      If you want more watts power, extra 2 HDMI inputs, and 4K upscaling for non-4K sources, get the S930H.

    hi. i just bought the denon avr-s950h receiver 7.2 channel 2019. i bought it new from best buy. when turning the receiver on or off, it sounds loud like the amp has 1,500 watts, or a super loud click. works fine. ever heard this from denon or others. should i be worried if this was you. $500 door stop.

    If it assign 2 of the speaker output to Zone 2, will I be able to use the app to stream music to Zone 2? I don't want to buy any wireless speakers.

      It is a s730. If you look at the actual receiver in the lower right corner it says s730

    What's the point of Atmos if it's only a 7.2 receiver? Give me a 7.1.4 (all amplified excluding sub of course) in the $500-$750 range then we are talking. All 11.2 receivers are in the $2k range and even then some only power 9 channels.

      that's true, but, I mean how sensitive to frequency your ears gotta be to want to buy a couple hundred dollar receivers and matching speakers or something. I could go on vacation for all that.

      its a BIG BRAIN for a home cinema for example, cuz its very easier to connect everything (computer, videogame, bluray, cable tv signal and much more...) to an receiver, to him send ALL the videos of those things (with 4k upscaling - research what it is - and with only one or two hdmi cables only) to your TV or Projector, and at the same time he directs ALL those sounds to sound speakers in 5.2 / 7.2 / 5.1.2 / 7.2.2 / 9.2 / 11.2 (and AMPLIFIED, cuz an common home - bluray theater have like 30-40rms each speaker, but with one of "those things" you can get a HUNDRED rms EASY on EACH speaker - must have the right speakers too) or any speaker configuration that u have (not every receiver supports all those i said but, its specificated on their info what their support, research what those numbers 5... 7... menas then you will understand me) .... lets make easy for you: you dont know the point of "these things" cuz you dont know nothing about anything about configs of sound, home theathers, maybe cuz your tv room is simple and its good for you, and maybe you just dont care about having a good place to watch movies (i mean... VERY BETTER, im talking about something even BETTER than PAID cine-rooms of shopping centers) there are so many good things that people do, then we see animals saying its a "waste of money" and the worst is to see also alot of people that agrees with that, OMFG

    I got this receiver for Christmas and man is it a big pile of crap. It sounds great but its so cumbersome to use. You have to connect to a TV to set it up, you can't just plug in and listen. The only thing that will play through the receiver is my record player, which is connected through the red and white. NO AUX that I can see, the usb doesn't pick up my current gen. Iphone. After less than a month, it wont pick up Wfi, the option for networks is just grayed out. Really disappointed

      Nick Shea I could tell you're a beginner. If you want a plug n play just get a sound bar or a home theater in a box. And it's a AUDIO VIDEO RECEIVER of course you need a tv to set it up what is so hard of that. And the red and white is a phono input which is auxiliary.

    Receivers are a waste of money this day in age. With so many simpler, less complicated, and more connected options and alternatives on the market receivers are starting to become a tough sale and will eventually become a niche product. no to mention denon seems to be very slow to trickle down some of its high end features.

      brendan meyler do you mind recommending one of those alternative products you were referring to? I want to upgrade my home theater system

      Kilak Receivers paired with towers are still best for audio aficionados IMO, but soundbars have narrowed the gap recently. The Sonos Playbase and the Bose SoundTouch 300 sounbars are worth listening to.

      Can't compare a sound bar with a full 5.1 channel system

    • @MarkDelawar
      @MarkDelawar 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Felipe Queirolo I agree, not by itself, but the Bose I mentioned comes with a sub and wireless rears. I was blown away on how good they sounded. Have you demo'd them? If not, you may want to have a listen. You may be surprised.

    • @justinbeamon6624
      @justinbeamon6624 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The new bose systems may sound good but the price premium is absolutely horrendous. If you want better than bose sound quality but in a real 5.1 and you're on a budget, that's what these receivers are for.
