Great video Mr. McKnight. I was looking on line to double check myself on rings and I was very pleased to see you doing you tube videos. And to any of you out there questioning this guy I can tell you something! This man has forgot more then most men would ever know about engines, that I can assure you. Mr. McKnight was one of my teachers at DANA'S Research & Development Plant in Ottawa Lake Michigan. I was there in 1997 at the age of 20. And with the knowledge I came away with, by the age of 23 I became the Machine Shop Manager at Barceloux Bros Automotive Machine Shop also NAPA AUTO PARTS, in Orland CA. A company that has been in business since 1936. So THANK YOU BILL McKnight. Chuck Cutshall III
Thanks mate! Being a computer nerd with two trashpicked weedwackers I _expertly reinstalled the piston ring on the one engine upside down_ which broke it. Didn't think to measure the cylinder diameter though, hopefully the outside diameter of the ring remnants will suffice.
Hi, great video What is the relationship between the 1 liter car and 3 liter? Does it depend of the piston/cylinder size or the amount of air/fuel mix that goes inside the each cylinder/ Thanks.
Absolutely shocked Mahle would let someone use digital calipers to measure something critical like clearances between rings and cylinder bores. What ever happened to dial bore gauges and precision micrometers.
