Today i finished reading this book and I just discovered Ned's death, like the idiot that I am, and terribly mourning for his loss that was due 4 years ago. I am so heartbroken right now knowing that the author himself never held on to his anchor while the character he made did. I feel like this is the epitome of irony. What a great tragic loss.
Saw this as a kid who had spent a lot of time in a psyche ward. Liked it a lot and it made me feel more comfortable with myself and my experiences with depression as a 13 year old
At first I was like "oh god, he's depressed, he won't be at the end, why the hell should I watch this, it'll just make me jealous" ... but i'm glad I did, becouse this film is mind blowing. Power of this movie isn't in storyline twists, in punchy jokes, in big romance, nope non of that's included. 90% of people, the healthy ones, will be bored to death. The power of the story is in extreme acuracy, in astonishingly detailed relatability for that 10% of messed up ones. It gives hope by showing you that the mess in your head isn't unique to you at all. It's actually quite common and it can be defeated at the end. The plot is one big "don't give up" message. And that's just right. I love this movie since first watch. I don't know if it actually saved my life back then, but it really changed it for better. Thank you, Focus Features.
This movie probably saved my life. Some friends of mine put it on one time and I ended up watching to the end. Over the next few months I became a wreck and thought "Well that looked fun," and was able to overcome the massive stigma of getting clinical help. I basically emulated the admission scene verbatim.
I saw this at the TIFF premiere Saturday night...all I can say is that everyone laughed at the right moments and the applause was wild by the end of the film. There is a lot of humour, but a lot of wisdom as well. A film celebrating the ups and downs of an unconventional teenager, it will remind you of Charlie Bartlett and Igby Goes Down (also my favourites). If you like a good quirky growing-up comedy, you'll love this one. Definitely worth seeing and will leave a smile on your face :)
Got the book gifted to me by my autism therapist when I was 12, read the shit out of that thing and its been my favorite book for years, and I think soon im gonna be able to see the movie!
This is my FAVORITE book. This book explains depression so well to people who have never had it before and can't understand it. A little bit sad that Emma Roberts is playing noelle though... She doesn't match the noelle that was in my head when reading the book. Nevertheless, I'm going to go see it :)
This preview makes me want to see this movie more than the ones I saw on tv lol but I know its cause to have a commercial this long would cost lots more money
🤖💟🌞beautiful movie that I always remember & love since it was released I'ma rewatch it today.. and it got me thinking maybe the love of my life is probably in a psychiatric ward...🌞💟🤖
Book was amazing. I just wish that the scars were more pronounced on her fce (i dnt remember her name) to convey the original lesson of the story easier. It looks good, tho!
@otakucode That's really not what the book is about. He's overly stressed due to too much homework at the high school he goes to. Part of it is reading about current events and Wall Street every night, and he doesn't, and starts getting swamped with all of the homework. So it's not saying knowing what's going on in life is unimportant. It's just another one of his problems.
I had to watch an advertisement before I could watch the advertisement.... the internet is great 👍
LMAO
I had to watch two
F the Internet
Same
😂 yeaaaahhhh

Awesome movie.
To anyone wondering what the song is, it's "Oh My God" by Ida Maria. also, to @heyyounaruto Craig smoked pot in the book, not cigarettes.
If Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden directed a tech manual video, it would be worth watching.
I have picked up this book a million times and I never bought it. I think I'm going to get it now. The movie looks awesome! :)
I loved the book.
I love this book. I hope the movie is just as good
I read this book, liked it, but I never thought for a second it would become a movie.

1 OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ. IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE THE Same thing as the book...... oh well........ looks kinda good.
