He's getting better at endless after starting to grind out rom hacks again. For a time some months ago it felt like he wasn't that into SMM2 and was stagnated. Rom hacks are much harder than endless, so it's like goku training on gravity, even if the games are slightly different on their physics. And of course, the endless rng of levels; having opportunity for 1-ups and the run not throwing too many troll levels and frame/pixel perfect levels your way factors in. If he'd only get a bit more diligent towards getting 1-ups, such as collecting coins and using tricks like throwing a shell at a vertical pipe spitting enemies and waiting for the shell to go back and forth to get you 1-ups or using a shell and steps for the infinite bounce 1-up trick, he could get a lot more runs to double digits.
This must be the episode with the highest amount of well designed levels ever...also watching Ryu nail most of them in only a few trys is somehow satisfying 😅
Not only that but it was really a pretty good level. Turns out people just don't know what they're talking about, like that one guy that said the other level was luck based.

Probably because when he is figuring out a level he's thinking about how to pass each trick rather than thinking about the level as a whole... so looking at each single throw it makes for sense for him to think... I just follow the second indicator not thinking that means skipping one from the last one he followed.

That Squirrel-suit + rising launchers + treadmills level/map design was AWESOME!! Who created that? They deserve acknowledgement for certain. 😊 One of the best designs I've seen in ages.

I've been having *WAY* stronger anxiety and depression than I've had in a long, long time (IDK, maybe it's 9.11 & 9.12 -- 20th anniversary + being lonely & isolated). So... it's nice to know that at least RYU (and Tammy) is/are a success. :/

I’ve been watching some of Ryu’s old videos and you can tell he has developed his skills over time. This run just proves it. That Blood level would have ended even a 100 Mario run a few years ago.
This is the best I’ve seen him play in a long time. Idk if he just ate his vegetables and got up early on this day, but he was on such a roll. Absolutely godly plays.
I'm only half-way through the video and had to pause to appreciate the good levels on this run, especially the squirrel suit level, and the skill of the One-shot Wonder

I just watched Panga play supper expert levels and it's real easy to forget just how good Ryu is at this game. Not only at the technical side but just like figuring out some of the non-sensical things people come up with in their levels lol

These are some of the best levels I have seen, really well made and well thought out. Best run. Great video! Also the 'every other throw' or whatever it was called should have been called 'only pay attention to every other indicator' haha, I'm pretty sure that's how it worked.

I always knew Ryu was a God in SMM2 but some past vidoes didn't clearly show his skills. This run was full of skill required levels and i believe playing some Retro Mario has definitely improved his skills.

19:30, that was a COOL level. Lots of them use the gliding and higher jump, but this is the first to really dig into the cling as a cool mechanic.

This run really truly is Legendary! Those few Precision and Kaizo stages could have easily taken many talented players dozens of lives to beat.
