Thanks for the great video. Any particular reason you use 10 jog steps in this compensation?

Thank you. I may have misspoke in the video, i know that my laser compensation tables are a measurement taken every 1/2 of an inch.

I did not but I guess you could to average it out.

If you have two drives hardware tied to one axis can this still be done?

Hey Alan, great videos (and shop), thanks! I know this is old, but quick question if you don't mind as I am beginning to shop for parts for a build of my own. I notice the 50mm (?) face mill in your Chinese spindle - can you run that combo and on what materials? Is the spindle just one of the generic 24k RPM ones or did you get a lower RPM version? Also, i think you have a Huanyang VFD, right? Still holding up fine?

Its just a cheap china 24k spindle, the vfd is still holding up well, i have face milled a few times with aluminum but dont to it often.

@@AMHKnives Thanks so much, that's def good enough for me:). I think you are the first guy on TH-cam I have seen running that face mill in the "small" spindles.

so lash setups only take into consideration the most worn part of the ball screws ? Is there any menu options to setup lash numbers further out on the travel, or just one spot ?

automan1223 backlash is only the slop in the ballnut in change in direction. The software is now adding ballscrew compensation tables witch allow you to compensate for the changes in the ballscrew over the whole travel. Ill be posting a video soon about it.

wow that is very cool. on older worn machines that would be a problem...

automan1223 im not sure, ive only used it on ballscrew mill.
