    I cried all the way home from church today because of this. My husband is a believer and I am a born again believer. He doesn’t pursue God in anyway on his own. It’s so upsetting to me to see other couples at church working together in their purposes God leads them in. My husband has an avoidant personality so he avoids any sort of emotional conversation. He is one of the most loving and kind men in this world…but he tries to make up for his inability to emotionally connect with physical security and providing. We have been married for almost 9 years, he is content but I’m not.
    I love the couples at church but try to avoid going to anything other then the woman’s group because I just get so sad after being around other couples who both pursue God as I do alone.
    Suffering like this causes depression and a deep longing for something I know I’ll never have.

      Pray for your husband and know that there is power in prayer when we pray in the Might name of Jesus.
      Mark 10:27
      With men it is impossible but not with God for with God all things are possible.

      @@r.n.9574 , he doesn’t go to the woman’s group with me. He doesn’t go to any church with me…he is a workaholic so he never has time and when he does he doesn’t want to go with me…I was saying I don’t like going to the other group meetings where their are couples because I feel alone and it always makes me feel sorry for myself. I see other couples who equally care about church and fellowship. The only reason he goes to church is when I tell him it’s important to me.
      He struggles with any form of intimacy with others…he has no deeper friendships. It’s like I know I’m capable of forming very deep emotional connection with people so something will always be lacking in our marriage.

      "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them"

    "God can help you change if BOTH OF YOU want change" - a very important point. One may want it and the other may not. You both may want it, but it may not have been a marriage that God put together in the first place. It takes 3 to stay married. Thank you for this video.

    I'm spirit-filled, God has taken me through much inner healing of life's hurts, I'm an intercessor-burdenbearer, with a prophetic call. And I'm single. (62y, married once-divorced once 30+ years ago). I choose to be single, and being single does not mean I'm lonely. I have an intimate relationship with God, and Christ, His Son.
    Only God can touch me in the deepest parts of my heart and satisfy any longing He might find there. A mate does not define me, God does.
    And I don't have to ask anybody if I can go shopping. Or stay out till the cows come home, at a revival or prayer meeting with others just like me. I love being single.

    The problem is what is written is not enough and many of us lack patience. Paul did not say do not be unequally yoked with other believers because that is not possible. However people can think they are a "Christian" or "Believer" and be deceived thus yoking with someone who is not a believer. When you believe there are certain character traits and characteristics that follow .. we have to take in account that we are not perfect.. when you marry you will have to long-suffer just as Adam and Eve had to and Abraham and Sarah.. but who are you involving when you are suffering?

    The word of the Lord has told us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. This applies to those who are Christians already and they are not married yet. But to thise whi come to Christ and their spouse is not saved and is not against you serving God then you have to make sure your life challenges them to follow suit without you forcing them. But if you're saved already and insist on marrying a non believer its considered disobedience before God already and you're going to suffer for it. I've seen this happening to a lot of people. But if you're in that marriage already and one gets saved before the other there's more leniency towards that marriage than when we prefer what we want and ignoring the word of God. Pastor is very right we should be very careful and transparent so we don't regret because God hates divorce and people feel like oh well I can just divorce.

    But that would mean that a believer and non-believer can also be equally yoked...I've been thinking about this subject for ages...I've seen so many Christians have different views on various Christian topics and matters of the heart...I have also seen very evil people in Churches proclaiming to be Christians...some of them for many years...so what would happen if you meet a non-believer who has the heart and mind of a Christian but has not yet met Jesus..? Wouldn't that be more of an equally yoked marriage then with a Christian believer who is problematic in actually portraying any of Gods Jesus's virtues..? I have met non-believers who have more of Jesus than some Christians do...Just a thought...why do we have to label Christians and non-Christians..? Isn't it important to display the character of Jesus in the world?

    • @elizabethdumas4147
      @elizabethdumas4147 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      How does one display the character of Jesus unless they know him? Jesus said one does not get saved by works but by accepting him into our lives. Many "Christians" are not true Christians. Many go through the motions but they don't have a relationship with Jesus. It's a heart issue versus a performance issue. It's generally the non believer that erodes the believer's faith which is why the Bible warns about being unequally yoked.

    Another scenario...You marry a believer and after some 10-20 years that believer decides to become a non-believer...has happened...Then you are stuck in that marriage...Another scenario: You as a believer marry a non-believer and that person becomes a believer...I think there might not be any security in that area of being spiritual and certainly not in a life-long marriage..

    You mention that "the bible teaching here doesn't only apply to believers marrying unbelievers."
    From what scripture have you deduced that inference from that in 2Corinthians 6:14-16 God Holy Spirit is also referring to marriages between two believers?

  • @CC-mp7id
    @CC-mp7id 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The problem is that people want to establish their own righteousness or standards beyond what the scriptures say as Paul said of Israelites at Romans 10:1-10. In his letters to the Corinthians Paul wrote to his fellow believers. At 2 Cor 6:14-18 there is nowhere where Paul says do not be unequally yoked with another believer. How would you then reconcile with verses 17-18. These are commandments of men. Paul was simply saying children of God should not be unequally yoked with children of the devil as 1 John 3:10 further says. There are no two believers who are equal spiritually hence the need to find common ground. If we establish standards beyond what the scriptures say then we are no different from rewriting the scriptures to suit our beliefs

    • @CC-mp7id

      @@daequanhardeman3908 The differentiation is not about one being spiritually more mature/active and the other less so but the first part of 2 Cor 6:14 says it. It's about one being a believer and the other being a non believer. Verses 23-24 of 1 John 3:20-24 summarises it as follows "And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us"

      I believe you missed the point. I believe the point of what the topic is about is being unequally yoked. The topic is can you be unequally yoked with a believer. It's not so much concerning the contents of that scripture in itself. Paul talks about not being unequally yoked with an unbeliever, and that is very true. But, unfortunately there are many who do not believe that this can even apply in our day-to-day life with another Christian / believer. You can be unequally yoked in a business partnership, a relationship, friendship, etc. The topic is can you be an equally yoked with another unbeliever and I believe you can. If God puts the relationship together then it is a beautiful yoking by the Lord. In today's time, you have believers that are behaving like people of the world. What I mean by that is this, they believe that they can just choose anyone that is a professed Christian in for a relationship. Some of them are doing this without consulting the Lord and that's an issue. Eleazar when sent by Abraham to go find a bride for Isaac decided to pray to God. Abraham already sent him to his house of his kindred (aka of the family/faith) to find his son a wife. So, he was going to marry within the family but Eleazar still relied on God to choose the wife that he would bring back for isaac. I believe the topic in itself should be discussed a whole lot more. The scriptures are many folds and it's not just subject to one thing. The scripture still speak today because God is the God of the living and not the dead. Hopefully this was insightful in some way. God bless you in Jesus name

      This is Pastor Mike. The best that you can do is live out a godly life in front of the unbeliever. Let them see Christ in you. Let them see the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Being married to an unbeliever can be one of the most difficult challenges in a Christian's life. Marriage is a sacred covenant that joins two people together in one flesh (Matthew 19:5). It can be very difficult for a believer and an unbeliever to live in peaceful harmony (2 Corinthians 6:14-15). If one partner becomes a Christian after the marriage, the inherent struggles of living under two different authorities quickly become apparent.
      Often Christians in this situation will look for a way out of the marriage, convinced that this is the only way to truly bring honor to God. His Word, however, says the contrary. It is very important not only to be content in our situation, but also to look for ways to bring glory to Him out of our challenging circumstances (1 Corinthians 7:17). The Bible specifically addresses those who are married to unbelievers in 1 Corinthians 7:12-14: ""If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband""
      Christians married to unbelievers will need to pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to enable them to profess Christ and live in the light of God's presence (1 John 1:7). They should seek God's transforming power to change their hearts and produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). A Christian wife is obligated to have a submissive heart, even toward her unbelieving husband (1 Peter 3:1), and she will need to remain close to God and rely on His grace to enable her to do so.
      Christians are not meant to live solitary lives; they need to find support from outside sources such as the church and Bible study groups. Being married to an unbeliever does not alter the sacredness of the relationship, so it should be the priority of every Christian to pray for his or her spouse and set a good example, allowing Christ's light to shine brightly (Philippians 2:14). May the truth found in 1 Peter 3:1-that an unbelieving spouse is "won over"-be the hope and goal of every Christian who is married to an unbeliever.

      @@caseychupinski7553 I sure can do that. So, if you look at the book of acts, chapter 1 verse number eight, you will read the last words of Jesus on earth. He told his disciples to stay in Jerusalem until they had received power from on high. Then over an acts, chapter 2 you will read about what happened when 120 of them were gathered in the upper room for prayer. Acts 1:8 tells us why they were baptized in the Holy Spirit-for boldness in witnessing. That’s it. It happened again in Acts 10 and 19. Google and read about the Pentecostal revival that began at the beginning of the 20th century…primarily at Azusa street in Los Angeles. The preacher was William J Seymour. The General Council of the Assemblies of God was birthed out of that revival. I do not doubt that you read somewhere that you need this to be saved. Yes, their are others out like that. Recently, I learned that the United Pentecostal International church believes that. We are the original A/G and largest of all Pentecostal groups. So yeah, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit still happens today AFTER salvation. And yes, the initial physical is speaking in an unknown language…that is, unknown to the person speaking. When the 120 came out of the upper room they were speaking 15 different languages. The visitors in Jerusalem for the Feast of Pentecost heard their native languages but the people speaking them were of Galilee. It was a sign to them that something supernatural had happened to those believers.

    Why is it so important for so many TH-cam videos to try to be entertaining by having music going while teaching/explaining something? I know you can only answer for your channel, so please let me know why YOU do it. Is that how your church conducts the sermons too?
    This may seem overly critical, but I'm just getting so frustrated by the number of videos that, when I click on those that look interesting, I'm inundated with music (some is more background than others). I know it's not your fault that lots of other channels do the same thing, but please don't just do what everyone else is doing. If I want to listen to music, I'll search for music videos. If you want to give a message, don't cover it up with distracting music. PLEASE.
