In first case, you have a flimsy, subaverage creature on par with Firebirds and Bone Dragons at best, and in the second there is a ridiculously resilient killing machine which guarantees you victory against the toughest of opponents.
That's correct. The giants are barely stronger than Tier 6 Nagas. Titans, on the other hand, together with Archangel and Black Dragon, are the strongest Tier 7 has to offer.
I love Necropolis on very long games because of that artifact that makes ordinary heroes get skelletons after each victory and makes heroes with necromancy skill get LICHES after each battle .
Honestly guys, I think I'm going to give this to tower even with counterstrike buff, here is why: titans did not use a single counterstike until late in the fight (after the other units of tower were dead). the castle numbers were as follows -835 halberdiers -100 bowmen -337 griffins -63 zealots -268 champions -29 archangels the zealot and bowmen numbers were irrelevant, as their attacks killed only a single titan per hit. the halberdiers got an attack on the titans, but only killed 4 of them, so this is pretty much irrelevant as well even with several extra hits. the next round started, and the archangels flew over to attack them, this killed 6 of them, and the titans retaliated (this was a normal retal, since it was the start of a turn) to basically wipe them out. the archangels are now basically dead, and there are still 139 titans. the titans walked over to the champions and took them down to 170. the champions retaliated, killing 10 titans. the griffins attacked, and only killed 3 titans. There was simply no way for castle to kill the remaining 126 titans. Sure you could argue that it would have been closer, but in the end, tower would have still won for this specific fight

If you are good player Castle always win unless Tower get 3 super good buffs. I did try 10 battles and Castle won 9:1. The only time tower won was when i focus genies on buffing Titans and i get bless, shield and prayer. AI dont know how to play with fast flying units. It never outwait oponent.
just did it in autocombat mode, 3 to 2 castle. No surprise there tbh, as castle is the strongest town (besides vanilla conflux). This series is in autocombat, so that's the way you should be playing if you want to prove a point here. My point was that IN THIS PARTICULAR FIGHT, COUNTERSTRIKE WAS NOT THE DECIDING FACTOR. Castle is slightly better overall, but these two factions are close enough that wrong movements can and will decide the outcome of the fights

And btw i tried Castle vs unnerfed Coflux so 400 Phoenixes and Castle won 9:1 too. But every battle was close. Every other town lost 10:0. As for unupgraded army unnerfed Conflux is the best and next is Castle with nerfed Conflux.
also, lets not forget the idiot Angel flying next to the titan only to attack the naga queens.... but its okay, since it blocked the titan's ranged attack... 1st battle shown much better what a likely outcome would be, with a minimal tactic that is units waiting for a better time to act. so ye i doubt anything that happened in this battle came anywhere close as this as a deciding factor. That was like, there are 2 units, the first can somewhat hurt you the other can annihilate your army, you can kill one... then you kill the first one.... You could even say that genie just wasted its turn by casting counter-strike.
Crazy battle. The problem was that the archangels immediately came under attack. The essence of the strategy for the castle is to wait, then after the turn of all enemy units, attack with archangels a medium or weak unit of shooters or sorcerers. In this case, magicians. Throw the griffins and everyone else against the naga. On the next turn, the archangels attack the titans, and the rest beat the titans, from whom they removed their response and finish off the naga, since these are the strongest units at the tower. Then the archangels resurrect the crusaders and in any case, the castle wins the battle. So it is clear on the car that the battle is lost with the castle. Tower has a better mage guild than Castle, so this isn’t really a fair fight if u just compare units. Also Tower specializes a lot on hero spellcasting.

Correct. Archangels are clearly the strongest Tier 7 because of their extremely high Attack/Defense/Damage stats (And that is more important than HP). Unfortunately, and in addition, they are also the fastest (exception: Phoenix) and can revive. In my opinion this is not balanced. Archangels are clearly too strong. An equally strong squad of archangels also wipes the floor with black dragons. Well, Castle is lame anyway and a “beginner’s town”.

I don't think CS influenced the outcome that much. We can all agree that AI plays badly no matter which faction it plays against which one. What I'm trying to say is that even the Master Genies hit instead of casting buff on Titans Tower would still have won this battle because AI played Castle badly (it rushed the AA's into enemy lines and got them killed fast)
Just the longest part of the game they avoid the titan because he will hit back every time and in the end they just smack down every range unit when they try to gang up on them, with the extra retaliations saving him a few turns at 4:18.
yeah, I noticed, too that AI refrained from attacking the buffed Titans and it was so funny to see the AI "think" :) ... I'll stand by my point, though, and say that Tower would have still won without the buff
well, yeah. Leaving the titans alone is always a bad choice, and I know this first hand cause I'd play Fortress most of the time (Fortress and Rampart are my favorite towns), and I've had my ass whopped so many times because I couldn't reach the titan :) ... To be honest, though I've never gotten so mad losing to Tower cause I like that town, too. But when I lose to Castle and Necro pickers I get triggered (like badly) and I often times simply rage quit the game, not giving a shit about my opponent (yes, I'm a bad loser at Heroes 3, which is why my friend has stopped playing with me), but I have reasons for being like that: I can understand playing the cheat factions called Castle and Necro every now and then and losing to them because... well, because they're too strong.... but when you fucking play 9 times out of 10 the same shit towns (Castle / Necro) against me who likes to diversify and still call yourself better than me it's obvious that I see red in front of my eyes and stop giving a shit about the game altogether xD
Castle is not a cheat faction. What it has in powerful units it makes up for in price. In a proper game it’s almost impossible to buy all units in a week growth with castle prices
That counterattack spell ruined the fight. Obviously chances of this scenario happening again are neigh impossible. Without the spell, it really looked like Titans would die at the end, ganked up on by all of the surviving Castle units. But with counterattack, obviously they cound turn the tides. I'd like to see this battle repeated
I tested upgraded Castle vs Tower 10 battles. I played for both sides. Tower won 1x, Castle 9x. And i play this game for over 15 yrs so i know what am i doing. Tower can win only with luck. AI is stupid. It always throw AA like an idiot.
Its really impossible to tell which town is stronger dude. You lost 9x times with Tower because you are probably better at Castle. It's a straight-forward castle with easy mechanics so it's natural to play that Town well. Playing a game for 15 years means very little if you only play once in a while and don't really put up a lot of thinking and effort to improve. I've played the game with competetive players since the game was introduced and I can honestly say nobody can ever tell which Town will win. It's always up to strategy, skill, magic, decision making, mistakes you make, and a bit of luck like morale/luck etc. Every match is a question. I've played more matches then I can count when I was outnumbered 3 to 1 or even more and was in a helpless position, but using some lucky tricks or turning my enemies mistakes back on his head I was able to pull out a win none the less. HOMM3 is my favorite game of all times because the balance of the game is just perfect.

Probably the devs were religious guys or something cause otherwise there's no logical explanation for creating such a strong creature. Oh, and like that wasn't enough, they've also given Castle the best creature for their respective tier, too (maybe levels 4 and 5 are debatable because Vampire Lords and Mighty Gorgons might be better than crusaders / zealots), but even so, all other tiers are the absolute best for their level. Really cheat town. In 20+ years of playing Heroes 3 I have never EVER played Castle even once, and never will. Not even out of curiosity. THAT much I hate this cheat town LOL... Ok, when I play single player against the AI I play Castle often, but against human opponents I'll never play it. It really insults my intelligence. Castle (and Necropolis) are for wussies. I'd rather lose ALL of my games against human players than ever playing those cheat towns :)

Castle definitely has better specials the the AI typically doesn't utilize. Halibarders should be cannon fodder to allow Crusaders to use their two attacks without retaliation. The Champion's jousting bonus, Griffin's unlimited retaliation, and Archangel's resurrection are all excellent specials. Titans may be immune to mind control spells, but even they can't withstand a full relentless assault of the Castle army controlled by a human player. Unfortunately without the Titans, Tower kind of falls flat on it's face.
Still, titans are very respected units :) I like'em alot and they are in my top 10 units, maybe top 5. Naga queens also provide a lot for tower as a back-up for the titans.
Tower specializes in aquiring almost all the spells available in the mage guild. And spellcasting for ur hero. While Castle may have better units all in all Tower has better spellcasting. Counterstrike is prolly easy to get even without that genie buff.
Hoang Bui army wise Castle is the most powerfull town, 2nd is Tower, than Rampart and Coflux. I tested 10 battles Castle vs every town and they won 9:1vs Tower. Other towns they beat 10:0. 400 Phoenixes conflux won 1x too. I played for both sides.

Not true. The Tower town specializes on having a ton of spells on their mage guild. Counterstrike is easy to get even without that genie buff.

Funny battle. Literally the best spell ever to cast on the Titans. Frenzy? Nah, 0 defense would've been horrible. Fireshield? Meh, propably not.

Hoang Bui army wise Castle is the most powerfull town, 2nd is Tower, than Rampart and Coflux. I tested 10 battles Castle vs every town and they won 9:1vs Tower. Other towns they beat 10:0. 400 Phoenixes conflux won 1x too. I played for both sides.
