    This is the best goat milk recipe I have seen, most recipes use a very small amount of goat milk and mostly water, thank you for sharing!

    You can make your lye days before. Do its not hot. No need to freeze milk. Same as oils. Make ahead of time.

      I like using the heat transfer method, does lye behave the same when it's cold when combined to oils? does it warm up? I never tried it like that

    I love your soap recipes! Your instructions are very clear and simple to follow. Can you do a “clean up” video to show us how you clean your equipment? I’m especially interested to learn how to safely clean the container/glass measuring cups that come in contact with the powdered lye and the lye mixture. Thanks so much!

      sure i can do a video on that soon! i just rinse out the cups with the lye in the sink, lye is actually used to declog drains so it should be fine honestly. for everything else, i let it sit a few days until it turns to soap and doesn't have raw lye, then i wash it out by hand. :)

    I've watched so many videos and I am confused about something. I have seen most soapmakers put their soap somewhere warm, even wrapping it like you said. How would I know when I should do that or when I should put the soap in a refrigerator?

    • @HeartsContentFarmhouse
      @HeartsContentFarmhouse  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hey it's a good question. so if you want to force gel phase, you would wrap it or put it somewhere warm (gel phase makes colors stronger and some people think it cures faster). if you have ingredients with any sugar in them, it will make the soap get hotter on its own. in that case you'll want to put it in the fridge so it doesn't OVER heat. if you leave it out at room temperature, uncovered, you run the risk of a partial gel, where it gels in the middle put not the edges. no big deal, but not prett y once its cut. so basically you want to either warm it or cool it so it does one thing or the other. unless there is sugar in recipe (including milk sugar, like in this one) because it will already heat a lot on its own.

    Safety is important and you can do it without gloves if you dont splash it all over yourself. If you want to wear gloves then do it but dont preach to her or anyone else. I add muratic acid to my pool weekly whichis caustic abd dint run for my gloves and also dont pour it high abd vreath it in. Splitting hairs people!

    • @krazyakres
      @krazyakres 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Apricot would be part of the recipe, it’s a carrier oil. Lavender would be part of the fragrance oils. You could substitute the lavender for any other essential oil for fragrance. You could probably use another liquid veg oil in place of the apricot; like jojoba, olive, etc. I’ve tried different oils in equal amounts in soap recipes
