I would add - don't put a tank near a natural light source ie, a window. It looks great but never ends well.

I am an impulsive cory catfish buyer. I didn't plan on buying anything. I seen 3 different tanks at the end. All 3 had one of some kind of cory catfish in it. With me knowing the stress and sickness they can have when they are alone, I bought all 3 and took them home. They are happy and active now. The catfish I bought are a light caramel brown on top, white on the bottom, and they have a light black stripe down each side. The pet store didn't know what kind they are and I didn't have any luck on Google either. If anyone knows what they might be please let me know.

Had this happened to anyone else, that some things you do with your aquarium that is wrong but you don't know it when you do it and some thing bad happens, but you will see a video few days after about it that you should never do it. That is happening again to me. The first tip "you should never forget that you are doing a water change". I forgot that I was doing a water change and all my aquarium wire was plugged underneath my tank and my circuit breaker triped thankfully nothing tooooo bad happened and I learned my lesson. The filling the tank with water and letting it sit for a week 2 weeks while you observe the seams and the seals holds good for a new tank as well. In India 90% tanks are non branded which means someone makes them by hand. The workmanship is decent but still you may be unlucky to get an oddball.

Also if you buy a used one don't worry about it just look on TH-cam how to reseal a tank. The thing you need to worry about is what you will have in the tank and has the previous owner used any medication that are harmful to what you want to put in the tank

Never leave an unopen jar of fish food on an open tank. It will always (I really mean that) find a way to fall in.
Never say this will only take a few minutes when you start working on a scape. It only takes longer that way.
Never buy a fish and then buy a tank for the fish. Have the tank ready at home in advance.

Ahmet Yusufoğlu depends on the snail. Some snails need a partner and you will never have more than that one. Ahmet Yusufoğlu well good news it doesn’t breed a sexually but just need two to breed. The don’t have ornate shells or bodies so I can’t imagine you can easily sell or regime these guys, but they get on the big side so I don’t think of it as a pest snail. So question if you just need one snail take a paper towel and wipe the babies away and you’ll have the one unique snail not usually in the pet trade or keep them I don’t thing these will become pest snails

Topping off your water wouldn't condense things. It would dilute things.

ALWAYS water test tanks. And when buying a used tank, don't go through with it unless you're willing to reseal it (if it's a glass tank).

I'll argue the used tank part with you...you can reseal tanks..i argue just cause you didn't state this was geared towards new fish keepers and your saying NEVER do.

1: Measure out the water in some kind of container when doing water changes. Make sure that if you forget to keep an eye on it any water overflowing happens in your shower, bathtub or similar situation that is built for flowing water. By the time you get to the aquarium you shouldnt have more water than can fit in your tank.
Its a little extra step and not quite as easy as turning on the hose but you can rest easy that a brainfart is not gonna flood your livingroom one day.
This is a long game hobby and youre going to be doing it in all sorts of distractions for years to come and it just takes one distraction at the wrong time to mess up your home.
