they could to block electric cars from penetrating poor countries son that their oil and petrol continue to sell. You know what that means.... Pollution and death to our people.

Good question, will keep it for the next interview.

Yes it is possible. Elon Musk is already doing it in USA with Tesla. It is just a matter of time before solar charging for cars reach Kenya.
