I'm a new dental assistant I just started this job about four weeks ago. Every day is always up and down I'm either doing something right or I'm doing something wrong. I'm trying the best as I can but it's very frustrating to the point where I'm like "can I really do this?" I don't know if I'm the only one who feels this way but I always watch your videos and it helps me understand that I'm not alone and not to give up. And I thank you for that❤️
I am an endo assistant as well. It's very stressful at times, but every job can be stressful at times! I'm a new dental assistant & there have been many times I wanted to quit but assisting has gotten easier for me and I'm really getting into the groove of things. Long story short, i'm glad I didn't quit. Keep praying about it❤️
Oh wow, how long have you been a dental assistant for?? And what made you pick endo? I’m glad I didn’t give up either. Things are looking up here :3 I forsure will keep praying 🙏🏽
@@MelanieLunaDiaz 6 months ! I just graduated highschool, I took the dental assisting course my junior and senior year. My teacher said I was doing very well in the endo chapter we were learning and she reached out to an Endodontist and got me the job from there! I did my internship there and as soon as I was done with school, they hired me full-time!The Dr. I work for can be hard to work with at times because he gets frustrated a lot & takes it out on the assistants which sucks... But I try not to take it to heart. I just recently assisted in my first apicoectomy & he's been telling me i've been doing great ! So I am really grateful I didn't quit. There were days I'd just cry or be so mentally and physically exhausted I just couldn't do anything else but it's definitely a challenge but I push through everyday and try to give my patients the BEST care possible!🦷🙌🏼 From one dental sis to another, your doing great! I love your videos ❤️ Keep pushing!
i absolutely love your videos not only because you’re a DA like me but also because your so open with your faith! i am in a very similar place in my life right now where i don’t think being a DA is for me especially with the dentist i work with but i want to trust that God has a plan set for me by being here! Love you again!!!! 🥰🥰
Thank you for your support:) and yes, when I started my channel my goal was always to bring people close to God ^.^ and awe yes don’t worry! God will put things into place that will make any future transition for you as smooth as butter ❤️
Being a male dental assistant for 12 years I was exhausted. Retired tried something new for the next 2 year. Pay and hours are horrible in some job. Recently went back into the field. Got hired the same day at a different office with more pay. Love my dentist. Hes great. The patient are welcoming. The hours are great.
I’m going through something similar, I got a new job offer at a new office after almost a year working there I don’t wanna leave them hanging but I need more hours and money😕
Melanie! Im going through the same thing. Short staff offices can be super stressful. In my situation the boss doesnt want to hire more people 🙃 hes a narcissist opportunist boss. The other 2 assistants make it better but they feel exhausted as well. The environment has such a negative energy now. But I’m going to leave it in god’s hands. He’ll arrange everything and we’ll be in a better place 🙏🏻
Yes, honestly that’s all you can do in those tour of situations. I’m sorry you’re going through that. But these experiences shape us and help us be more appreciative once we get to a better place 💕 God bless 🙏🏽
I was a dental assistant I quit a year ago it's super stressful I was in the front and the back it's crazy I would get in at 6 and eat my lunch at 4:30 p.m😑 the office I worked for closes at 5 and all the hygienist would get mad at me when I worked in the front like I was Literally trained for 1 day to know everything in the front what more did they expect 😂 ugh I've been trying to find other offices but mostly all of them are the same
The first office I worked in was short staffed in the back. It got to the point where we started designating an assistant assistant. Which was a front office person who could take down and set up rooms and seat patients for me. It worked, for awhile.
Wow, did the front office mind helping? My manager has been helping me some times but she says she shouldn’t have to and that I need to pick up the pace with cleaning even though once I’m done With a procedure I already have to get the next patient seated 🤦🏻♀️
@@MelanieLunaDiaz I'm sure they weren't fans, but I explained to the doc that I was on the verge of getting burned out. He understood and asked how they could help to make sure I wasn't stressed. It was also always expressed that it was only temporary until we got another assistant. They did pretty well since they were given an option to choose who it would be.
It’s really great that they helped you not feel burnt out! Over here we only have two front office and the manageris the only one Who can help back here but she choses not to most of the time ;-; oh 🐳
It’s not right that they would leave you to be the only assistant in the back. I know what it’s like and it’s not just patients you also have to worry about maintaining the office like cleaning rooms and instruments. Don’t wait for something to happen before you leave because it can be very sudden and you might not leave your 2 week notice. I have been an assistant for 3 years and have been in your position and my sign was simply if I’m not happy and don’t see myself growing, I will leave. Now I am working at a office that’s going to make me their floor supervisor. A position I would have never even been considered for in my last office. It all depends on the people that you work with but try and leave off on a good note so you can be considered later if you decide to go back. Good luck :)
Thank you for this :) I know it wasn’t exactly their fault that I was the only assistant, since my coeworker not being there anymore was extremely unexpected .-. Now we have TWO other assistants so my workload has been relieved alot! :D and I am so glad that you found a position you like :)
Im a super new baby DA (three months in) and everyday is a rollercoaster to say the least. How long do you think it took you to feel comfortable? It’s so hard to gage where I’m at and I find that to be super stressful on long hard days 😓. Thank you for your updates and videos ❤️
Thanks for watching! And LOL “super new baby DA” LOVE THAT 👶🏻 ❤️ But yeah tbh in General dentistry , even at 6 months I was still learning something new every day because you do so many things and you don’t do them enough times in General that you constantly have to re-learn things as they come up. With the endodontic practice that I’m at right now, it took me 3 months to feel comfy bc that is all that we were doing. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but I’d say for General it would take a good year to feel comfy -Praying for u ❤️
I have been assisting for a year now and WOW have I learned a lot about offices… tmr will be my 4th office and this is a PRIVATE small family owned way better !!! The other 3 I worked at were corporations and it just sucked. Hopefully I get the job tmr :,)) but it’s crazy I remember telling you if the test was easy to pass online which it was lolll ;) (anyways I literally didn’t show up to my last office so basically I just QUIT) wish me luck tmr 🥵
I’m also a endo assistant. It’s hard work and tiring, but fortunately we have a sterilization tech and we break up our appointments into 2sessions so that helps
