You forgot the nutmeg!
I always add a little nutmeg to my butternut squash.
I roast off the squash and baste it with butter and maple syrup. When it's almost done, I chunk it and add it to some chopped apples and some raisins in a casserole dish. I season it with cinnamon, nutmeg and a bit of powdered ginger.
It's a sweet side dish that even fussy kids will eat.
That bisque looks amazing!
I'd plant those seeds in the spring, even in a bucket!
Edit: I was typing while Deddy was preparing the seeds for roasting. Those are delicious too, but you need good teeth for them!

I've been away for a bit, but it's now soup season and I remembered how much I enjoyed a vegetarian (reverse engineered) version of Deddy's jerk ramen. It's 11:30 pm. I want jerk ramen. I have been making Butternut Squash soup for the last couple of weeks. It is filling, not inflammatory, and easy. I use coconut milk.

Better Than Bouillion is salty unless you get the low sodium version, so that’s why dad was being careful not to add too much salt. I love dad’s calm demeanor and words of wisdom. Thanks for sharing as always.

I usually roast my squash whole and uncut. It keeps all of it's water. Scooping out is simple. I often roast 3-4 at once, then place is bags the flesh to freeze. 😊
