Olympic fencing is for points. Sport only. Fencing 300 years ago, fencing was for combat and included often a long dagger in backup, low kicks, bumps and many other tools in the toolbox. Sportified combat arts get rid of the real violent and nitty gritty of the art.

The way they're jumping at each other's blades in olympic fencing I'd say they got rid of a bit too much

That's some lovely fencing, but what's the need for such a negative title?

Kyle is trying to vex me. What they are using in the video is called an epee.
The epee is a modern sporting version of the French dueling sword or épée de combat. It was used throughout the 19th century and well into the 20th century in the settling of private quarrels. It is a thrusting weapon designed and used for the specific purpose of dueling.
Being a primarily thrusting weapon, it is not considered edged. Being only pointed, there are no cuts or slicing with the epee.
What's being depicted in Kyle's video are techniques derived from a 16th century rapier combat manual. This system includes libral use of the edge and combines cuts with thrusting.
The main structural difference is in blade geometry. The rapier blade is flat where the epee is triangular in cross section.

I am purely asking for curiosity, so forgive me if this will sound so ignorant. But...
Is the Title of the Video inspired by Galachad?
