Hey Jessi, great video but I must know how did you get your Onewheel on the airplane? TSA confiscated my GT aka “ video stabilization, Dolly “ temporarily until my friend can come pick it up. I must know how 🙏
I’ve actually never ridden an enduro so I can’t say for sure. But it’s definitely a much softer compound than the stock GT tire. It felt stable and grippy and overall a huge step up from any tire I’ve used previously. Which admittedly is just the stock Vega, whatever Burris treaded one I’ve got on my XR, and the stick GT.
Wow that’s pretty awesome ONEWHEEL S series 🤙🏾 Is it allowed now to fly your ONEWHEEL GT in the local or international flight? I hope you gonna answer my question 🙏 thanks
You sure make it look fun! It seems 62 is a bit too old to start riding a one wheel though. Falling hurts quite a bit. Pretty sure there would be lots of that 🙂
It’s an absolute blast. I’ve seen loads of people in their 60s and beyond start riding, but you’re right the falls don’t get better with age! Hopefully you get a chance to try one out someday with proper padding. If you’re ever in my neighbourhood stop by the studio and I’ll give you some lessons!
Once you get over the learning curve, it's like riding a bike. I can ride all day long and never fall. But I can also be aggressive, do tricks and fall. Just like a bike. You may have to be slightly more alert. So take the crashes now while you're at least thinking about it. Your 63 year old self will be eternally grateful.
You would have a blast and if you stay on smooth paved paths, you can float along without falls. The learning timeframe would be the concern but can also be done at a pace that reduces fall chances. You probably would have to jump off at slow speed a few times while getting comfortable with the curve of the wheel. The learning curve is usually pretty quick though. I'm 55 and have fallen a few times on my XR with street riding (either climbing hill too fast or bumpy pavement). Now just enjoy the float on mostly smooth paths on the GT and haven't had any concern of fall (well maybe trying to go around the occasionally squirrely people on paths). Still wear a helmet, wrist guards and front side elbow pad just in case. The reserve power of the GT and GT S allows easy cruising at 16-19mph without worry of nosedive.
@@slickness8892 As an old fart, I can attest to what you're saying. However you mentioned side elbow pads. Do you have any recommendations? I've had enough of hitting the inside of my elbow (on both Onewheel and skateboard). Thanks.
Well, I'm still bummed I don't have an actual hoverboard yet - you promised, Back To The Future, YOU PROMISED - but this is a pretty damn good replacement 😏🤙
“Basically, everything about the GT but better” So, no more footpad recalls, no more fragile controllers, and no more motors that overheat and have to be replaced every 500 miles? This sounds like the GT I should have been sold 2 years ago.
Lol. Footpads aren't recalled but they suck just as bad as GT V2 they sent out. Motor still overheats if you ride it on trails long enough OR if they actually allowed you to put the power through it instead of limiting it via bullshit hardware. It's still trash, just faster version of it.
I'd like to know for $1,000 more if it at least fixed the xt60 connectors and motor harness problem since it still has the same weak axle that will snap.
It's the exact same board with a few thicker wires in it..the motor is thesame motor, I'll bet on it. They basically just changed the settings on the pcb.
I honestly don’t know! All I know is I’ve personally never experienced any of these issues and I do not baby my stuff in the slightest. I’m also a pretty light dude which I’m sure helps.
Have you had to send your board back for any repairs at all? because that could have been one of the times but they just replace parts so you'd never know. I had a problem with the balance wires when they installed it I had to fix it myself also had the problem with xt60 connectors with fretting it didn't even come loose.
@@-JohnSmith- I have to send my GT in for repairs but it’s definitely not a broken axle. Other than that, nope! I’m still riding my OG XR as my primary board and other than the tire it’s completely stock. I’ve ridden through at least 4 Canadian winters on if, and dropped it down a massive escarpment twice. The thing is a tank.
@@JesseDriftwoodso you probably did have the problem with an xt60 connector and if it's out of warranty they will lie charge you $600, people have had the same even after they got it back, board still shut off because they're still using the same xt60 connectors.
Amazing, however, they sacrificed range for speed and power. Since I am not a racer and I like long rides I will stick with the GT for the 32M range compared with the 24M on S, also, I will be saving $1000 which I can get the new iPhone 15 instead.
@@JesseDriftwoodno.. its EXACTLY the same board as gt. They took out a few cells, new color brand, and beefed up some wire harnesses to handle the increase in voltage. The motor ( quote me here ) is the SAME motor, they just changed the magnet angle . WTch Tony from float wheels videos, fm just did all his suggestions. This is a gt with the pcb settings changed
@@MrDmadness I like Tony, but he doesn’t have a GTS to make those claims. I’ve got a float wheel motor in my office and I’m currently waiting for the rest of it to show up. I’m sure it’ll be a great option for some people, but IMO it’s a different target audience. Loads of people won’t want to buy using crypto, or want to assemble themselves, or want to support what seems like a Chinese clone, or trust a companies first product etc. I’m not saying these things are necessarily good reasons, but they are going to compel a lot of people. The floatwheel is also heavier and (subjectively speaking) a bit uglier haha. I’ve followed Tony’s process since the beginning and think he’s made a lot of really great decisions, and it’s super cool to see the BTS of product development. Either way I’m fascinated by the progress of the tech and am really curious to see how this sport evolves in the future.
They couldn't have picked a better person to highlight the new board. Looks great but with future motions anti right to repair status, I'll never buy another board. I currently can't really use mine fully because the battery range is shot and I can't access voltage. Something simple as that ruins the board. FFM
Do you have any figures on how common this is? It’s never happened on any of my boards, or any of my friends boards that live near me. I’m sure it does happen, I just wish I had numbers that weren’t anecdotal.
@@JesseDriftwood It's the fact that it's happening at all, I got up to 3 stair drops but had to stop once all the stories came out, that's just one issue with FM but still holding me back. It's just time for me to make the move to Floatwheel 🤙🏽
@@-JohnSmith- The fact that’s it’s happening at all? That’s an impossibly high standard to hold for anything. You don’t think floatwheels are going to run into any issues? @@JesseDriftwoodlike I said just one issue with FM if I had to do it all over again I would choose Floatwheel, GT was my first board and I've got 6,000 mi on it now. I'll gladly support a company that doesn't treat its customers like future motion.
@@-JohnSmith- It’s your money (or in this case crypto). The thing is we still have no way of knowing what floatwheel would be like if they hit scale like FM. Growing a business is insanely hard, rooting for the underdog is insanely easy, understanding the nuance between these things on the other hand… not so much.
XR is still my favorite onewheel. No more onewheel from future motion unless swappable solid state battery, titanium frame and less than 30 lb of weight
I’ve got an ADV it’s super powerful and has great range, but somehow my VESC tuning got all wonky and now it rides like trash, I need to start over calibrating everything from scratch. It’s also way heavier and that front grab handle is truly useless. I think Tony built a great board, but these aren’t exactly competing against each other for me. The GTS is the best board I’ve ever owned by a mile, commuting on it is so fun and I can quickly pick it up and bring it around with me, the ADV on the other hand… not so much!
The GT will still exist in the lineup though. This board was specifically made for racing. It's always a tradeoff between power, weight, and range. I love that the GTS lighter, and almost never have range issues for the type of riding I do, but I know lots of people who would really benefit from both.
2 huge downsides to this new One Wheel is the price and the speed is dangerously too fast. Soneone taking a spill at top speed will break more than their clavicles I’m sure it’s a rush to ride but I’ll take a pass. I will still get a Pint X for casual riding.
I guess by "fast" you mean significantly slower than the GT in terms of actual top speed (as opposed to artificial limits like the start of pushback, which was raised by virtue of boosting voltage with a single series battery that is unable to sustain the high voltage output for very long, thus resulting in lower range and a higher chance of nosediving after the battery falls below a much higher threshold). The purpose of this board is to address the CPSC recall complaint by boosting top voltage output to a level that it can handle Amperage draw spikes that cause all other Onewheels to spontaneously nosedive, with NO advance warning, when the ESC is tasked by the terrain and load to put out more current that the BMS can handle, and the ESC/BMS responds by cutting all power to the motor. Forcing firmware updates that install haptic buzz do NOT address this real world issue, and will NOT satisfy the CPSC once the reports of serious injury continue to come in, from people riding updated boards.
True! But not everyone wants to build a PC, even if it outperforms an off the shelf Mac. This GTS is the best board I’ve ever owned by a mile. I almost never ride my Floatwheel now.
@@lukeridess My floatwheel has some weird calibration stuff I need to fix, since the motor behaves quite different on the nose and tail. It’s also way heavier and the front handle (which is oddly important to me for commuting around the city) is basically useless on it. The range is a lot more though and the power is at least as strong, if not more.
guessing they still wont let you do your own basic maintenance even though its now $1,000 more.... also assuming they will charge more for their "exclusive" repair service and proprietary parts. Ill keep my VESC XR, and keep telling everyone else to do the same. They dont care about their customers and their riders are paid to say what Future Motion wants them to say.
I hear you, and I’m honestly torn on this topic. I actually don’t think they’re a shitty company at all, I think they exist in a shitty culture. FM are getting hit from both sides on this issue. The government wants them to crack down way harder, customers sue if they get injured, and bankruptcy is a real possibility if either of those things get slightly out of hand. How do you make a board that is both safer for the consumer, while also allowing them to customize or change parts themselves? I wonder if something similar to what we see in aviation might be necessary. Preventative maintenance is ok to do on your own aircraft, but other tasks need to be done by a certified mechanic.
@@JesseDriftwood equating the engineering complexity of an aircraft to an electric skateboard is absurd. I do ALL the maintenance on my car, which goes 80 mph every single day on my commute. GTFOH with that comment man.
@@simbadlemarin1815 It isn’t about the complexity, it’s about the level of risk involved. If I swap the BMS on my electric bike and it fails while I’m riding it, no problem. If the same thing happens while I’m doing 20~25mph on a Onewheel, the results can be catastrophic. Imagine doing the exact same maintenance on your car but knowing that if you made a mistake your car would fall 1000 feet out of the sky. The issue here isn’t whether or not you personally are competent enough to do the work, but what happens when people who aren’t competent enough do the work, get injured, and then sue FM. As I said before, I’m torn on this issue. I’m just arguing the other side because it feels like so many people have no nuance at all on the issue, they just get angry. I genuinely do understand your point, and there’s a lot I agree with. I think ethically if I purchase a product, than I have the right to do anything I want to that product. It’s mine, I own it. But the general public doesn’t give a shit about that. Look at the public perception of onewheels now after the CPSC shit. I’ve gotten phone calls and emails and texts from so many random family members because they think onewheels are all being mandatorily recalled because they are suddenly killing users. Imagine just how much more prevalent that would be in a world where there’s a huge increase in DIY repairs. I agree with TFL that FM should look into teaming up with certified repair shops to swap and repair certain critical components, and sell other ones. And they should make getting that accreditation available widely and quickly to as many cities as possible. But what do I know? I’m just a TH-camr who likes making movies and riding electric vehicles, I don’t know how to run a massive company.
@@Onewheeli think it would be very good if you make an official announcement by yourself on your website for example... i live in europe and there is no way to fix anything without spending too much money by sending fhe board to USA. Damn you ,
You make these look
So cool and make me want another one lol great vid
Let’s get it 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Haven’t watched it but jumping in to say it’s the best already
man these look incredibly fun!
also 7:19 pinecone bonk goes hard!!!
I was channeling my inner Shaun Hover.
I get the GT as my first board. I dont race, I dont do tricks, but i what the S-Series xD
Also great quality video, as always.
Awesome time to watch.
Hey Jessi, great video but I must know how did you get your Onewheel on the airplane? TSA confiscated my GT aka “ video stabilization, Dolly “ temporarily until my friend can come pick it up.
I must know how 🙏
I never fly with my Onewheel! Not worth the risk.
Man I love your intros Jesse, they are so creative and fun!🤘
Cool, but...nah. As much as i love the specs on this board, there's no way i can justify the price point. I'll just stick to an 84v VESC setup.
Nice !! Good old Santa Cruz 🤙😊
Nice, Bodhi bringin back that kendama life baby
loving the mewithoutyou shirt
This is epic!
What about the nose dive? That fixed?
Now thay need to make a onewheel for more casual riders that doesn't really go that fast, but can go very far
That’s a fantastic idea.
It’s called the GT
@@alexbowden52 The GT still rips.
Glad I watched to the last second xD
How's the tire softness? Is it comparable to an enduro?
I’ve actually never ridden an enduro so I can’t say for sure. But it’s definitely a much softer compound than the stock GT tire. It felt stable and grippy and overall a huge step up from any tire I’ve used previously. Which admittedly is just the stock Vega, whatever Burris treaded one I’ve got on my XR, and the stick GT.
If only the GT had more clearance Id buy it. Maybe we can get a pint version? 🤔
I’m hoping they make one! If that thing went faster and had a more stable tire it would be amazing!
As an EUC “rider” this appeals because of how light comparatively it is. Priced a bit higher than I’d like but probably not more than a EUC.
Bro these floatwheel/Vesc fans needs some love… What’s the point in trolling all FM posts to say they are better... You need some therapy friends 😉
Fr, just let people like what they like
Does it have batteries in the nose as well as in the tail?
Wow that’s pretty awesome ONEWHEEL S series 🤙🏾
Is it allowed now to fly your ONEWHEEL GT in the local or international flight?
I hope you gonna answer my question 🙏 thanks
I don’t think so! I’m pretty sure the battery sizes are too big for air travel. The Pint might be able to fly with though.
@@JesseDriftwood I appreciate that sir thank you 🙏 so much for your reply keep shredding bro🤙🏾
@@JesseDriftwood I appreciate that sir thank you 🙏 so much for your reply keep shredding bro🤙🏾
You sure make it look fun! It seems 62 is a bit too old to start riding a one wheel though. Falling hurts quite a bit. Pretty sure there would be lots of that 🙂
52, and a bit of falling. It does hurt more now... I'm not seeing that getting better for when I'm 62 ;)
Thanks.
So cool video !!!
Well, I'm still bummed I don't have an actual hoverboard yet - you promised, Back To The Future, YOU PROMISED - but this is a pretty damn good replacement 😏🤙
great video guys!
Those slo-mo B-roll shots are sick... and that was the bestest outro 😂
Ooooh I want one! So I could get lost in the city lol
I do that all the time! Or rather I used to, but I’ve now explored seemingly every possible nook and cranny in my city.
“Basically, everything about the GT but better”
So, no more footpad recalls, no more fragile controllers, and no more motors that overheat and have to be replaced every 500 miles? This sounds like the GT I should have been sold 2 years ago.
Lol. Footpads aren't recalled but they suck just as bad as GT V2 they sent out. Motor still overheats if you ride it on trails long enough OR if they actually allowed you to put the power through it instead of limiting it via bullshit hardware. It's still trash, just faster version of it.
Wow, I woould take the incerase of power over range any day!
Not for $900 more. It turns into a $3500 anchor when it runs out of power. 😂
All this onewheel chatter and you have a freaking me without you shirt on?! What is this, January 1979?!
I saw a terrible crash! (And I couldn’t help but laugh!)
Weird thing to notice but isn’t Jack racing Jesse on Bodhi’s GTS and not a GT? Or is Bodhi rocking a GT the whole time? 4:10
Bodhi was using a GT-s wrapped in GT graphics 🤙🏼
You’re right actually! I’m 90% sure Bodhi’s board with the pink bumpers was his regular GT.
Stoked to have to at the tip of my fingers
I just got my gt a couple months ago.. 🤬 now I gota buy the gts
Man i wish onewheels were allowed in my country :/ you can get a big fine and the board gets confiscated
Seems nice.
8:23 I was going to say, with Bodhi expect to have something on the GTS to be pink.
What dreams are made of
Amazing, however, they sacrificed range for speed and power. Since I am not a racer and I like long rides I will stick with the GT for the 32M range compared with the 24M on S, also, I will be saving $1000 which I can get the new iPhone 15 instead.
Cool ✌️
Same thing as gt just tweeked the voltage which is why you get less mileage. Not worth it
Very not true.
My understanding is that the cells are different than what’s in a GT, the BMS is also rewired and upgraded to handle the additional voltage.
Why would I quote you on how this motor was built rather than the people who built the motor? I could be wrong, but I’m not going to just take the word of people who are watching launch videos and speculating as gospel.

"40 kilometers an hour"😂
It seems the EUC crowd has found my video lol. I get it, I have a v11, but they are such massively different vehicles.
@@JesseDriftwoodI'm not a Euc guy. The comment was based on me assuming that you're an American, but are using kilometers as a reference of speed in order to sell a high number.

@@JesseDriftwood ok
For half the price get a floatwheel and bang bumpers.
$3,200 - I will continue riding my GT!
Hell yea! Most people won’t need to upgrade. Like Kyle said, this is a board for a very specific user.
If something should happen to Onewheel like to BoastedBoards, I think Jesse will buy and overtake the company haha
They couldn't have picked a better person to highlight the new board. Looks great but with future motions anti right to repair status, I'll never buy another board. I currently can't really use mine fully because the battery range is shot and I can't access voltage. Something simple as that ruins the board. FFM
Yeah... my board's battery is shot.. i miss riding it. : (
Hey man look into a floatwheel
I had the XR and now the GT I will not be getting the new one but the GT is enough power for me
I really love my XR, and I'm dreading it dying 'cause the GT just doesn't appeal to me. Wish they'd stuck with the 6" tire
Still no fender or fangs included...
Not wearing a full face on these is crazy. It's all fun and games until it cuts out and you faceplant into the asphalt.
Everything is not new still have those weak axles that are going to snap
Physics exist, there’s no getting around it.
Anyway, if you get a floatwheel I hope you have a great time! I’ll be testing one out in the very near future, just waiting for the rest of it to ship.
There's a lack of funk in this video. But it does look fast.
Great video bro! But!.. $3500 for a onewheel, that's way too steep
For most people yeah! Which is why this isn’t a wheel for most people, it’s built for racing. Think about how much a good mountain bike costs.
7:17 tire is cushy
floatwheel
I’ve got an ADV it’s super powerful and has great range, but somehow my VESC tuning got all wonky and now it rides like trash, I need to start over calibrating everything from scratch. It’s also way heavier and that front grab handle is truly useless. I think Tony built a great board, but these aren’t exactly competing against each other for me. The GTS is the best board I’ve ever owned by a mile, commuting on it is so fun and I can quickly pick it up and bring it around with me, the ADV on the other hand… not so much!
I wish it wasn't so expensive
It still looks super dorky compared to the XR. Why is it so chubby if the battery is smaller?
Man FM really knows their target audience.. Old men with plenty of coin in their wallet.
Have you ever shopped for high end mountain bikes? Or really any other action sport? Shit gets expensive real fast.
Going fast is cool, but not being able to do it for long is what kills it for me. Should have had same/more range than the GT
The GT will still exist in the lineup though. This board was specifically made for racing. It's always a tradeoff between power, weight, and range. I love that the GTS lighter, and almost never have range issues for the type of riding I do, but I know lots of people who would really benefit from both.
"did I mention" ... Made in the U.S.A 🇺🇲
2 huge downsides to this new One Wheel is the price and the speed is dangerously too fast.
Why not make a FourWheel OneWheel with a handle for us ole gizzards to have fun with besides the nurses?
Or just use a GT-V Kit and get even more power 😂😂
True! But not everyone wants to build a PC, even if it outperforms an off the shelf Mac. This GTS is the best board I’ve ever owned by a mile. I almost never ride my Floatwheel now.
@@JesseDriftwood Good point, how does the GTS compare to the floatwheel?
@@lukeridess My floatwheel has some weird calibration stuff I need to fix, since the motor behaves quite different on the nose and tail. It’s also way heavier and the front handle (which is oddly important to me for commuting around the city) is basically useless on it. The range is a lot more though and the power is at least as strong, if not more.
That one wheel is fast, but has nothing on the speed at which you edited this video!
Costs more than my first car
guessing they still wont let you do your own basic maintenance even though its now $1,000 more.... also assuming they will charge more for their "exclusive" repair service and proprietary parts.
Ill keep my VESC XR, and keep telling everyone else to do the same. They dont care about their customers and their riders are paid to say what Future Motion wants them to say.
no, not for an extra $1000
Actually $900 they upped the price on the gt 😂
😎 *Promosm*
Nice but too expensive
>> 69 number ov volts Nobody ever did that before
have you tried allowing someone other then yourself to build one
I wish Future Motion wasn't such a shitty company or I would buy one. 3200 for a board I can't repair myself is garbage right out of the box.
@@JesseDriftwood we've been trying to figure out how to explain this for a long time, but it seems you've just done it.
