As another commenter said, we don’t need tourists leaving their leis everywhere, mostly bc leis today are strung with synthetic fibers/string so it inevitably becomes waste. Harmful waste at that. Destructive to the environment, endangering plant and animal life. Traditionally, lei(s) were strung together by twisting vines or braiding string like fibers together and adding natural foliage on for adornment.
