Try to get that young lad on one of your TV appearances Piglet. He has real screen presence and was comfortable in front of the camera. A fine junior ambassador for the NYMR. 👍
Enjoyed this railway for 35 years. My first visit was 1986 That also became my first experience of the Deltics with a school trip. They were not even running that day but i saw them ticking over. since that day i visit about 1-4 times a year and now do many gala's. Staff are so friendly.
Hey Piglet my dad and I are big steam enthusiasts and we loved watching you on Channel Five’s tv show Steaming Around Britain the Big Steam Adventure with John Sargent and Peter Davison we have been to the NYR before but we haven’t been along the whole length of the railway up to Whitby so hopefully next time we will get visit again in the future and we would love to meet you and all the volunteers keep up with the great work you all do an amazing job of keeping Steam alive for future generations to enjoy 👍❤️🚂
Nice Footage of Piglet interviewing former NYMR Driver Terry Newman. This is a suggestion how about interviewing NYMR and WCR Driver Chris Cubitt? Chris has been volunteering on the NYMR since 1969 and one of the orginal drivers of the reopening run on May 1st 1973.
I'm 25 and I've been coming to this railway and Pickering every single year ever since I was born, NYMR will always be my favourite heritage line with thanks to my parents discovering the area, my favourite memory will always be travelling 60007 from Pickering to Grosmont then Grosmont to Whitby with Repton
Met Piglet last week when I visited the NYMR. He’s a cool dude and very talented. I’m glad he’s getting a lot of attention as essentially the railway’s spokesperson. I would love to volunteer on the railway if I had the time.
i saw piglet ironically briefly at grosmont saw him when i left the depot shed then as he emerged with a smile on his face out of the MPD while me and a mate were talking to a volunteer saw Lucie keeping the S15 company ! was when i visited for the gala witch was fun and made me appreciate the lines volunteers more including piglet
When I visited from 100 miles away, last year, they set fire to their own lineside and then left people stranded at Grosmont for 4 hours, before rescue back to Pickering. 😭
Hazard of coal fired engines spitting out sparks. Fires a big hazard especially in dry conditions. Watched the programme and the 2021 heatwave. Moors dry as a tinderbox
Piglet’s become an NYMR icon And I’m loving it ! 😂
Missed ya mate. The world needs more Piglet
Yes!

Superb video. Piglet really is an ambassador for the NYMR. Enthusiasm is contagious!
Strong British culture and heritage. It must go on and on and on!
My favourite railway NYMR forever. If only I was nearer to volunteer. One day maybe. Nice one Piglet.

I absolutely loved the various TV shows they did, all the volunteers clearly love what they do
Love them. How did he get a nickname like piglet?😊. Dirty polluting things but rich in history and nostalgia
I loved the quiz and Jacks enthusiasm.
