    素晴らしい!! 3次予選の演奏に並ぶ名演。音がとにかく美しくて、テクニックも良いし表現も多彩。演奏に説得力があって満足度高い。特に明るく楽しい曲調の時の表現が光ってる。彼の素の状態に近いんだろうね。きっと彼は明るい人。あと、ペダルの使い方がすごく印象的。多彩で巧みで自由自在。個性も感じられて凄く好きな演奏。
    彼はバランスの取れたピアニストだと思った。音・テクニック・表現のどれかに偏ってない。全部揃ってる。全部良い。

    Technique, sensitivity, power, proper usage of the pedal, amazing dexterity, and showmanship!

    @CelinnaMawar 3 ปีที่แล้ว +88

    Dang...he sounds like birds, bees, wind, fire, bells. The sounds he makes are so evocative. I came for Cateen but dare I say Bruce plays more freely and improvisational. The more I watch the crazier it gets. The shaping and dynamics of LH in the Ballade. The voicing in the waltz. I have never seen that vibrating technique in Andante Spianato and heard such delicate yet rhythmic Grand Polonaise. The touch is crazy?! I think I just heard new sounds in my life.

    • @Thiago-px9ev
      @Thiago-px9ev 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      No disrespect on Cateen, but I'm quite surprised he's been lasting that long. He's a complete musician but I don't think he's a great Chopin interpreter, at least not better than Ushida. Bruce Liu is, in my opinion, miles ahead of him.

    Zawsze wyobrażałem sobie, że gdybym mógł przenieść się w czasie do pierwszej połowy XIX w, pojechał bym do Nohant i pod oknem podsłuchałbym jak naprawdę grał Chopin. Dlaczego ktoś z jego słuchaczy napisał że obawia się, że przyszłe pokolenia nie nie będą w stanie odtworzyć jego stylu bazując tylko na jego nutach. I oto nagle pojawił się ktoś, kto mam wrażenie zbliżył się niewiarygodnie blisko do sedna sprawy. Może faktycznie tak grał Chopin jak ARTYSTA na powyższym wideo. Bruce Liu's Waltz in A flat major is so fresh... I've never heard anyone play it like this. It has a tantalizing dizzi-dreaminess... and yet in other parts full of youthful banter. The dynamism consists in not only the contrast between quiet and loud, but also between excitement and lethargy... His touch is at times a bit too light for me, but on the other hand it is this uniquely light touch that gives his playing a different vibe that is very French (Chopin lived almost his entire life in France!).

    braviiiisimo!!!
    poetic sound.. clean technique.
    a gentleman, discrete, modest.
    Liu will remain striving to make his first class technique as inconspicuous as possible in serving the cause of Music.
    He is an Honor to music.
    "Under the fingers of Chopins´s hand the piano became the voice of an archangel, an orchestra, an army, a raging ocean, a creation of the universe, the end of the world."
    Solange Clesinger.
    "Chopin´s playing evoked all the sweet and sorrowful voices of the past. Chopin sang the tears of music...in a whole gamut of different forms and voices, from that of the warrior to those of children and angels..."

    the Andante Spianato is really first rate. There aren't many pianists who can play it like this. There just don't seem to be any limits to what Bruce imagines, feels and executes. I would really love to hear what he does with Prokoviev or Beethoven.

    I remember him from the preliminary round. The night session hadn't really gotten my heart, I got bored with it, but, for the last concert, I magically regained attention to the competition; he played, and made me forget all performances preliminary, apart from his. He shocked me to consciousness. I lost sight of him since. Until he won later. I'm not forgetting Bruce secondly.
