Each one has advantages and disadvantages... I guess one completes the other. I do have a GP12, but I guess that if I'd had to choose one to be my trip friend, definitely would be the OP3, mainly because of his size and the gimbal movements... and his performance at very low light with pratically no noise. I have watched a bunch of reviews, especially comparisons between these 2 cameras and yours is by far the most complete 👏
i wanna start vlogging but this is hard > like the gopro has a good price for me but its bad in low lights . the dji so expensive for my budget but its perfect for me . is there any camera under 400 dollar . better than the gopro in low lights . what should i buy
I'd go with the Pocket 3 unless you need to use it underwater, you can't take care of the gimbal itself or if you don't want to pay $$$ for it. Consider the P3 for low light environments
Sorry but at 2:25 the GoPro has far, far more detail then the Pocket 3. Just look at the wooden planks, the surface of the concrete. The Pocket 3 just smooth everything out, whilst the GoPro has incredible details.
The GoPro has a ton of digital sharpening..the Pocket 3 seems more natural. I prefer the natural look of the Pocket 3 vs the overly digitized look of the GoPro
Hi Otto, on my Pocket 2 i used to be able to connect a usb c to lightening cable to my iphone 12 pro max and get a live video feed from the Pocket 2 via Mimo app. There was no latency and it stopped the overheat in hot climates (not using bluetooth) while providing a larger monitor. I’ve tried this on the Pocket 3 and it seems not to work the same way. Do have any advice on this? As far as I can see the Pocket 3 doesn’t support video feed out like the older Pocket 2 😔 It’s a real shame.
Thanks so much for the review it helped me a lot. I use Gopro 7 as an action camera, it is perfect as action camera and underwater but overheating problem made me think twice before getting Gopro12.I used to vlog with Sony zv10 but now i want more handy camera, i think i will go for Dji p3
On a recent trip to San Diego I used the P3 mostly for all my hiking adventures. It needs more baby-sitting because the gimbal is more fragile in general, but Gopro 12 doesn't have some features that the P3 has
I need a small camera to shoot mainly my unboxing videos indoor. I need to place it on a tripod to shoot from the top of my desk with a zoom in and out option and a great sound & video quality. Horizontal & vertical shooting also easy connection to my mobile phone. Is the Dji a good option or is there a better option?
Hey everyone, I’m Ajith from India, and I’m planning to buy the DJI Pocket 3 for travel vlogging and casual filmmaking. Should I buy it now, or wait for the Pocket 4? Are there any rumors about its release ,Any advice would be appreciated!
Great video! I recently went on a trip to Disney world filmed everything vlog style with my hero 12 I liked it but low light was a very difficult thing …. I am thinking of switching to the pocket 3 for vlogging but idk if the $600+ price point can justify it ….. what are everyone’s thoughts ?? Try and master the GoPro as my vlogging camera or bite the bullet and get a pocket 3
Yeah the GoPro for low light is going to be challenging and some people don’t care about it, others like myself will not have it. I think memories are priceless, the Pocket 3 is a nice camera, just be mindful that it’s not exactly point and shoot
DJI the picture kinda looks like it has some filter on, I think I will go with GoPro. The only thing that makes me worry is GoPro tempter is too high after using 30 mins.
Hi, yeah people look for different things in the camera. Gopro does overheat quite quickly indeed. Have you considered the Action 4? The camera I use is the Sony A7IV
Im confused between them. I want a camera for my personal memories not for Social media. I rarely go on trips also have budget issues. Don't care about the portability. I'm using iPhone 14 is gopro camera even worse than my phone in low lights??
Recorded my last trip using gopro 12 and am totally disappointed with video quality. So I was recording using 1.3 or 1.4 zoom because it was too wide for me, 8bit and 60mbs. Even if it’s not highest settings the quality I got was kind of 720p scaled to 4k, details were missing at all. At lower light it’s shaky and objects has some glitches. In comparison I had sony rx100m7 with same params set: 4k, 60mbs and amount of details on same shots are tons more. Also the gopro sound is nightmare to edit: tons of noise, unbalanced stereo so would be much better to use external or directed mic to simplify your post production life xD. So now I plan to take the pocket 3 as it has physical stabilization so no problems with low light and also external wireless mic . In recap: go pro for vlogging is total disappointment unless you do some extreme or record under water - which mostly not happening.
Great review. I'd say if one is already invested in either ecosystem, stay there. For people who have multiple accessories with either of these systems, I don't see enough of an advantage one way or the other to throw away hundreds or even thousands of dollars for marginally different outcome. For most people, more benefit will come from focusing on becoming better using what they have to get better at the craft. That said, the development of the DJI system bears watching. I'll be interested in another look when the 4 is out.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Many accessories that work for the GoPro will work with other cameras since they adopted their mounting system. If someone is too invested then it probably doesn’t make sense, but for the casual user that doesn’t have too many things it’s ok if they want to switch to a system that suits their needs more. Then again, you are right about getting better with what they have. 🙂
Terrible product! I bought the GoPro expecting high performance, but what I got was nothing but disappointment. The camera overheats every 10 minutes, making it nearly impossible to record long videos or use it in warm conditions. It seems like the cooling system is completely ineffective. I do not recommend buying it, as it’s basically throwing money away. For the price, I expected something far more durable and reliable, but this is honestly the worst product I’ve ever used. Stay away from this trap!
"There is a TINY problem with the stabilization on the GoPro when there is'nt enough light" 😄 Well that's a tiny understatement... The GoPro is useless when it's not enough light is more correct 😊 Pocket 3 on the other hand is amazing in low light 🙏 Have both cameras and they are both great in their own way 😊
I have used these cameras quite a lot and I have to give the GoPro some credit under some circumstances in low light, but you are right, in most cases it's just going to be bad, specially compared to a low light monster such as the P3
I have Pocket 3 for all videos except action and I have Action 4 for action. Those are totally different cameras for different use case. Also the best part of Pocket 3 that pixel size is 3.2u and it is not quad based pixel. It is totally some voodoo sh*t in low light. Can see nearly in total darkness where action cam low light breaks even in indoor lights on.
Voodoo s***! That’s the word I’ve been looking for lately lol. Thanks, I agree. Of course the intention of these kind of videos is to help others who can’t or don’t want to have more than 1 camera. It comes down to everyone’s needs as I said in the video.
For outdoor sports or water related videos sure, for general outdoor videos and travel it will depend on each person’s own shooting style. I just came back from a 15 day trip and my GoPro stayed home without being missed
This comparison was over in the first minute, the pocket 3 isn't as robust and isn't waterproof!!!! Drop your dji in the water/sand/mud/snow and it's game over. End of discussion.
@pokestar_shorts I’ve seen some videos taken with that phone. They are decent for vlogging. If you are a beginner. A camera doesn’t make a photographer or videographer, the magic is made by you

Yes, I agree with you when you said that both have their own advantages and cons as well. Thanks for your feedback, it means a lot
Thanks for this review. Exactly the two cameras I've been looking at. I've decided I need both 😄
Lol😅
i wanna start vlogging but this is hard > like the gopro has a good price for me but its bad in low lights . the dji so expensive for my budget but its perfect for me . is there any camera under 400 dollar . better than the gopro in low lights . what should i buy
Ace Pro is better in low light
Merci! Very enlightening however still difficult to make my choice
I'd go with the Pocket 3 unless you need to use it underwater, you can't take care of the gimbal itself or if you don't want to pay $$$ for it. Consider the P3 for low light environments
@OttoJulian_ thanks - I also came with this decision & P3 has been ordered ! Thanks again for your thorough review. Can't wait !
Can we connect regular bluetooth mics to the dji pocket 3 ?
dji could also apply digital is to improve the up and down motion
but the sensor does not have enough mp to do so
That would be a nice and interesting combo!
@@OttoJulian_ yes gimbal with eis would be unbeatable
now eis seems better than gimbal in daylight

Yeah indoors will be good. Yes you can mount on any tripod
Fantastically useful video, thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. I am not very experienced with video but I like hiking and I would like to video my hikes. Which would be best for this?
On a recent trip to San Diego I used the P3 mostly for all my hiking adventures. It needs more baby-sitting because the gimbal is more fragile in general, but Gopro 12 doesn't have some features that the P3 has

@OttoJulian_ between DJi pocket 3 & sony zv-e10, which one is a better option?
@@K_halmiland oh man. That’s a complete different league. I’d go with the Sony!
@OttoJulian_ Now you made it so much harder for me to choose 😭
Hello. Which one do you recommend between these two? My main priority is to shoot videos.
I think the video sums up my thoughts and facts about these 2 cameras. What did you think of each of them?
Background blur is great feature that i'm looking for action camera, hope gopro will considering this for next Gopro 13
GoPro 13 has been released and no, it doesn’t have something like that
Excellent review thanks. I’m going for the Osmo
that's great!

thanks for your info! ima go for gopro 12 , because its tough
sure! Gopro 13 just released as well!
Which one would be better for car rollers?
P3 might have some difficulties when panning it at some speeds.
I wanna record trips and take pictures of the fam without carrying a bulky cam, is the DJI worth it?
I do like it a lot, this is what I used for some personal videos that I made in my last trip, while having the choice to use other smaller cameras
Waiting to see u r comparison between Osmo Pocket 3 vs Go Pro Hero 13
I'm working on Action 5 PRO currently and will focus on GoPro 13 a bit afterwards,
What is the best underwater camera overall out there?
I'd recommend the Action 4 or the Ace Pro.
