I like the idea of using Thursdays for cyphers since they are a hugely important part of the Nerdcore scene. My personal recommendation is the Otaku 2020 Cypher from Shwabadi or the Anime Swordsman Cypher.

The order I believe is partially based on how early on in the games they appeared while trying to keep those from the series of original games near each other. The dragon quest games are really fun. You can pick them up at any point and enjoy it without needing to play a prior game. It can be stressful on a level basis if you don't grind a bit or figuring quests but thats the fun of an RPG. You can retroactively play the older games since characters due make crossovers. I recommend trying one out.
