Hey Björn: I am not sure these videos are good for consumers. Car manufacturers might feel a pressure to increase charging speed at the expense on battery health. In the end consumers might get cars that has a significantly reduced range due to this "race"... You know that car manufacturers watch your videos and take note.
@@bjornnyland This is true-you are right. I just wonder what future will show about degradation, charging speed, cooling, cell architecture and battery chemistry. I have a feeling we will see some pretty bad issues with some battery packs. High charging speed will certainly be a major factor in this.
there was a study of Tesla batteries released a few weeks ago. Fast charging was not the main issue for degradation. Temperature was the main factor. Living on a cold place keeps your battery more healthy.
Buzz with the 82kWh is charging at 1.7C. Miga with the 100kWh charges at 1.2C. You can now choose what is worst for the battery. Temperature is the leading factor for degradation. I'm very curious for the Shenxing pack from CATL. And how they archive their claims of "400km/10min" charging.
would be interesting to see some curves for Range added per minute :D

This video is great for consumers. They can just pick the car with the slowest charging.
