In my opinion, Lena Raine captures the more adventurous side of Minecraft and C418 captures the more lonely, and sweet yet bitter feeling of Minecraft. I don't really know how to describe it well so this is the best way for me to describe it 😢

Unpopular opinion, Lena Raine's music fits the game as well as C418's does. It's just nostalgia that causes us to think that C418's is better. Of course though, C418's will always have a special slot in my heart that Raine's might never be able to work into. But it's art, so there's not much of a point to trying to figure out which one's better because, well, it's all subjective. C418's might very well be better to someone BECAUSE of the nostalgia! Again, it's art! It's meant to make you feel things! Nostalgia is certainly a feeling, good or bad. In 10 years, kids of today will look about at Raine's work and tear up because the fun times they had as kids listening to it.

Spittin' facts, here. In my opinion Lena Raine's music is diffirent from C418's but in a good way, it symbolizes how nothing's permanent and that Minecraft is changing. And I'm vibin' just as peacefully to Lena's music as to C418's... but with less tears.

I agree, I just kind of wonder where he went, I miss him, all those years as a kid seeing a loading screen message: Music by C418. And now he’s vanished from scene, I love the new artists but to a degree I do like the old ones too, nostalgia is a factor to me, just wished we could stay with him, the world changes and in some instances in a sad way, and I know a lot of you will know that feeling of overwhelming change.
It's not the same as C418, but it hits the right spots. Though, out of everyone that worked on Minecraft's Soundtracks, C418 captured the essence of Minecraft itself.
Don't get me wrong, C418's music was probably the best choice for MC's Soundtrack, but the reason that Lena Raines music doesn't feel like C418 to us (although her music is still awesome, especially Aerie) Is because of the memories connected to each track, And the time that has passed since then, you can't recreate that with sound no matter how hard you try, but Lena Raines music imo comes pretty darn close :) I'm just glad that we had C418 when the game was younger because i really dont know how any other sound track would feel even with this much time already having passed, but im sure that Lena Raine's music could have felt the same, but who knows
I'd say that C418 created the essence of minecraft, not the other way around. His music is pretty solid, but what makes it so beloved is the nostalgia surrounding it. Don't get me wrong though, I'm also super nostalgic for it.

The moment it hit Sweden, all the memories started flooding back. Playing pocket edition Minecraft with my brother when it first came out with just zombies and skeletons. Later on trying the free version on PC where you get three Minecraft days before it logs you out. The memories of the Minecraft versions of songs we listened to without even knowing there were REAL versions out there. Old Minecraft creator videos, Lion Stud ios, Popularmmos, Skydoesminecraft, Etc. Also the Minecraft school videos someone used to animate with the different Minecraft mobs doing school. This was all OVER ten years ago. I can't believe how fast time has passed

I think the tone has changed now that a lot of the people who played Minecraft as kids are grown up and don't really play the game as much or at all anymore. In ten years time, the people who are starting to play now will probably be saying this music has a nostalgic tone. It's a cycle and I hope it continues for generations to come cause so many people have awesome memories tied to this game and everyone deserves to experience them.

C418 feels like a home that you can never return to, or a home that isn't there anymore.
Lena Raine and the other new composers, they feel like the dreams of a home you've yet to make for yourself.

my favourite theory about minecraft is that it's a post-apocalyptic world, but it's healing. the music for the older versions, composed by c418, sounds lonely and empty, because the world is empty. but with every update, the world becomes more lively, and so does the music. lena raine's music sounds more hopeful for the future

I'll always be biased for C418, but I admit Lena Raine has some gorgeous stuff, bringing a different flavour to the music established before. Minecraft has been around for more than a decade but there's always new features, builds, and players that keeps it fresh and Raine's music summarizes that-the excitement of (re)discovering new (old) paths-quite nicely.
I see a lot of people saying C418 "fits minecraft better" and I disagree, bith C418s work and Lenas work fits minecraft, just differently for different eras of the game
C418 fits the feeling of loneliness in the unknown, like the world is so much bigger
Lena on the other hand gives me feelings of adventure into new but familiar territory, representing not only the change the game has gone through, but the game WE have gone through
Overall, Lenas works are still able to bring me to tears just as C418 does, that is the biggest compliment I can give

I'm currently studying for a Physics exam I'm about to have tomorrow. This instrumental is gonna make me cry, it's so nostalgic. I used to play Minecraft a lot, especially with my brother. Just hearing this is making me remember the good old days when I wasn't in so much stress and could relax and play games. I never had to stress about exams back then. Now things are getting harder as I progress through grades, but it's a reminder for me that life goes on. It doesn't matter how badly I want to still be stuck in the days where I wouldn't need to stress about being good enough, back when my grades didn't set my mood and motivation for the day. It's a nice instrumental and I love it. Best of luck to everybody who is facing examinations, or facing anything in life!

lena raine is arguably the best artis they could have chosen for future minecraft songs. such a good fit.
Lena Raine's music is great, I really do love it, but to me it just doesn't have some very specific thing. I know this is a personal opinion and that it's probably tainted by nostalgia, but none of her music has had as profound an effect on me as some of C418's. When some songs like Sweden or Taswell come on, I genuinely stop playing for a moment and just sit there. These songs have meant so much to me and speak to me on a level that very very few songs have. It's more than just good memories, it's my entire life. All I can do is listen and think, about my past, future, and most importantly present.
This piece is incredibly relaxing and serene. Perfect for winding down.

nobody asked but to me, while C418's tracks obviously feels more nostalgic and strange, lonely, Lena Raine's ones sounds nearly as good and fits the renewal of Minecraft very very well. And, discovering them for the first time while playing gave me the exact same feeling as C418's did long ago. So, props to Lena, and ESPECIALLY for the Nether ones. They are my favorites from far and I think are better than C418's

the feeling of discovery from her songs make me feel like back when I started playing and everything seemed so new to me. :)
I love them both, but i love C418's music more because that's the music that was playing in my ears 10 years ago when i didn't have to stress about DE classes and worry about what others think of me
I think both do a perfect job capturing the feeling and essence of minecraft honestly. I absolutely adore C418's tracks, especially considering they're what I grew up with, but what a lot of people fail to realize is that as we grow up, minecraft is growing with us. If you take Lena's music back to early-mid 2010s minecraft, it'll feel pretty out of place compared to C418's tracks. Sure they'd still sound nice, but they just wouldn't work the same way C418's music did back then, and that's because C418's music was written FOR that minecraft. Honestly, minecraft has grown and evolved a lot over the years, and in a way, it almost feels like Lena Raine's music defines the more modern features of the game, whether it be her additions with the Nether overhaul, to the Caves & Cliffs worldgen overhaul, to the Mangrove Swamps and Deep Dark update in 1.19, despite all of these updates many people compare the two artists' work to the capture and feel of the older, simpler version of minecraft, despite that only one of the two actually composed for that game.
At the end of the day, both artists are incredible, and both have made fantastic music that fits into the game perfectly as is, but while I do absolutely love C418's music and, Lena Raine has done an incredible defining (what is currently) modern-age minecraft, because just like C418 did with old versions of the game that all of us started playing on, she perfectly captures the feeling of a beautiful, lonely, unknown, empty world full of life, that's completely new to us.

The conclusion was the greatest and saddest conclusion I have ever seen better than any of the books I have read. Thank you so much for creating this absolute masterpiece. This is essentially the most important masterpiece of film history. It is a tragedy that this, it can’t be called a film, but a transcendent emotional experience, will be inaccessible for most. It beautifully encapsulates the human struggle to its basics; suffering, pleasure, faith, despair. The work put in to this is incredibly inspiring. The graphics, the animation, the music, so much thought was put into it. This has remined me that you can do anything you put your mind to. Not even mentioning the memories, this makes me feel like an infant again, just laying my eyes on this beautiful masterpiece gives me all the good feelings in life. I also understand what happiness is again from this. Not even to mention the most incredible part that is 2:10. Bacon spinning has changed my life for the better. It connects with the characters within the viewers, individuals suppressed within our own subconscious. It stays vibrant, fresh, and revolutionizes the art of storytelling and filmmaking while making a damn of statement on what it means to be human. Entertaining, gripping, and simply exhilarating. This might be the most impactful piece of art I’ve come across in my life, and I’m definitely coming back to it in the near future to study it more deeply. this is an absolute masterpiece , I was brought to tears listening to this and seeing the bacon go whirly swirly in a circle countless times. it absolutely moved my soul , and I don't think I can ever be the same. this bacon has changed my entire mental state , I am now at peace with who I am and what I will be doing later in my life. So much great graphic design, so much suspense, so much greatness in this one video. i have forgiven all my enemies and now I am a man of a pacifist life. I will move on , gotta move on , as the song says. the bacon is so inspirational , it shares it vast wisdom with all of us , and we are all so lucky that it would bestow it's great words with us. we are all children on bacon. hail bacon. hail bacon. The spinning bacon, rotating in one direction with this music... This made me tear up. How could such a bacon do such a thing? I'm struck by awe by this masterpiece. Especially when the bacon spins, showing its lightly salt covered tan skin. I can hear the crunch just from here, and so as the beautiful sound of the bacon scraping the dark, smooth velvet floor. When i first opened minecraft today for the first time in a while, i sat at the main menu for 2 of the soundtracks because i love them so much. Probably one of my favorite artists of all the updates, it just made my revisit so much better loading into a peacful reminder that minecraft is still the same comfort as it was many years ago to me
