Ever wondered what REALLY happens at a Korean day spa? We took Beauty Trippin all the way to Koreatown in Los Angeles to experience a Korea-style bath house (also known as a “jjimjilbang”) at the Hugh Wellness Spa!!
Erin & Joslyn try out all the different themed rooms - including a steam sauna, Himalayan salt room, charcoal mud clay room, ice room, and oxygen room! - before ending with a traditional Korean BODY SCRUB. Oooof…bye bye literally every dead skin cell on our bodies!
Okay, so the "stripping down and getting your skin rubbed off by strangers" part is a little scary, but otherwise this was probably one of the BEST spa treatments we’ve gotten! Detoxifying, therapeutic, and SOOOO relaxing…

Unless that spa was cleared for them, it really isn't appropriate to yell and scream and generally be obnoxiously privileged. There is a whole different etiquette to Korean Spas. For instance, putting the salt crystals in your mouth is not appropriate. Other people need to use those rooms as well. That's not being very respectful of other people's health and wellness. Korean spas have rules about etiquette. Following those rules means respecting the culture of the Korean Spa, and respecting Korean culture in general. Behaving that way is not funny or entertaining, it's simply disrespectful. Engaging in such behavior as a regular, everyday visitor at a Korean Spa will absolutely result in your being asked to leave. They are very strict (for good reason).

You’re also supposed to pour the mugwort on your body away from the actual reservoir because other people use that, and you don’t want to anyone else’s used mugwort water on you

Just a little feedback - the audio needs to be tweaked. The music cut scenes are way too loud compared to the actual content audio i.e. when people are talking. The audio when everyone is talking either needs to be bumped up or the music (I suggest) needs to be toned down. The volume difference is too intense. It's like watching a quiet movie on television in the middle of the night and then the commercials come on and it's shaking your whole house.

I'm pretty sure I have the same one! I got it at a department store called Macy's this past May, I think. I forget what brand it is but it's probably one that would be in a lot of other department stores as well if that helps at all.

I don’t see anything wrong w/ their attitude. All I can see is friends being silly together. I went few times w/ friend in Korean Bath Houses for Body Scrubs and Massage and we act silly as well. So I think in my opinion they’re just being themselves and having fun.

I'm korean and this is super common for korean people to go to this together, my friends, my mom, and their moms all go together. The girls & boys are separate and we get nnNAAKEdddd (it's traditionally no swimsuits) . In Dallas, some popular places like this are King Spa and Spa Castle.
