Klag Bay And Orcas - Chichagof Island, Alaska

June 25-27, 2023 - A wildlife and history bonanza. We anchored near the wharf ruins in 20'. Good hold. A brown bear fed in the back bay and 2 browns walked around the pilings. In the evening, 2 deer fed where the bear had been. Behind the partial concrete building we found a 3-room wooden building above it. Metal ore carts and rails running parallel to the shore lay from N to S through the trees. We followed them beyond the tailing pile, but couldn't locate the mine shaft. Later discovered that the shaft is to the S. Lots of large metal relics on the beach.
