Depending on the accordingly situation but the best an preferable way step by step from (FP to MDB to SMDB to FDB to 3-Phase Meter) and then further..

Simple meter agr (Single phase ) ha tu transformer sa left side sa main input kara ga (Phase, Neutral) and right side sa output la lay ga thats it

1 way output of the MDB goes to SMDB then why we are selecting 8 way MDB? Bcz one cable will go to SMDB
Its not so big deal. As i said its depends on the needs as per requirements. You can vary it accordingly to your project setup.
