I think the deterioration in the movies felt more majestic and nice as all of that which voldemort was made of after his return was basically, Harry's blood, Rat's hand, i mean wormtails hand and some other stuff also including his soul, after the horcruxes keeping the parts of his soul were broken, Voldemort also evaporated. It my opinion on the movie scene.
I feel that the battle should have ended with Harry's voice, saying "And there he was, nothing but an empty shell of a tainted man, the lifeless and soulless maimed and broken body of Tom Riddle." and then we fade back to present where Harry was telling everything to his three kids. It would have hit harder to me, knowing Harry knew, still remembered every detail from his past, because it was permanently traumatizing.
fun fact: that green spell ron casted at the snake was avada kedavra so the golden trio used all three of the unforgivable curses can still didn't go to azkaban
