Love the quilt you made with your Mom’s guidance. All your mom’s quilts are beautiful. Always remember how she loved her family. When sewing for others, her love kept her working.
I miss your mom. I shed some tears as I saw her quilts again. She was so talented and enjoyed sharing her quilts with others. I believe the modern quilt with the yellow binding was one of her first modern quilts. I always used it when I stayed in the quest bedroom. The fabric for my quilt came from Alaska. She couldn't wait to show me the fabric she had picked out for my quilt. I keep the quilt in my office, it is always near me.
Thank you, Laurel, for sharing these beautiful, beautiful quilts. They are such an amazing tribute to your mum and an amazing legacy for you and your family to cherish. I feel honoured to have been given a glimpse into her life - such a loving person, it shines through in every stitch. And in you. Thank you again. ❤

What precious memories and a heritage for you and your family. I so very much appreciate you sharing this part of your mom with us. She must have been a very amazing woman to raise a daughter with such a beautiful spirit.❤
That was a beautiful video to showcase your mothers wonderful talent. The quilts are just stunning. I can’t pick one out as I loved them all. She has left your family a wonderful legacy full of love to hand down the generations. You do your quilt when you are ready. X
Thank you for sharing the amazing and beautiful quilts your mom made. She was a very gifted quilter and her color and fabric choices are stunning. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Thanks so much for sharing your Mom’s quilts! They are glorious! I am a cross stitcher and a quilter (although no where as many as your Mom made!) Stitching and quilting helped me hold myself together after the death of my wonderful son 13 years ago. It’s really great that you have a quilting project to look forward to when you are ready. A Beauty Full tribute…..❤
Thank you ❤️ I'm sorry for your loss and can only imagine how hard that must be for you. While nothing can ever make it better, I am glad that you were able to find solace in stitching and quilting.
Hi Laurel ♡ The quilt your mother made for your wedding is beautiful. I have a black rod-iron quilt rack for my quilts. Her quilts are all beautiful and yours is gorgeous! I love looking at the backs. Oh my gosh! Love Jelly. We have quite a few black and white and tuxy's at our shelter now. Bagel is sweet too. The Hunter Star quilt is gorgeous! The quilt she made for your father is beautiful. She certainly had an eye for color! When I made my first quilt, I was in JoAnn Fabrics forever! Thank you, Laurel for sharing your mother's beautiful handiwork. So much love in each quilt. The Crazy for Christmas quilt is pretty. Watch for cardinals ❤ Beautiful colors with Elegance quilt. Your mother is beautiful. Thank you, Laurel.
Thank you for sharing this loving tribute to your creatively, beautiful mom! You are an important part of my creative community. I always love to see your profile pop-up in my TH-cam feed. I so love the tender way you approach your profession to educate the next generation. Modeling kindness to our family and friends, to our critters, to our possessions and to our world is so important. Sharing the story of your mom's life helps to have her live on in the hearts of others. Thank you again for sharing!
Not knowing your Mom I like to think you are a lot like her. Creative, intentional, soft, attention to detail & most thoughtful. Thanks for sharing yr Mom’s heart with us.
You had me in tears at the end. I love that you made this video and showed off your mother's amazing talent. I love that you and your family have so many memories surrounding those quilts that can be talked about and enjoyed for years to come. Sending you virtual hugs!
Oh my goodness, such a beautiful video! Such a wonderful tribute to your mom. She was a true artist. There’s so many memories for you in each quilt she made. I think you would find a lot of comfort by displaying them. She left you a wonderful legacy. I hope you are doing well and finding comfort in your memories of her. What a heartfelt tribute to your momma 💜 Her quilts are so gorgeous, she was very talented. She has quite the quilt count & you can tell that she loved making them. I hope to make one in my lifetime 🤞🏼 Thank you for sharing this video.
There are no words to express how beautiful all of these quilts are. You mom was certainly very talented. I'm sure you have that talent that will be unleashed when you are ready. This tribute to your mom is just beautiful. I'm sure she is proud. Thank you so much for sharing your mom with us. Her beautiful soul lives on in you.
What a beautiful tribute to your mother. I am so sorry for your loss. May each quilt feel like a hug from your mom when you put them around your shoulders.
These quilts are gorgeous. Treasures. I would encourage you to find a well known fabric shop that has quilt classes. They can even tell you the proper way for storage but the best way is too not store them for very long, use them trade off hanging them. I think she would want all of you to use them a lot. Thank You for sharing.
absolutely beautiful. I've seen a decorating idea that's to have a vintage/antique looking ladder leaning against your wall and to drape quilts over the rungs, maybe that's a neat and more compact way to display your precious quilts that you don't want to get worn out? and you could occasionally re-fold them to show off different sections
Such a beautiful, loving tribute from your mom. You will cherish them for years and years to come and be able to pass them on to your own children. She will live on an every stitch that she made, because I am a quilter and I know how much love and care and prayers I put into my quilts that I make, and give to my family members.❤
The quilt wrapping at your wedding is such a precious idea!!! I will keeper that tucked in my brain for my kids… the oldest is 13 and the youngest is 7 😂. My favorite is the pineapple scrap quilt. Your mother was so talented! Love the picture of her smiling at the end ❤
What a Beautiful Tribute to your Mom! She was incredibly talented. You could see the Love she put in every stitch of her quilts. Thank you for sharing this with all of us.
Those are all absolutely gorgeous! I had never heard of the quilt wrap for a ceremony but I might have to attempt a quilt for my sister’s wedding. It won’t look nearly as magnificent as the one your mom made you ❤ for the small hole I would recommend watching “How to repair a quilt” by Just Get It Done Quilts here on TH-cam. I haven’t personally tried her methods but she is very skilled and if I run into that issue that video is where I would go.
Try to tuck under the open lime piece of the tear in the quilt. You may also want to use fusible web tape (iron on). Just cut the length of the lime fabric tear, put it under the tear and iron it on. This will give the torn section more body. Before ironing it on try to tuck under the frayed part so when you iron it on the gray will be secured. Try to sew tiny stitches to secure the torn section.
Your Lime Mardi Gras quilt looks like a kaleidescope pattern. The pattern layers numbers of fabrics exactly. The design must line up exactly in each layer. Use of pins through each layer of a certain part of the design helps line up the layers exactly.
Wonder if she belonged to a local guild? Took classes? She was amazing. She certainly did advanced patterns. I quilt and really enjoyed seeing her accomplishments. Her quilts would have won awards in shows.
Love the quilt you made with your Mom’s guidance. All your mom’s quilts are beautiful. Always remember how she loved her family. When sewing for others, her love kept her working.

Your Mom’s quilts need to be displayed if possible. Draped over furniture. Quilt racks etc. You will feel her love around you.
Yes, I have a few draped on a blanket rack in my office ❤️
Sewing a quilt together is not hard. Just sew 1/4” seams.
