Love the channel! I think it would be cool, if possible, to talk with the players pre game and also during side boarding to get their ideas of the matchup. Make it much more interactive with the players so we can get a glimpse into the minds of the great magic players. Just a thought!
That would be awesome, hopefully the Patreon and channel in general can keep growing and we can up the production. Btw, when live streaming, when possible we invite the players from time to time after the match.
Thank you for posting this match, Timmy. I am surprised that I don't see more Robots vs. The Deck matches. They are both strong decks, but a quick search shows on a few videos of the matchup.
I guess there are a lot of match-ups between Robots and UWx decks. That's really the trend at the moment. The Deck is not seeing that much play lately, but it always comes back :)
I've watched a few of these now and WOW! Great coverage, awesome decks. Have to wonder if proxies are allowed though? Some of these decks look be worth tens of thousands just from the inclusion of power alone. Wild so many people are just casually shuffling that much in cardboard right next to their drinks.
Thanks @levethix 🙌 No proxies, but I do believe you can play with CE and IE in this event. I ususally have the rules and re-print policy listed in the vid's description.
So checking in with Brian Weissman on his new channel, he runs more black sources (like Scrubland over just plains), runs 2 The Abyss, and has 4x Hypnotic Specter on the sideboard.
At 10:23, I believe the left player probably should have considered shooting the left player for 2 and then shooting his Triskelion for 1. That way the robot goes to GY ready for a Twister/Recall/Regrowth, etc. It's clear the right player had to do a lot to get rid of the Triskelion so it may be worth the two point swing (shooting opp for 1 and gaining 1 life from Swords) to keep the bot.
Great commentary! Happy Martijn ended up taking the match. Really frustrating watching all the misplays round one resulting with him losing that one, but justice prevailed and the robots took it home 🍻
What a fantastic match!!! Is Workshop restricted in your format? Also, that is a popular version of The Deck in Eternal Central-based tournaments here in the USA. No creatures.
Yes, in Swedish Workshop is restricted and so is strip mine. I should probably make a new rules vid discussing the most popular rule sets, but where to begin (there are so many now) 😂
So hard to watch game 1 with so many errors by the deck player with his dices…in game 1 should’ve won the robot player by far…I think the game ended with 4 too many life points for the deck
Game 2 on the rewind from the braingeyser - deck player didn’t add back the life he paid to use the city of brass. Would have stayed alive one more turn
You can find all the matches of this tournament in the UTC V playlist, th-cam.com/play/PLsGeV_wxUkUbE_Xf7zh7Iw-tP5tPuvkin.html&si=aJ0IHF_VZ7N8NFVo

@@TimmytheSorcerer That's wild! Very cool to see.

He had a great run at the tournament
Great content man. I believe The Deck player had a pint too many lol.
🙌
UW Robots was nothing but pressure in Games 2 & 3. Card draw and creature aggression are the ways to answer the Deck. Great commentary as always.
Very true, still we have seen the deck win so many events despite more and more players playing aggressive brews.
What are those artifacts in UW Robot's sideboard?
City in a Bottle, anti Arabian Nights tech.

Luckily it didn’t effect the outcome in g1.
@@TimmytheSorcerer It did effect game’s 1 outcome…luckily it didn’t effect the match outcome 😉
Missed a city of brass and took too few damage from trisk. One time also went from 3 on his die to 4, when should have moved it to 2..
How do these guys afford these cards yeesh 😬 I love these vintage matches
The cardpool never changes, that helps 👌
THE deck ! 🤘🦁🤘

Ah i need to find some people to play with in Miami...
