- Japan has some incredibly scenic fishing spots and safe to say, this spot might not be the most scenic, but you wouldn't have imagined that it was in the middle of a working quarry! Fishing in Japan has been so rewarding and i have to say the size of fish and the variety has been in a different world! In this video we are lure fishing for yellow spotted char, a common fish here in Hokkaido, but requires the highest water quality possible.
This fishing spot certainly blew my mind, mainly because of the fish caught but also the industrial nature of the place! Hope you enjoy this lure fishing video and safe to say i enjoyed filming it!

Thank you my friend thank you! Should other rogue content on its way! 🤣
Smashing stuff Harry, love it when I get a notification from your channel 😂
Oh mate thank you! Glad you enjoyed as well! Got a belter coming over the next couple of days 🧐🧐
Great video. Fascinating to see the different types of fishing waters in Japan.🎣👍
Thank you mate glad you enjoyed and the variety is something else! Something very different coming up next! 😲
Awesome vid Harry! You’ve been finding sick spots out there in Japan 😂 what a catch that was as well first cast! Must’ve been a hell of a fight on light rod with that current. Must be so rewarding catching Chars on spots you’ve found on google maps😂
Haha mate the hours that are being put in are beyond belief! 🤣 spend my life on Google maps and that’s how it’s always been done on the whole even in England, it makes the smallest fish rewarding and the big fish, well that’s beyond any of my wildest dreams!! 🤣 thanks for watching as always big man - top human!! 👌
very great fishing
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
Did you have to check all the bylaws related to seasons and close seasons in the rivers you've fished in Japan? Looking forward to the river season commencing here in the UK tomorrow
Fingers crossed for the new season pal! Hope you have a bloody belter! I did indeed, however Hokkaido is probably the only wild location in Japan! Rivers are on the whole free to fish and you can fish for trout all year round (albeit in winter it’s -7 so tough going) Some lakes cost to fish but the main legislation is around salmon fishing in freshwater which is a major NONO! No licenses here in Japan so it’s all go! Thank you so much for watching fella!
Nice one pal
Thank you pal hope you’re all good at your end!!
Fantastic Video as always man, your enthusiasm is so endearing.
When you are back in the UK theres a cracking Bass spot on Anglesey I think you would go nuts for. Caught 2 half metre Bass there in an hour. Its called 4 Mile Bridge but theres a really narrow channel connected to an inland sea. Give it a look on Google Maps man, really reminded me of the spot you were at in this one. Tight lines bro!
Thank you mate, anyone who knows me knows I’m enthusiastic about everything so never mind something we all love like fishing!! I’ve heard about this little spot a couple of times ironically and at some point I need to visit this place! Albeit I might not be back in the UK for a while! 🤣 love to hear you’ve been smashing some nice bass though pal what a great start to the year!!! 😁 thank you again for your kind words and for watching!! 👌
@@japanesefishingadventures my pleasure my, keep banging out cracking videos and just being you. It's great to see, also I must say I think I hate flys just as much at times haha!
Have a wonderful time away man
Another great vid 👍🏼, and beautiful trouts …I started out watching your video on Malta , bc I wanted to know a lil bit more about the fishing situation down there.
Turned out on 9 days I had 7 days of bad weather and the local also told me that March wasn’t really a good period for lures fishing in Malta .
But i ll be back down there for the pelagics in October,,I might have some luck 🍀…
Your trip to Japan is awesome ; but I ask myself , why didn’t you experience much of saltwater fishing and you focused on FW?
Fingers crossed my man! I heard the same to be honest with you, still early in the season so I’m sure by October the fish will be feeding hard before they move off to warmer waters in the south med! Best of luck! haha, well further south the fishing was abit meh 🫤 and time restraints prevented me from putting some time in to find the fish! Albeit Tokyo was pretty mental!! HOWEVER, you’ll be pleased to know there’s some saltwater content coming your way and I’ve been putting the yards in to seriously nail some saltwater species 🥹 stay tuned and thank you as always for watching!
Ps that Malta video is one of my favourite ever videos haha!!
Nice how long you on your trips for ?
Hahahaha who knows Darren! May have some updates on this in the coming weeks!!
Nice video just ordered myself a Japanese baictcaster road today you could of saved me a fortune. Stick some tricolo lures in your bag for me if you ever decide to come back to Lancashire 😂
Ooooo nice!!! Bet the postage was a nightmare wasn’t it?!? 🤣 Pahaha will dig the blighters out but might not be back in Lancashire for a while 🥲 thank you for watching David top man!!
@@japanesefishingadventures enjoy your turn over there I would of loved a chance to fish those wonderful rivers over there but I do love my Lancashire rivers too when they have water in them
@@davesgonefishing322 that makes two of us! Don’t think anything will compare to the Ribble, a special special river for me and I’m sure you’re much the same!! All the best for the new season as well - although saying that you don’t need it with some of the fish you’re catching!!
Nice 🎣 any plans to have a boat trip while your out there ?
ITS ON THE RADAR as it goes!!! Stay tuned for it!!
My local marina a tuna was caught the other day and through the lock gates .

Amazing spot again I can relate to the insects midges up here can be murder at times. Never seen as clean water beside a quarry before.
