Brilliant vid. To European eyes such a strange mix of makes and chassis configurations. Nice to see ERF still running, sad no Foden. I really want a job down there.
8 wheeler rigids seem de rigeur in NZ, but probably nowhere else. They used to be so in Britain in the 30s-50s. These trucks are generally v macho, dated units, nothing much of any taste or modernity. The Red 8 wheeler tanker at 16:30 seems excessively over axled/over wheeled for the short load it supports & probably vastly over engined too
Spread the load, less wear and tear on the road itself, from what I understand. NZ has a lot trucks for a small country. Anyway, I think the 8x4's look pretty cool.
@@simontaylor2319 Well thats what you call them correct only you Brits. As stated above and ignorant comments. Here in NZ we run way higher gross weights & dont have large rail corridors as you have. The law requires transport operaters to run up to 62,000 kg permited which requires certain axle configurations as to weather its a semi or rigid, hope this clarifies things. Also your chineese 6 tractor units look like shit... true story.
Awesome video I was in the grame wright mack tipper

Ignorant comment... 8 wheelers are common in NZ for a reason - axle loading laws.

Down under we drive real trucks not lorries m8
Who said anything about lorries. However you'd better inform Scania of your comment & Volvo & Man, they would probably die laughing
