I *may* be able to offer a little insight on these. I went to training on them. My biggest take-away is that these are very much a k-beauty inspired kind of product. Not going to be for everyone. They are not very opaque and they aren't meant to be. Think of the watercolor effect you get with lipstain but in a stick format. They give a kiss of color to the lip with soft edges that have a blurred effect. I like them but like i said, not for everyone. They are a nice alternative for people who love the look of mattes but can't stand the dryness. Also, people who want a "softer" red, orange, pink, etc. might like these because the color is muted.
Thanks for the info! Reds and bright colors always scare me but look good on others maybe I’ll try a red in this formulation.
She forced it to look the way she wanted, I stead of using it as it should have been used.
I feel the review is skewed for that reason, and we get very little grasp on how they would actually look.
I need this in a brighter color then. I bought My Tweedy, and I hate it.

I need them all!! They were all gorgeous on you, especially with your eye look. My Tweedy and Sultriness stood out, they were fab on you! You are one of the only TH-camrs still reviewing MAC and I appreciate it! I know most of their recent launches haven't been that exciting, but I still the love the brand.

I got Burning Love , it's so pretty. I first tried it by applying a light swipe and rubbing it in like a stain. It looked so good. Then I built it up and lightly smoothed out the edges . It reads more like a smooth blurred stain that you would get with a regular pigmented Matte trying to do the stain look. I heard a lot of people saying the medium to darker/bolder shades performed better than the light nude shades. Burning love is a berry/burgundy/wine shade. Not sure of a MAC shade to compare it to. Maybe Diva meets Hang Up but Matte. It isn't as dark or purple as it looks online.
If you watch MAC's videos with the MAC artist explaining the lipstick.. The idea of it makes more sense. They are suppose to be blurred and stain like... Thus why they are less pigmented than a typical MAC matte lipstick... So you can wear it light and blur out the edges. They don't ever describe it as a powder finish. I agree the name is deceiving , but what you experienced is what they intended... As well as for MAC Mua's to get the blurred/stain look in less time and steps backstage at fashion shows... Me too. I've tried a lot of other lipsticks from high end to drugstore and MAC is still my fave! (Still LOVE the smell also! ❤️)

Just picked up two last night: Mull it over and Fall in Love. LOVEEEE these shades!
I tried the Devoted To Chili in store and fell in love with it. So beautiful. I think this is a very nice addition to their line in terms of finish. Like nothing I've tried before. It's different though and might take some getting use to but I like it. Also love that the bullets have a matte touch, so chic.
I think these are so gorgeous. I saw Shaaanxo swatch all of these and the color selection selection is so pretty but I wish they’d released them for spring or at least summer. I loved almost every color. The swatches on Temptalia made them look pretty chalky and like they really pull into lip lines but you made them look great. I can’t wait to try them.

Basically i love the formula and hate the smell :D
I have Burning Love 305, Mull It Over 314, Lasting Passion 315 and Devoted To Chili 316 .
Initially they feel creamy and almost moisturizing but after a while they get more matte . On me they leave a stain , especially the brighter or darker shades. They transfer a bit but the stain helps them fade gracefully.
I don't like very defined edges (on myself) and these are great to blur or make an ombre with multiple shades. And i actually prefer that i can build the color since i am a bit afraid of bolder shades :D
For me the only minus is the smell, i would recommend trying it in store if you are sensitive to scents.
(for reference, i like the YSL Tatouage and the Matte Shakers from Lancome while i dislike drying liquid lipsticks)
Do you notice it when it's on your lips? Just curious. I am with you about the smell. It is yucks!!! Haha. But didn't notice the smell on my lips yet. Only just started wearing it. The taste is sweet though. 🤔🤨 Never expected a taste for this lippie.
I noticed it for 10 min maybe on my lips ,after that it is mostly gone. I am keeping them with the caps open for a few days and i think the smell is slowly getting less intense.
Yup, the smell from the bullet isn't as intense today as it was when I opened it fresh from the box yesterday. Maybe my imagination though. Been wearing it all day today and still haven't noticed any smell. I guess my nose isn't too sensitive. Haha.
One thing I experienced was that when the colour wears off on my lips, it sort of settled into the lines of my lips, so I get streaks of colour. Bothered me a little, but then I just reapplied. I am still testing it out, but I just really love the soft focus effect. So...I'm going to another store to see if I can get my hands on more of the colours I want. :D
I also noticed it settle a bit in some of my lines but only with the darkest shade i have, Burning Love. I just pressed my lips and it got better, i like that it can move a bit and it doesn't stay on like cement .

I adore them, I wore all the colors on my lips yesterday and you are right, the darker lipsticks are better than the lighter colors, they are super comfortable and hydrating and they lasted great on me even with eating. My favorites are the red, hot pink and my absolute fav is Impulsive. Everyone who tried them yesterday in store loved the texture but some people had a problem with finding a shade, there are not enough vampy shades for fall and not enough darker nudes

Thank you for this video! I haven’t seen a lot of people talking about these. I bought Shocking Rev yesterday because the Mac rep had it on and she had had it on for four hours and it still looked great. Beautiful on you too! Please update to see if you like them and the wear time.
Mel, you have to try it as cream blusher. I got Sultriness and dabbed a bit on my cheeks. It's phenomenal! It give an almost powdery but makes your cheeks look supple at the same time. Trying in as eyeshadow soon! So excited!

Bobbi Browns new matte lipsticks are great. Like a powder matte. Love them so, I just ordered more. Their liquid lips are great too.

I grabbed Mull Me Over yesterday, I feel like the formula is similar to some of the Maybelline mattes, of even the Milani mattes - like a soft silicone base with powder pigments, so it's got a little slip, instead of a waxy base that doesn't stay slippy.
I really loved your whole look when you started. I’m looking forward to that video. I see you were wearing the Pillowtalk lip in the new formula. I got mine yesterday and I like it so far. Feels like a balm. But gives enough coverage.
Hi Mel great vid as usual! If you are looking for powdery, super matte lipsticks, check out inglot! Their matte lipsticks are truly powdery with minimal moisture. The best way for me to describe it is like a chalk lol. When applying these on bare lips, you can def feel the "tugging" sensation. I'll say these inglot lipsticks are something that people'll either love it or hate it because of its formula

I just got three of the lipsticks today (Lasting Passion, Fall in Love and A Little Tamed). The others I wanted (Burning Love, Mandarin O, Mull It Over) were sold out. Not sure about Style Shocked! Orange generally looks good on me but...it's so bright! Looks amazing on you.The nude shades don't appeal to me. The Mac artist who helped me had suggested I may enjoy layering the nude shades with the brighter colours to create some variety and dimension...but nah.
I haven't worn it for a whole day yet. My initial impression was I like it a lot. It's buildable so I can vary the intensity of the colour. I don't really feel it much on my lips and I am always looking for a lightweight lippie. It straddles the line between matte and cream, which is also a kind of finish I love wearing.
I don't think it's going to be long-wearing either. It better fade nicely or I'll be upset! Hahaha. I'm not mad about the slippery feel because it's all lip balm-feeling. There's a weird scent but I didn't notice it on initial application. Will see if I notice it when I'm wearing the lippie for longer.

I picked up shocking revelation, influentualy it, and burning love. I'm on the fence about them still. Not sure of I will be getting more or not. I like the nude, but I also found it wore better/longer on me when I put it over another nude I couldn't make work. I'm wearing burning love today, I'm finding it's lasting longer than the nude, but I do feel my lips a bit dry ( which is normal for me) and not sure I'm loving the color after all... My fav I think is going to be shocking revelation, which I plan on wearing tomorrow 😁. Thanks for the review ❤️

I was hoping these would be a dupe for the Pat McGrath MatteTrance lipsticks, but these look way less pigmented! But I agree the darker shades were still gorgeous!!
You know, it wasn't too long ago I ordered MAC lipstick in A48 Davidblond. It says it's a luster lipstick but to me it was more like a nude balm. I didn't send ir back b/c I really like the color. Just wish it had more color payoff. Its performance reminded me of the first few you demo'd here. As always thanks Mel.

Love the last 3 colors on you best but the others looked great on you as well. Haven't tried any Mac lipsticks. When I first started buying makeup (years and years and years ago) no one at the Mac counter would give me the time of day so I just kept walking. Too bad cuz I'm sure I would have loved their products. Anyway, great review as always. ♡♡♡

I have been using the Chanel velour extreme matte in 114 and 116 and I love them. They feel good on my lips. They have a powder lipstick but that look is not my thing. I did buy the lip balm and powder duo in Rose Tempera 418 but felt that was a fail for me. I like the feel of a true lipstick whether in a bullet or liquid like double intensity . Wears a long time easy feel on lips and not transferable . Thank you for this video. I agree last 3 colours looked best on you .
I have used Devoted to Chili everyday since I acquired it...... It is whittling down. I love slapping it in the middle of my lips and having it blur out. Wanting more soon!

This formula have been released by Kiko Cosmetics in their limited (spring, if im not mistaken) edition collection. Kiko Cosmetics are so underrated. I noticed this italian cosmetics company released new formula 1st before anyone else. They re.eased the magnetic eyeshadows formula before every other brand too.

From what you said they don't feel powdery but they do look like a powder on camera, maybe that's what it's supposed to be? I have no idea since i haven't tried them, but they definitely look like a powder colour :)

I`m confused to why you layer so much product on the lips.First one you swiped it across the lips about 30-40 times.
Yeah that messes with the texture & feel. They're not supposed to be opaque.
it makes for a skewed reiew, and no idea of how the lipstick would actually look on lips if applied properly.
I usually like her reviews, even if I rarely buy expensive makeup, but this review was pointless.
yeah they are not suppose to be that.They don`t say it is suppose to feel try either.I dont really understand this review.Confusing to be because I always trust her views but this is a bit off for me.Because for what it is suppose to be it is really good.It has a slip but they are not drying and still looks nice on the lips.No one want dry powdery lips
@@cathrineniko6634 Apparently she doesn't like sheer lipsticks, and that is fair. Maybe she didn't realize that before getting them, until after trying them in the video.
A review of the product for what it is would be appreciated. Maybe she can give some more feedback at a later date.
if you want a true powder lipstick you should try cle cosmetics melting lip powders. they sell it on free people and their website. you can see the actual loose powder but when it goes on the lips it feels almost like that wet becca powder. i love the shade hot chocolate
Mel!!! Where’s A Little Tamed’? It’s GORG.. btw.. flashback to 1992/3 Chanel had a line of twist up lips that were 100% velvet!! Just like these but very 90’s colors. I remember bc the first lipstick I EVER OWNED as a ‘ starting 7th grade gift’ ( I know crazy but this is when my stepmom just started dating my dad so she was EXTRA w the gifts) the shade was a super deep pumpkin lolll- but I’d give anything if Chanel would bring them back. These MAC powder kiss remind me of lime crime Plushies in real lipstick form
Cle has a melting lip powder not sure if it’s what you’re looking for but it’s cool because it’s a literal powder.
Mel, I know you have tried a lot of Pat McGrath eyeshadows, and the astral that fetish bombs and highlighter but have you ever tried the mattetrance lipsticks? I find them to have a true powder finish that settles in and lasts a very long time. Forgive me if I miss somewhere and your videos that you've already reviewed those. PMG also has the luxerance lipsticks which are more of a traditional cream Style. I want to try this Mac ones out now too! There's also NYX velvet suede matte lipsticks that appear to have the same texture and powdery finish... I'm dying to see if it's a dupe for PMG!
I love the PM lips! I definitely think her matte formula is more powdery than these but still not quite what I am trying to find. I ADORE her luxe formula... 😻😻😻

Thank you for this video. New sub! I’m obsessed with lipstick. I love the matte look however I am very dry so the mattes I’ve been trying suck all the hydration out of my lips and really intensives the lines. I’m going to try these thank you!!

Actually I think that’s the idea behind the whole line- check out any Korean( not Korean in America) beauty site and you’ll see how these can be used to mimic those looks. Btw my Meeshalou Cosmetics Fawn palette arrived. I NEEEED the Queen Bee as well
