I know I'm a few years late to reply to this but you are absolutely right. It's way, way better than TV shows we're seeing today. I rather watch these shorts every night than watching today's TV series.
A short from the 1950's, footage from the 1940's, a script from the 1930's and racial stereotypes from the 1920's and beyond! Jules White at his time-traveling finest.
Andy Clyde plays Frank Myers on the Andy Griffith show 1961 being thrown out of his house for not paying taxes.great great granddad bought $100 bond with confederate $ and poses in photo with General Robert E Lee
itiswhatitain't, and itain'twhatitis-Shemp was dead by the time this short was released. It was released on the one year anniversary of his death of a massive heart attack. The nightshirt bandit was played by Joe Palma, who was the Fake Shemp in four Three Stooges remakes of earlier shorts.
HILARIOUS! These old comedy shorts are waaaaay funnier than most of todays so called sit coms! :)

The worlds needs MORE Andy Clyde.
Love these good old slapstick comedies.
That false chair gag never gets old.
Andy Clyde plays Cully Wilson on the TV Show Lassie. He's really funny in that role.
Dudley Dickerson is a joy to watch, as always.
I like both Andy Clyde and Charley Chase's versions of this short. They both did a good performance in their own telling of the story
these have every pratt fall stunts ever three stooges plus. man they worked hard on these stunts plenty for all.
Some of these 50s Columbia shorts are like Stock Footage Chinese Boxes. From '56 to '48 to '38 and back!

Much better material than the other two versions.
I know Chase did this but who's the other person who also did this?
Symona Boniface (SP?) of Three Stooges fame
ron carey-How did Symona Boniface appear in this short considering she died in 1950, unless it was filmed long before this?
