Really interesting to have a different character as the Platinum (especially with a whole brand new headsculpt, (unlike Starfire and Blackfire). I honestly just think they didn't know what else to do with the Platinum, since all the Collector's Edtions have a Platinum version. I don't know much about Dr. Tyme, but absolutely love Clock King as a character and man did McFarlane nail it! The headsculpt and colors used are PERFECT! Can't get enough of these, weird, wacky fun villains (especially the super classic Retro ones) My only complaint is the lack of extra hands (especially with the regular version). Definitely, would've made such an already fun and expressive character so much more so.
I think the higher prices are since a lot less of these are being made. I never heard of this character before. I don’t remember seeing him on Batman the animated series.
Clock King appears but in a more realistic attire, more like a business suit attire alongside a bowling hat to match... the distinctive feature was his Clock-wise sunglasses 👓!!!*
Am I alone in finding the incorrect usage of the term “buck” to be maddening? It’s so annoyingly common in the action figure collecting world that I suppose it’s a lost cause and we’ll never get that genie back in the bottle. But for anyone who cares about accuracy and word meanings… in the production of action figures, a “buck” is a block of material of specific dimensions around which the prototype was sculpted. (Nowadays, when so much initial design is done on a computer, the “buck” is really just that set of dimensions.) It is too often used now to refer to a reused body sculpt. And I get it - it would be nice to have a shorthand term for “reused body sculpt.” (Why not “mold,” though? I mean… that’s the thing that is actually being [mostly] reused?) Some in the community have been trying to stamp out this fire for over twenty years now. Okay, pedantic rant over.
@@nerdbot37 this is all extremely interesting and educational but I think also that words develop meanings over time depending on their usage. No doubt that “buck” is now a colloquial term to refer to a body sculpt. Time to accept it and move on, for your sanity’s sake 😂
I love that the lesser known characters are given spotlight.
Also love that Clock King famous time belt, A Waist of Time! (jk)
That sculpted strap line is actually from the Catman buck
@@MadCaddyStandard haha yes I realize this at the end of the video when I do the comparisons 😂 I was very slow
@@DCMultiCollector Ah yeah, I've just got to the end! lol Nice review - wasn't interested in this but after looking, that Dr Tyme looks great!
Great review! I had no idea the platinum variant was actually a different character, might have to pick that one up as well now 😅
I'm rewatching your video because mines are finally coming from Amazon this Wednesday (Hopefully)
@@nybackyardlegend4 fingers crossed brother!
You need to look up Black Hole & Pentagon from Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc. You'll totally love the character designs of that anime.
Added to my list!!

He was on BTAS but he looks completely different and has an original name. Google him, you may remember. Very different look for Clock King!
@@DCMultiCollector oki Doki, Sir!!!*
