I just built a 3.5" (Volador 3.5 frame) as my first drone and I'm glad I went with this size to learn freestyle on. The shorter arms and smaller mass make me worry less about breaking it and people's reactions have been very positive. Because it's quiet, it's definitely less intimidating for them. But it's great to fly outside when it's not too windy. And mine came out to 248g.
Yes! i have 3 builds haha but my favorite right now is my O3 build with GEPRC 1505 motors on it. Since the Tanq changed from only allowing 9x9 mounting.
my daily driver is a 3.5" and I love it. I actually have a 2.5" and a 3.5" that I love flying now. I may need to try this little ripper as I have 3 Tanq S quads and little different one would be fun to try. especially after seeing you fly.....i know it's your skill but now I want it lol
Great vid and smooth flying! I’m currently building a volador 3.5 with 1804s and a Moonlight kit. I should be receiving the new Speedybee 40 amp aio shortly. But my daily flyer right now is a 3” with 12025s, 20 amp Hakrc, on 2S with a 1S Mini lite. So much fun.
My most comfortable quad is the 3/3.5”. It handles well and when I was first starting, it was way more durable than my 5” ones. I’ve focused on 5” quads lately but when I put a 3.5” up, I’m reminded of the ABSOLUTE joy of straight ripping in the yard.
Having that much property around your house must be so much fun. Out here in SoCal we are so congested, you don't have that kind of openness unless you're super rich and can afford the land far from everything. In the outer suburbs way far away, you might have a bit of backyard but nothing on that level.
@@Jacob0481 Where about? I don't get out as often because my previous flying partner and his wife moved to OR. Flying alone is boring and kind of leaves exposed.
Hey Evan, I've been watching your channel for a while, and I'm interested in knowing more about the drone company. Is there any chance I might talk to you more about what you guys are up to? I've been in the hobby for years and talk to quite a few of the reviewers on a regular basis. Mostly about products, specs and personal feedback on everything that we do and I think your business may be something that we could both benefit from and most of all the drone community
i have a babyape ii 6s version. awful camera but it flies great! i smacked it into the side of my house and stripped some screws but it still flies just fine. this size of drone is great for under 250.
This frame is sick! So, i have a 3 inch topflight Comanche, but I'm not a fan of bottom mounted lipos, and the way the frame is built...i run o3 air unit and 6s 1050 lipos. Hopefully all the components on my 3 inch, will suffice on your 3.5 inch. Also hope 1050 6s isn't too big for this frame
Take a look at the AxisFlying Manta 3.6 6S. it can hit over 125mph. with the O3 system and could carry a hero 11 mini no problem. I love 3.6 and 4-inch quads on 6s 1300mah lipo. yours looks great too.
Never tried a 5" but I definitely wouldn't fly it as much as I do with my 3.5", I have built and flown smaller quads and I feel like 3.5" is the upper limit for most of the spots where I fly. 5" and larger have their place but smaller quads are much more practical.
We are lucky to have a weekly race group, and almost everyone is getting tinytrainers so we have two size brackets racing. I have a 3 inch baby fox, I'm the only one not flying a 533 quad; sorry , I love my fox crooked, fox bias.
This looks really cool! Why not make the battery mounting “toilet tank” if your goal was to have a perfect cg? No hate just curious. Loving these vids!
why did you choose not to go 4" on this one? Those motors should handle them easily (gemfan 4023), it would add almost no weight and should be pretty effecient and maybe even quieter (lower rpm)? Would love to hear your perspektive!
What is happening with that battery strap?! I have been trying to figure out s system like that, which is NOT velcro. I wonder how this could scale up to 5"?
Wow I love the frame!! Is there a way to get it in EU or do u plan contracting any of EU vendors? I checked and with a shipping and taxes it comes near to 100 bucks if I order directly wrom the site 😢
He said "04!...........🙄🙂" Very sneaklyish..... You got an 04 over there?.. Me and my friends would have this code back in the day that if we wanted to say Yes to something we would say an even number, and an odd for No. If you get what I'm getting at... What's your favorite word? 😉
3.5" quads are only "the best" if you either 1) Live in a country with stupid sub250 laws like the US or 2) Don't have a proper flying field to fly in and are thus going to fly in parks near other people. I also see you don't have a GoPro on it... Guess another thing that just "comes with the territory" is having to rely on your VTX for video, which means that your video quality is not that good (it's not as good as GoPro even if you are using an O3, and if not, then it's a lot worse). It's also not even that quiet. It's still loud enough that I wouldn't fly it in a neighbourhood backyard like you are.
I agree. It's not that silent. The 1804 motors on this are pretty powerful. If you want to make your 3.5 inch a little more silent, it's a matter of what props you use. I find the emax 3528 to be more silent. I wouldn't run these props on motors smaller than 1604 though. The pitch is pretty high. Not as efficient as the HQ 3.5x2.5x3, but more punch and less noisy.
dude is killing it with all this new content!!!
Thanks bro ! Trying to keep it up

I agree with ya. In my experience just the noise alone from a 5" draws a lot of attention. I built a Let's Fly Rc Tanq-S and Love it!!!

They are for sure awesome quads! Will be on the lookout for some footage from ya
Daily after work "climb a tree" driver, epic flying bro Thanks for sharing! I can tell you that I love my Pirate Lil'Matey v2 (also 3.5" 4S) as well!
Hahaha love a good tree climb. 3.5” quads fly great !

I'm a huge fan of 3-3.5" I have two 6s I built and a Tiny Trainer HD. I tend to fly them more than my 5" quads.

This company makes some sick drones! I Iove mine!

I hear that, im in socal too and i have very limited places to rip lol
@@Jacob0481 Where about? I don't get out as often because my previous flying partner and his wife moved to OR. Flying alone is boring and kind of leaves exposed.
Yeah I agree with all of this. 3.5 is the best! I have the Crux35 HDZero and it's my favorite quad to rip.
What an awesome frame!
Congrats this looks very exciting!!
Great video! I like your approach to just give the important things that you think or know and not just selling some crap, just to get free gear

Btw, I'm not selling anything. Lol. I promise
Luckily you are up north and have trees that are climb friendly....pine trees and oak trees w moss and palm trees down here in florida....
On my list. Awesome!
Man that thing looks awesome
Sick flying man I would like one 👍👍👍
Looks like a great quad !
Love it man!
Yes
Picking up one these ASAP

I think as long as the AIO is 25x25 it should work!
Not to mention you can fit 6-10 lipos AND a 99Wh power bank to recharge them in like a fanny pack. 3.5" is so portable.
Man that's a ripper man is that something you came up with
My buddy makes big money filming with 3.5” 6s quads, the difference in resonance is crazy over 5”
Great content 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

Should make some dual walksnail antenna tpu prints so us walksnail pilots can use the dual antenna vtxs instead of single antenna vtxs
Copy!

lol! Dude your name is greedy Fox it’s only right. Love you all are getting to race !
It looks soooo cool!! Will it be available in Europe at some point? This thing might have convinced me to get into 3.5 inch drones 😉
Yes! We will send you one :)
@@headsupfpv Really? Thank you so much for making this possible 🤗🙏
May I send you an email about this?
No FRIA? NO PROBLEM! The world needs more options in the 3.5" range
Are there .stl files for download yet? Ordered one last night, wouldn't mind getting some prints started.
We will get them posted up this weekend !! You always have the coolest prints haha

We will have toilet tank battery mounting option too :) I’m stoked to try it !
@ awesome to hear!
Love the content! What rates do you use?
Thanks!!
Roll = .95 RC rate and .7 super rate
Pitch + Yaw = .8 RC rate .7 super rate

We have reached out to several EU vendors yes! Hope to have it there for you all soon :)
@headsupfpv noiice! Once vendors confirm give us heads up on IG or something :D waiting for it 🤞

The only reason I fly a 5 inch because it’s the smallest quad that can fly a full size GoPro and still freestyle.
What prop are you running?
HQ PROP 3.5" Prop (T3.5X2.5X3 3" 1.5MM T-MOUNT-
can i mount full size dji action cam?
It would be a little heavy but you absolutely can ! The onboard dji has always impressed me
Oh no O4 keeps the different camera mount leaked 😢😅😅
You have tested the new o4 already? 😜
🤷🏻♂️
Im trying but every time i fly my 3.5 i just miss my 5
i am building my apex 3 again just so i can fly at more places
Don't blame you at all!
5 inch the best
