Otyken is an indigenous music group from Siberia that mixes elements of modern pop music with local folk music, using traditional instruments, lyrics and languages. “Otyken” is a word in the Chulym language, translated into Russian meaning “sacred place of power; a place where soldiers laid down their weapons." The ethnic music group “Otyken” consists of various representatives of the small peoples of Siberia: Chulyms, Kets, Selkups, Khakass and Dolgans. Their main style is a combination of different musical genres with the sound of ethnic instruments and throat singing. This kind of music is called World Music.
