"WARRIORS! COME OUT AND PLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!" That film really has aged very well, and it IS a good film. Even if MST3K constantly quoted that line when applicable. 🤣🤣 Speaking of MST3K, they also loved quoting "Turn it off! Turn it OFF! TURN IT OFF!!" from Hardcore.
In his review of Walter Hills 1981 "Southern Comfort" Ebert came around to giving it more credit than he initially did... - "His approach bothered me so much in “The Warriors” that I overlooked, I now believe, some of the real qualities of that film."
All these movies came out when I was in high school. I remember watching Hardcore several times just to see nudity (the 70's were a porn-starved time for a teenager, you had to take what you could get). That was probably the opposite intended effect of the movie. The Warriors I watched countless times just because it was a kickass movie.I also liked Southern Comfort, partly because I am from Louisiana and had grandparents living in Cajun country.
Both are still a bit stilted here, especially when Ebert tries to laugh(ow) or when Gene reads the cards too quickly. But they're getting there. Couple of their takes don't age too well, Warriors esp
Thank you! Never seen this one

Gene and Roger sure dropped the ball on this one. 40+ years later, The Warriors is the only one people remember.

It’s a comic book type movie. Fantasy ground in reality
Great TrainRobbery!

Man, S&E really didn't understand _The Warriors._ Imagine giving it 👎👎 because it wasn't "authentic".
It’s certainly held up well
@@lerm2866 I agree.
The WARRIORS is awesome. Its a comic book. They missed the point
Ebert called Sally Field, Sally Fields.
HARDCORE is excellent.
They missed THE WARRIORS but aced THE BRINKS JOB.
Warriors is bad because its too stylistic and not real. Two reasons i love it. Wrong choice here guys.
The warriors is very cartoon like
The Warriors ten worst? Yea. People really hate that one.
There's a reason why people still dress up like the characters in The Brinks Job for Halloween, ya haters.
