I have a friend who has an older sister with cancer and she passed away 3 years ago... 2 years after her death, I started playing Genshin and convinced my friend to play. Later she learned that Dori also had an older sister who died from sicknesw and fell in love with this character and connected with her deeply. Now, her dori is op and c6. She is now living a better life with a younger sister :)

I like everything about Dori: personality, design, kit and animations. I use her in my Alhaitham team as a battery and healer, she heals 10.000 hp per tick.

When I saw that Genshin Twitter really hated her design from the moment she appeared officially, I decided in that moment I would give her love. Today, my Dori is a C6, triple crowned, Hyperbloom battery (one of her constellations makes her have amusing timing in triggering a Hyperbloom reaction with Kokomi and Nahida) with a fairly decent crit ratio of 66/137. I can definitely do better tho, your ratio is fantastic.
I am curious about the results, would you make a video later?
If most of the Sumeru cast was darker, there'd be fewer complaint 🥲+ her personality is somewhat of a Turkish stereotype(being money hungry and scammers)

And well, already debunked. She is dressed like an Ottoman Empire Sultan, which suits her character who lives in her self proclaimed palace. Thats literally how those rulers dressed. That’s not even the first time characters were greedy or scammers, as half of Inazuma tries to scam the player upon first arrival, as well as a Liyue NPC who scammed people pretending to be an adeptus. It’s not like Dori is the only scammer, if she was people might’ve had a point, she isn’t, so nah. The hatred of her is unwarranted, especially considering genocidal maniacs in that game are loved and adored, even if she is a stereotype. And the hypocrites who hate her so for being a stereotype would love her if her skin color was darker, which is just not right in my opinion.
The fact that Dori is so underrated makes me love her character so much more. Her backstory and lore is genuinely interesting and has a ton of potential to be fleshed out, especially with how her sister died and it made her apathetic and greedy, but she deep down gathers mora because it’s something that won’t leave her.
Hoyo just needs to give her a good hangout quest since she’s just been given the “Mora Gremlin” role rather than a personal 1 on 1 yet

I actually use dori in abyss, this cycle I did nahida / kuki / yaoyao / dori so I could do on field nahida with all the heals, dori as a healing support is actually pretty good
Replace Kuki for Sayu and you have chibi team with viridescent support!
@@DefinitelyNotAFerret my problem with that is that without the 2nt electro even with sayu on fav and dori on sac I dont have enough ER for her ult to be up enough for electro infusion with sayu and without that the electro app is not enough, also it forces sayu to be on field more ruining the point of it being on field nahida lol, also I dont think the VV helps my dendro dmg... maybe with a c6 nahida the electro app wont be a problem and I could just Q bot sayu but I am pretty sure VV doesn't increase my spread dmg :( I could do a nobless on her instead maybe

As a Dori Main, I love to see that she gets at least a bit of apretiation from players, i love dori since i saw her trailer, and i loved her, she is like a spark that was linked to me when i saw her... Thanks for giving her a chance :3
I use dori as the the ultimate battery. Her ultimate is lvl 12 (max energy regeneration), 4p exile and r5 favonious.
I use Dori on Inazuma puzzles because she can apply electro on you for a long time so these puzzles where you need to light up some stones

idk why people hate Dori, her kit isn't super good admittedly but I honestly love her design and her greedy personality gives me a good laugh. Her EngVA does such a good job too I think she might be one of the best Voices in the game. She's just a money gremlin thats all.

I heard some people say that she was kind of a bad person and thats why shes not liked much. I could be wrong tho and everyone has totally valid reasons, but i still dont understand how people would hate on dori cus shes "bad" when characters whove done a lot worse than her are a lot more loved.

@@seliamila1005 forgot to respond, my bad, but generally speaking in other european countries, turkish people are seen as very money hungry generally. I don't have a personal problem with having dori be very money hungry, i just have a problem with its execution. You only find out this information through her story/voicelines, which many people don't pay attention to or experience due to not having the character or using the character. I do like her design bc its gender nonconforming interpretation of regional dress which gives her a design that does somewhat speak to the cultural attitude of gender in sumeru. Also i am aware that it's heavily inspired, and i never expected suneru to be 100% accurate to sumer, its irl counterpart; however, unlike liyue, inazuma, mond, etc, sumeru combines far too many cultures, time periods, mythology, etc that the sumeru patch was far too bloated and for subpar presentation of said cultures, time periods, mythology, etc. I don't have a problem with combining and having cultures bounce off one another, i just have a problem with, again, the execution of said ideas. When it comes to the combining of these things, you tend to stumble over the details and have a blindness to possibly "problematic" aspects. Its just extremely clunky overall but i do genuinely love suneru due to my interest in sumer and Mesopotamia overall

I never understood why people hate on Dori so much 😅 What made me fell in love with her in the beginning was her design and bubbly attitude. Yes, she is a bit too materialistic, but she is very fun, and I hope I will get the chance to obtain more constellations for her. Ultimately, people should play with the characters they love. Some love the damage output, others love the utility aspect, some love the design or personality of a character. Whatever it is the case for you, just have fun and be happy 🥰
from what i understand it’s mostly because her design is a mishmash of several cultures and not in a good way. many middle eastern people have expressed their disdain for the way she’s portrayed in game. i can’t speak on any of this as i’m not middle eastern but i’ve seen several threads on twitter detailing everything problematic with her. not to say you can’t like her, but it’s important to acknowledge those that are represented by her in a negative sense.

I wanted to build her with thundering fury, nahida, beidou and Kazuha to hyper carry her. Havent had a chance but to do so yet tho. I always found Dori cool design wise even if she is hated. Great video btw!

Is just not worth it, when you've been as long as some people like me or other players is just not worth the effort time and resources, I'd rather get a new 5 star and invest on that character than a character like Dori wich I probably will never use.

While I'm not the biggest fan of her personality, I really like Dori's color scheme. I think her design is quite beatiful and fun. I understand people from SEA being disappointed in the cliché bellydancer look but let's be real: most of the Genshin characters aren't great examples (design-wise) for the cultures they represent. And hating on any of the VAs is the most stupidest thing the fandom can do (with very few examples. Like OG CN Oz or OG ENG Tighnari). VAs are just doing their job voicing a character. They have no influece how good a character's kit is or how their design looks. I really wish more people of the Genshin fandom would understand these simple things.

People can hate on her all they want. Her lore didn't stop me from using her. She's my main healer on my alternative account (mainly used for farming for my main account and pulling on standard exclusively) and she's doing GREAT. Even better than everyone else. Especially in co-op.

Dori's burst's ability to create in a Hyperbloom team is actually quite good and her best source of damage. You're better off ignoring she even has normal or charge attacks.

I just wish The Bell's passive worked differently. It could have turned Dori into a dual healer/shielder. Similar to how the Prototype Amber turns C4 Yanfei into a dual shielder/healer.
I already have Diona, the aforementioned Yanfei build, Noelle, and Baizhu anyway. Still, would have been nice to give Dori a dual role.

I gave my Dori HP Clam Set. She heals for 14,000 damage a second and pops her bubble for between 25-45k because she's electro and Clam is affected by Superconduct.
If ur gonna use dori as support trust that you have to have dendro as main dps. I used to do nahida, dori, yelan/zhongli, yae with nahida as on field and the electro application is so strong. Her burst goes so well with nahida skill + NA

Actually during that event her behavior was understandable as Kaveh was being an idiot and rejecting the money that would solve his problems. It’s kinda funny as this is the same fandom that adores Scaramouche, a character that has committed countless bloody atrocities, heck even Dottore has fans as an evil scientist who takes great pleasure in torturing and experimenting on people, but I guess a scammer is too far for some reason 😅

Two girls of similar ages hummed a melody that was slightly out of tune. They spent their innocent childhood hand-in-hand as constant companions.
They each picked flowers to decorate the other's hair in spring and walked across creeks barefoot in summer.
They slid down the golden sand dunes in autumn and shared a book in the warmth of the winter sunlight.
It seemed that such happy times would never come to an end.
That is, until the elder sister started coughing blood for no reason. At this time, their home came to be ringed by a great many strange adults.
The strangers explained the elder sister's situation in serious tones and with unfathomable jargon before sighing at the dingy little room.
The younger sister had no idea what was happening, but she visited her sister every day, and her sister would always say this to her with a bright smile:
"It's alright. I just need some rest."
Seeing that smile, the innocent younger sister's eyes filled with expectation. She even began looking forward to playing together like they used to.
But one day, she saw her sister gripping her chest while telling a story.
Then, when her frail form collapsed onto the bed, the younger sister reached out to catch her, only to find that her body was so very light.
...It was almost as if her sister were a feather, a feather that might drift away to some place far, far away.
Later on, the younger sister found a crumpled note.
It was a doctor's prescription, with a list of herbs that were desperately scarce - the collectors who had such herbs were few and far between.
To purchase those herbs would cost more than tens of millions of Mora, an impossible price for a family that was already struggling to make the ends meet.
The elder sister always shook her head with a smile to dismiss her family's insistence on following the prescription. Perhaps she herself could only find the courage to glance at that note in the deep hours of the night - and dare to dream that she might "live."
Upon finding out about the note, the younger sister put it into her pocket silently and resolved to save her sister.
"I must make a lot of Mora."
"With enough Mora, my family will never have to smile at me while swallowing their pain, and I will never have to lose anything due to lacking Mora..."
Perhaps it was at that moment that the gods looked upon her with mercy.
But to an "ambitious" person like her, getting a Vision was just the start.
In the countless days and nights that have followed, she has constantly kept herself calm and clear-headed, telling herself:
"Conviction alone is not enough. I will work hard for what I desire until the end of my days."
"There's nothing that Lord Sangemah Bay cannot achieve.". We learn at max friendship her twin is now buried. And that Dori couldn't acquire Mora fast enough to save her. From that point she vowed in self-loathing never to have anything precious taken from her ever again because she lacked Mora.
Side note she mistreats Kaveh, for two reasons 1 he reminds me of old self. 2 she didn't do it out of spite but out of morality she wanted him to learn to stop relying on others to solve his problems and stop blaming others for them. Kaveh does this CONSTANTLY, hell there's a litteral Song made JUST Because he Jealous of Alhaitham and refuses to admit it. He's a damn fool who wastes ALL of his funds building archtecture throughout Sumeru without thinking of the cost or consequences of his actions which Everyone else seems to have noticed BUT HIM. Dori wasn't entirely blameless that situation could've been handled better sure but Kaveh is too fluffing stupid to realize his issues unless someone throws him to the wolves and points out what he doesn't want to hear, which is what Dori more or less did. She played the role of the villain so he'd learn and take matters to self-improvement, like she was forced too. Her parents watched as her twin died, she was the only one who tried to save her. Kaveh didn't do a single damn thing when his own father died pushes all of his problems and failures off to the side or blames Alhaitham for half his issues. He WASTES Mora instead of properly saving it for when it's actually needed for an actual emergency. Dori is both an informant and a merchant she already was aware of Kaveh's idiotic spending habits so of course she'd tell him to take a hike. I had a friend like that at one point he'd always waste his money, than b-ch and complain and it got to the point he'd ask me for small amounts, I was okay with once or twice or him offering something worth the value of the requested amount but than it got uncomfortable once the amount hit a certain thresh hold. At some point I terminated our friendship, because he became a leech at some point that's more or less what Kaveh is. I don't blame Dori or cutting him off honestly. Do I agree with her methods nope but it should solve some apparent issues.

While you are mentioning Kaveh's ignorance you yourself ignore his meeting in which you start to understand that Kaveh actually likes his life and his friends - he's ego is just too high to admit it and because of his fire temperament. Also he has high morales that is why he can not agree to easy method for himself even if it will lead to eternal mora suffering. People like this exist. And as for refference to "leeching" - if you disagree to give nobody can take anything from you.

I think people hates Dori because of her design. It's the same way why people hates Toddlers and Tiara. Dori is physically a toddler. Her looks and her outfit is not "right".
The TRUE META Dori build is the one where she gives you the passive material refund chance at crafting and doesn't need to be in your party. Low investment, F2P friendly... Doesn't even need gear.

Try her when c6. She infuses herself for 3s (also normal attacks heals), it may seems little time but when pair it with thunder fury and her first passive talent she can have almost full infusion. So you can play her like a electro driver onfield, or dps, like I do. Its really fun to play and it gave me some use for her.

Does anyone believe that I got Kokomi during 3.0 while rolling for Dori, then ending up using Kokomi and putting Dori on the bench?

I usually pull for people based on their design and animations. So when I saw dori i had to pull her. She’s officially on the list of 4 stars that have the looks of a 5 star

Dori's personality is so cool and fun I love her. I can't imagine how can someone hate her 😢
I collect the chibi characters so I was practically forced to build her, she heals 11k per "tick" or whatever, it's insane
I like the greedy little gremlin child, lvl 90 her day 1 and she’s the one charecter for who I change the voice to JP from EN, too bad I don’t use many teams that need electro healer, atleast I was still able to use her to carry co-op cause people kept dying for no reason
Honestly I think any character can be great when you invest the time into them when it comes to their strength
Some characters might be easier to build than others, or have a kit advantage by default, but if you really like a character and want them on your team then frankly it doesn't matter if they aren't the meta
Screw the meta, seriously, just play the characters you like and if anyone has anything negative to say about that then prove them wrong by showing them just how strong your character can be when you give them the time and dedication
It's far more fun to play Genshin that way, in my opinion, rather than forcing yourself to constantly adapt to the power creep and build characters you don't care about for the sake of 36 starring the spiral abyss

Dori was my first 4 star character, and i never understood why people didn't like her. Right now she is lvl 90 with a lvl 90 claymore (i forgot the name of it). Her talents are 6,10,10. I have her with some decent artifacts but im currently planning on rebuilding her so she can do better dmg as a battery for a hyperblooom team with my koko and nahida
Dori was the very first character I pulled, I don’t use her anymore but she was pretty good!

Doesn't Yun jin only buff normal attacks? Also those abyss enemies have physical resistance. The best team for Dori is Quicken with clam set, or if you have C6 then hyperbloom with gilded
Dori is a good character to fights against the stronger npcs, i use her to electrify the others and use an hydro hability, like Barbara, or Pyro hability, like Amber

The irony is I am going to try to pull for her from Venti's banner coming up since I don't have her yet and do have 1 furnishing set finished that she might like. Characters will reward the player with free primogems if they complete a furnishing set they like and have them in their active teapot layout. Found that out when I got Tighnari (best archer in my opinion) from standard banner a while back. (Note: I don't count pulling 5-star standard characters as losses if pulled from the standard banner, nor do I think getting a 50-50 loss character is bad since there are technically no bad characters, just bad builds)
Players just hate characters that show even the tiniest slight of emotion and personality.
Just look at the most simped ones, they're mostly monotone or bland

I can’t believe you don’t use the map glitch for spinning claymore users. Start spin, open/close map, spin forever.
What I dont like is that dori back step on her skill because the elemental infusion time is reduced because i will need to dash everytime. But I also hate any character that back steps on attack.
I got my first 36* in the abyss with c6 Dori in my team. Granted, maybe I didnt need her, Tighnari absolutely carried, but now Im determined on building her fully xD

Dori's personality and design are so fun. It's a welcome break from the "sexy super model" and "a literal child" archetypes that predominate. Just a shame that her kit kinda blows without some very specific uses for it, or outright C6-ing her.
I don't understand hate in the direction of Dori - it seems to be a normal character, and beautiful, and interesting skills, and a Genie with energy recovery is generally cool! With it, a bunch of assemblies related to this Genie can be assembled. It is very multidirectional, as for me! It's a pity I won't have time to get it... There are only 2 days until the end of her banner!
I wound up building Dori because I wanted another electro healer for spiral abyss. I'm probably never using her again but now I want to.

I built dori for abyss 3.8 together with nahida, fischl and sayu(with electro gob +R5 rainslasher.) Roll and watch the enemies hps getting shredded.
After I got Dori .. she became my favourite claymore character and made her a dps
I (for some reason), along with my bestie, both love Dori so much ❤
