In 3rd grade a bully gave me a black eye and bloody nose. Like 2yrs later the Principal called my dad at work demanding that I was picked up immediately from school. The bully was laying on a stretcher crying and screaming as EMT's took him in a Ambulance to the Hospital. I had broken his arm defending myself on the playground, I was suspended for 2 or 3 days and my dad took me to Chuck-e-Cheese to celebrate.

    Drawbacks:
    10. Ideal conceal: you’ll need a conceal carry permit for this
    9. nimb: can’t even access the website for more info. Looks more like a subscription based app where you’ll have to pay for it’s service just like those old people alert buttons that they fall down and can’t get up.
    8. bolawrap: make you wonder why doesn’t the police employ this method when apprehending criminals.
    7. salt: $349, doesn’t ship to California, doesn’t say how much extra pepper rounds cost.
    6. zap: you have to get arms lengths of the attacker for this to be effective. You can get arrested for using these as brass knuckles.
    5. tiger lady: same as #6. Zap. You can diy by hammering nails in a small piece of wood ad foam in the back and cut off the nail heads.
    4. taser pulse: at $500 and taser cartridges at $30+ a piece. Don’t know if it’s costs effective
    3. yellow jacket: same as #5 and 6. Can be cumbersome trying to remove the yellow jacket from your phone when being attacked.
    2. instafire: webpage not found. You can get the ruger pepper spray with handstrap for $10 at big 5
    1. fast strike: looks like a thin cable lock I once had on my bike.

I doubt any of these would work without considerable training. There are videos on YT about armed professionals being attacked and totally incapacitated by an assailant with a knife before they even have time to get it out of the holster, let alone remove the safety and point and shoot with accuracy. Be aware to be safe is the first rule of self defence.

That bolo gun is coooool. I read a story about a guy that was almost black out drunk and at a gas station nearly falling asleep on the counter and the clerk tried to get him to not drive and called 911, he did and a half mile away ran over a woman on the sidewalk and killed her. That Bolo would have been a great way to detain him until cops arrive without legal repercussions.

  • @ericmartin1984
    @ericmartin1984 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

You need to let everyone know these items require training to be used effectively. And none are one shot stops so the risk of more aggressive attacks from the assailant in retaliation are higher. Training and preparation.

    Top tips for me:
    1- Don't be afraid on 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 ... You have good odds
2- Walk in the middle of the road ... That gives you better options
3- Make a lot of noise and try to have a strong confident voice
4- Pick something to fight with like a rock or a stick
5- Think quickly ... Inteligent can overcome
6- Know when to run ... Outnumbered like 2 or more ...
7- Know when to hide ...
8- Know when to fight for yourlife or if it is not worth it
9- Call the police or sick help
10- Try to not stay at home alone
11- Don't let precious things in home just hide them or in bank
12- Check the doors and windows before going to sleep
13- Install cameras around if you have a big house
    14- Hire a security guy
15- Make it clear that losing your life for your rights is not a bad thing ...
    16- Stay safe

Shooting would still not be an appropriate response to someone with short-range non-lethal tech.

    • @Shawn-rq4py
      @Shawn-rq4py 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Scrumple Dumple if they get close enough it would. If someone has a lethal or non lethal weapon and gets close enough that they can cause death or great bodily harm you can use lethal force to protect yourself.
This whip weapon for example could cut open your skin quickly. It could take out an eye or if hit in the neck it could sever the carotid artery and you’d bleed out before anyone could call 911.
So “short range non-lethal tech” can be deadly if used properly or by accident.
I tell you I’d rather shoot someone within a few feet of me if they had a weapon w deadly potential. But that’s a choice each person has to make.

The thing is that you still need to practice with everything on this list for it to be useful. And everything that isn’t a gun/something you shoot, that you need to for example hit someone with you need training a lot of it. For example the tiger lady or the zap you need to be able do actually hit someone with. Which if you meet someone who can fight even a little bit you probably won’t be able to hit them. So you do need probably atleast one year of boxing for it to even help you a little bit. And the fast strike think about it how much is that going to hurt someone not that much at all. I’ve seen small guys get hit with real battons from big police officers and usually it barley faces them even a bit.

The “tiger lady” claws can in fact kill someone. If they were to be hit in the neck and hit their artery they could bleed out very fast. It doesn’t take much because the artery is fairly exposed in the neck. And most likely to be hit as the face/next will be a primary target or even hit by accident. So don’t say it isn’t a deadly weapon.

No batteries required or no priming required. All piezo powered.

Looks like Bolawrap is doing VERY well. Police have used it successfully and are carrying it in U.S., Canada and the U.K. Painless, effective take down and preferrable to a Taser according to Police testing. Putting a laser on pepper spray was probably the smartest idea Sabre has come up with yet, as that's it's downfall, accuracy and distance. Putting a flashlight, or laser or both is a great idea, flashlights are a valuable tactical tool.

If you carry a weapon and are not fully trained to use it and identify when a weapon is needed, it can be used against you.
