    The way he says "am sorry" in the end of the video is absolutely genius because symbolically he took the media as dumbs during the whole interview as he repeated the same things over and over again which enabled him to never really give any substance to his replies!

    • @AceITH007
      @AceITH007 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Could be. But I think he said sorry in the end referring to the last question about experienced players. Because he doesn't believe there are experienced players at United in terms of an experienced total person. Even Rooney.

    he is realistic honest and knows the challenges ahead are great and is not promising anything until he can get to know the team and what he needs to do and as a United supporter I am excited about our team and urge people to give him time he is a great manager and has proven that so I am delighted to have him with us.

      ConcordDown He is a top class manager, but the team needs serious overhaul, carrick, cleverly, nani, young, welbeck, all not good enough. Welbeck has potential but the way he's been playing he literally couldn't score in a brothel. Nani again great potential but again is just shite, cleverly I wouldn't let him guard me wheelie bin never mind the middle of the pitch, Young, well if I was manager last season I'd have taken him out the back and beat his head in with a pipe, such a useless cunt he is. Carrick well i just fear he's now past it in the same way Rio and Vidic was.

    The most interesting parts of this interview are the ones that I haven't read about in the stories following the press conference - for example, his argument about youth vs experience and story about Seedorf. That's critical to understanding how LVG operates.

    Why didn't we hire this man after Sir Alex retired? He understands the club, is committed to great football and has that aura about him that almost no managers have. He will take us back to the very top where we belong!

    • @ppeterh
      @ppeterh 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      In fact, when Ferguson announced that he would retire in 2002, LvG was apparently approached as successor. When Ferguson then decided not to retire, the deal fell through.
      When Ferguson eventually did retire, Van Gaal wasn't available as he had committed to coaching the Dutch national team into and including the 2014 world championship.

  • @AbhimanyuJadhav
    @AbhimanyuJadhav 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Putting all his achievements aside, this man still comes across as a confident person with realistic motives. When he accepted that "we finished 7th, so we haven't been the biggest club in playing this sport", he overhauled the false feelings some of us glory hunters have held onto for a long long time. Moyes was not a bad manager, he just wasnt fit for a job like Manchester United. The Iron Tulip has proved himself on the grandest stage of them all, and I sincerely believe he can restore the reputation that United has. I said restore, not avenge. Clubs like City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal have also been through a transition...Chelsea and Liverpool with more than any, but they have found the trust of their loyalists and thats why they are challenging for the title again. A break from European football is bad for business, but its great for transitional purposes. We get one whole year under LVG to get our basics right and that I believe is promising. Manchester United will hunt again.
    GGMU!

    His very last comments, in the last two minutes, about age, experience that we lack, and quote "Im Sorry", makes me confident we are looking at another 2-3/4 big signings in addition to the two we have grained already.
    Ill be browsing transfer rumours constantly for the next month :)

    As most United fans saw in the World Cup and this press conference this is a spitting image of Sir Alex. A manager that has won where ever he went, is a strong personality and isn't afraid to get rid of players that challenge him. Isn't afraid to make sub anyone out. As a United fan, you are so excited just for the season to start.

    love the closing comments. similar to Sir Alex in his philosophy that if you want to become a twitter superstar rather than football champion,then you don't belong in my team, no matter how experienced or 'important' you are. an old school football manger who knows how to do the job and take zero bs is what Man Utd need atm. well done to the owners and management team for bringing in such a strong and opinionated manager. let's hope he can lead us to greatness

    Cannot wait for the new season. The difference between the way LVG and David Moyes come across in the press conference is like night and day. Think About It, It's Like In School When You Had This Powerful Mighty Teacher The Whole Time & He Left & In Comes A Man Who Has A Weaker Personality And The Students Realize "We Can Walk All Over Him" & Take Advantage Of That Weak Personality Moyes Had! Personally I'm Delighted That We Have This Type Of Man For Our Manager Because Some Of Those Players That Was Slacking Last Season Need A Fire Lit Under Their Arses! Something That Moyes Didn't Have The Ability To Do!

    His comment at the very end about few footballers being experienced with life in general could not be more true. 300,000 grand a week and a celebrity lifestyle means most grow up at 50. Beckham for example is just about beginning to realise what else their is to life after watching his documentary going deep into Brazil.

    I have no clue about soccer in England but Van Gaal is a very good coach. He has recently proven that again with a 3rd place for the Dutch national team during the world cup 2014 in Brazil.
    Just be aware that he does have a very short fuse. Especially when he feels that reporters questions are either stupid or irritating him after a lost game you can wait for some really funny soundbits from Van Gaal. :)
    He tends to have extremely aggressive and very naggy behaviour towards the press at times. It is just a matter of time.....until you can laugh your ass off about his naggy quotes in the press.
    Him being very straight forward has nothing to do with not knowing enough English but that is very much normal behavior for him. He does that when he speaks his native language Dutch, or in German and Spanish as well. Subtilty is not something that Van Gaal has or is able to pretend to have. So do not expect that from him.
    As far as the Adidas deal is concerned. That has nothing to do with their place in the premier league. Adidas would not spend that amount of money if they did not intend to earn it back somehow. They simply bought some extra turnover in the UK market. Any team that they can convince to change their gear from Nike to Adidas will help them sell more of their stuff. Meaning shirts, shoes and balls.

      They call it soccer to make the distinction between European and American football. Those are 2 very different games.

    No player is bigger than the Manager, the Team or the Club. Now we have the right manager to uphold the great work Sir Alex Ferguson had achieved with the club, that will enforce discipline and demand results on/off the pitch.

    the last comment about the TOTAL footballer gave me goosebumps; mentioning not so many experienced players. so what counts? playing football is like the first page of his playbook, chapters after are sleep, drink, eat, family, fashion, manners, etc? democratic with a big stick maybe

    I think VG would've worked out at United if the board let him do what he wanted to do and sign the players he wanted not what the club wanted I don't think he wanted Di Maria and Falcao the United board just wanted to control He's a Champions league winner it had to work out, but unfortunately it is what it is in football

      Di Maria is definitely a LVG player. Player who can operate in different positions. He got rojo and blind when his first choices were hummels and Vidal.
      I agree he never got the players he wanted and also time

    If there's one thing I hope doesn't go awry, it;s the language barrier. Honestly, I don't know how good Van Gall speaks English, considering only 1 or 2 of the team are Dutch, and there are a fair amount that are Spanish. It could be a big deal in the relationship between manager and player.
