Thank you so much, Jason! I really like the tuning one. And will experiment with more.

Interesting that you didn’t mention Tempo Advance…. I expected this one to make the cut. This is the single most incredible and effective app for developing rhythm and tempo skills!!! Highly recommended for any instrument player, even if it was developed by the drummer from Dream Theater. :)

Cool-never tried it, but I’ll check it out! I’ll probably do another round of apps on the channel in the near future.

Great Video! I have a question or two though, I am basically a pure android user, and I was wondering if there was a good alternative for a practice app to Modacity. Another thing I was wondering was what you think is the best way to train your ear, I have kind of been learning that my intonation is not where I want it to be, and I can't tell where I need to go a lot of the time.Thank you!

Thanks for watching! I don’t know of an alternative app for android, but you could try using some sort of workout fitness app. I find that using a drone helps with your training a lot.

Definitely for orchestra lol most of the stuff these apps do should be done by ear for jazz

As you're a professional bass player, I'm intrigued to know how long you practice each day?

It really depends on the week and what’s coming up. I try to get a minimum of 30 minutes in Mon-Fri no matter what I’m doing. Ideally, I’d like 1-2 hours a day for bass practice, but that typically only happens a couple of times a week. When something big is coming up, I scale it up to 2-3 hours a day. That’s just me, though-everyone works at a different pace in my experience.

@@doublebasshq In retirement, I try to practice Monday to Friday between 9am and noon (though I'm not playing for the full 3 hours ;-) ). My weekends are spent doing my other passion, long distance cycling; so upon returning home from a bike ride, I'm usually too tired to get the bass of its stand to practice. However, if the weather is too bad to go for a ride, I'll do a 45 minutes session on the cycle rollers or a quick blast on my Concept2 rower. This would leave me with enough time and energy for a short practice session on the bass.

I find MobileSheets to be a great Android alternative for Forscore.
