I usually make my temporary/starter homes cozy little cabins that act like a retreat or backup home if something goes wrong. My main bases however never even compare to Syntac's amazing lodges and mansions that he makes as his STARTER houses lol

I mean by episode 6 he's usually decked out and multiple tames but this shows my progress of struggling of my tames getting destroyed by a higher level wild dino and being indecisive of where I want to build.
@@corruptedknight7369 i build the first base on east 3... allows space and very flat for easy setup, but comes with a lot of risk... end base always ends up in that lovely hidden area in the upperNE
There is now berry bushes and fibre only bushes. If you use your sickle on the fibre bushes you get crazy amounts.
I was shocked when my friend used the sickle, just wanted to get rid of the foliage in our base and he comes back with 20k fibre in one go xd
For water syn, you do use reservoir daisy chains. But pro tip, the reservoir doesn't have to be inside the blue "range" bubble of the intake to extend the distance. When placing the reservoir there will be a blue arrow over top it pointing in the direction of your intake. Once you move it out of the intakes range the blue arrow disappears. so as long as you see the blue arrow, it's connecting. The blue "range" bubble is for anything useable you connect to the water system(taps, etc) from what I've gathered. Hope that helps!

The sickle was getting a ton of fiber before because of the grass that was getting harvested. The half railing can be done by using the quarter wall and changing it's variants to a fence

I recommend reading the description of all engrams, some have been buffed, the miners helmet for example gives a ton of armor
Edit: i didnt realise that miners helmet always gave armor but my point still stands
Good tip! I always wanted to use that helmet in ASE but it would break so fast even if it was mastercraft or higher. I can't wait to play on xbox and see what else has changed
How much does it give? ASE has 120.
They had a ton of armor in ASE too, you could get some ridiculous ones from drops/gachas. The problem is the durability.
i had a mastercraft miner helmet that had more armor than an ascended riot helmet in ASE

Syntac, can i recommend that you build balcony on the second floors where the roof or portruding at the back? That will give a more beutiful scenery i guess because you are higher, instead of a balcony on the first floor (at the back) and also on the middle back wall you fan just put a wall of glass or something that opens a lot bigger than a normal window so when the sun rises up and the light hits through those it will be magical, and also ont either side of the house, you can put like a pen but no walls, just roofs and pillars where you can put ur trikes and other tames
Yes you can daisy-chain water tanks/reservoirs. They act like repeaters for the intake, and for each other. You can also turn water taps off to silence the loud gurgling, and you can still drink from them when they are switched off. The QOL improvements never end lol
An area that barely got a look at in the past and now I can't get over how beautiful it is. The little cove, the depth, the detail. Stunning.

@@zoombs7126 I think performance might be rocky at the start but I think we're just going to get lower graphics and less frames to boost performance. I think it'll still look better than ASE though
@@zoombs7126 dont worry i have an old pc and if u put it on low settings it runs fine, just make sure u save often incase u crash. I have only once, but my brother has crashed more than me even with a better pc. Cant wait for it to come to console so more people get to play 😊😊
Another tip. To get water to your basem place the intake then go to the edge of the range and place a water tank thing, it will fill up with the water from the intake and it has a range as well that also fills all of your things that need water. just use as many water tanks as u need in a chain on the edge of each radius
30:00 since you said you weren't sure what you wanted to do for those back rounded bits, you should bring out the floor by one and make them a little upstairs patio. It'll brighten up the interior a bit while allowing you to see your beautiful view! It'll also give a bit more definition to the back of the house.

The fiber with the sickle I have noticed in 2 places is crazy: One was underwater slicing seaweed and the 2nd is these little yellow flowers that are dense in the plains areas

It is SO refreshing to watch a series that's not using Mods. Mods are cool and all, but there's something fun and pure about watching vanilla. No soul guns, S+, infinite storage and pulling from all boxes, etc, etc.

What about making a platform on that rock pillar for your flyers with a bridge connecting to that back porch?
@Syntac you should use the stone pillar outside your base by placing stairs in a spiral way down it to the water
@syntac you need to make a landing pad for fliers on the tops. like the peaks on left and right could be turned into an outside area so you can park your fliers up there or have a balcony up there . just a suggestion
Why is 360p the only quality syntac😢(edit bruh it’s actually the only option 💀 I’ve tried refreshing 20x) (23 minutes later 144p appears, but it’s just those two)(edit it’s fixed)
For clarity, I go and specifically click the advanced quality option, to be able to see what are able to be selected. 360 is the only option there. Both in app and on TH-cams website.
When it comes to adding touches to houses I always love doing decks, can connect different parts, add good looking detail, and fill out wierd snaps!

If you want wider windows take the open door frame you used at the top of your stairs and put two half walls in it.

First drop I got in singleplayer was a white drop with a ring. It had an ascendant Pachy saddle. Drop quality MASSIVELY improved.
really enjoy new greenhouse wall texture as a use in building a greenhouse but it now looks bad as a large window for a house. would love to see a large window structure.
I feel the same. Without mods the only thing I've seen that looks okay is to use the green house single doors as a window
Or just window glass to replace the normal window covers.
@@joshuamashburn487 was thinking more of a window the size of an actual wall, like how the greenhouse wall was able to function as. on big builds the small, regular windows can look kind of goofy

Regarding water access when you are far from water, you had the right thought the water access can be extend from intake with water reservoirs. Specifically you have to place one in the range of the intake and if want to extend further you can by placing another reservoir in the range of the previous one.
Edit: Your big storages are acually misaligned because the second one isn't snapped to the first.

Whilst placing building items, when in vanity Camera view... The item to be placed will change direction relating to where true center of the camera view is.
So essentially, you *_CAN_* just line up your cams view the way you need it. 🤙
why is the resolution do low?
They should add a "window mesh" craftable which will place a fiber-rope mesh in your windows, to keep throwables and small animals out!
(saves you from grenades, shoulder pets getting thrown in, people hitting you with a spear through open window)
People would still be able to shoot through it of course, logically!

Folks, TH-cam sometimes takes a little while to enable the higher resolution settings of new videos. Give it a while and it’ll probably be working.

I have the same problem
I got this game 2 days after it came out and everything about ASA is amazing. I don’t have friends that play ASA so its just me and my lonesome self. Recently every 20-30 minutes I get crashes that it makes it unenjoyable. I do need to update a few things but a lot of that will cost over $1k so just working with what I have now. I hope they can fix that soon as I’ve tried everything I can think of to maybe fix it. Keep up the great work, Syntac! I plan on getting the Mystique plush here soon. 😊

One of my favorite things about the new building system, if you pick something up, everything snapped to it, and everything snapped to that stuff (and so on) gets picked up too.
So if you build a huge tower... And then decided you wanted to move it, you could pick the whole thing up by getting all of the foundations.
I assume there is probably a limit to this, but i have not found it yet.

I know the pace is brutal but I really appreciate you putting episodes out this quickly. I can't get ASA yet but I'm chomping at the bit to get into it and your videos are so helpful for scratching the ARK itch until then. Thanks so much, Syn!
My dude, this is really cool. One of the first things that really caught my eye with Ark was the building. I'm glad to see it taken to the next level in ascended. Love your videos.
The other thing that really drew me to Ark, by the way, was hunting with the team of raptors.
Yup, getting the Raptor squad and Trike caravan up are early game goals for me most of the time😅

At the entrance try to put an artifact pedestal hanging upside down since you can flip anything and maybe something for texture or make it look like a Chandelier.
For example the light that hangs on the front of the USA white house.
And for the sides add a balcony or atrium using triangle foundations for a semi circle or half octagon to break up the boxy look. You can use then to store trophy stands or make a recessed for place so you can add a table for everyone to sit at for talking episodes with a war map on the table or armory bays etc.
Also using grapple hooks and temporary ceilings helps with scaffolding.
I love how much you guys mess with each other yet it's innocent at the same time. A hat here, a paint brush there. It's hilarious! Keep up the great work syn ❤
Have you seen the new variation in character size you can have now? You're character has to duck through tall doorways, but I've seen others who's character is hardly bigger than their pickaxe!

Totally feeling ya on the Theri issues. Damn near had one wipe my base on day 4.
the thing is with the water system is that you need a water intake, a water tank (maybe more than one based on how far you are away), and a few taps. place the water intake in water, it will show a range in wich you can place the tap, if you placed the tap, you'll need to use the water tank (there is an arrow wich shows if it is still connected to the tap. it'll go away if you're out of distance) then you have another range for another tap (basicly do this: water intake --> water tap (at the edge of the area) --> Water tank (at the edge of the water tap area) --> water tap ( if you need to continue) --> water tank etc..
so basicly after you placed the water intake you just gotta repeat the process of the tap and water tank until you are at your base. it's pretty nice, and works even Diagonal
I think it could be amazing to place either an upside down artifact or some kind of hanging light in litlle spot at the front (29:00)
You can bring an anky with an argy and drop them through the cellar door on the roof to get metal in and out for smelting

I absolutely love the home front. FYI...I am one of those that love the new greenhouse glass :)
I think the biggest kicker with the new build system is going to be whether or not new variations can be injected without altering the base object so that mod author's can add as many variations as they want without overwriting each other. That was always the biggest issue with modding in ASE was if two mods touched the same thing AT ALL then you could only use one of them even if they did entirely different things and didn't actually touch the parts that the other did.
If you could reach it, you could use a bunch of triangle sloped roofs to make the middle roof pointy like the others.
As someone who has to give a lot of presentations for work. I was so distracted in this video by the amount of "But yeahs" and "I dont knows" XD
The greenhouse door and windows give me the actual vibe of a greenhouse not just glasses, however, it would have been awesome if they added a pure-class door to look nice.
You should put a lil platform on one of the sides on the second floor for when you get Flyers
If you want to move the windows just a smidge around your fireplace, and you don't plan to actually put windows in the window frame, you could potentially replace the window frame with 3 quarter walls, then snap a regular wall in the center behind the fireplace. Then you would have a window size hole, a little bit farther from the center, although a little higher up too.
Syntac: Depending on your location, there are small grass nodes that yield high fiber with the scythe. If you shmack a bush that is ontop of those grass nodes, you may multi hit like 5 of the grasses along with the bush. This could have been your experience.

Another lean-to on either side for covered dino storage or maybe an attached greenhouse might look nice.

For the center part of the roof where it's flat you could put greenhouse ceilings or something to create like a skylight in the center which might look really cool
I feel like a cool addition would be to turn that natural pillar off the edge of the cliff into a landing platform for flying creatures
I'm with you on the greenhouse visuals, I do wish they re-introduce the old greenhouse textures as an alt version at least, I loved using them in ASE for all my bases.

Beautiful house! And the way the light comes in the windows inside is just absolutely stunning.
In order to get water to spots away from water sources you have to build water tanks/reservoirs in a chain that leads to where you want it to fill
It would be nice to see some quarter rooves, and in general if they're just more open to adding stuff like that, I think people would enjoy that!
