In this video I compare my favorite amps to see which needs to be sold!!! Matchless chieftain Fender da"ville 410 Mesa Mark I Morgan MVP35 (Plexi) Brown Note D'lite 88
I only have two amps... a tiny Vox that takes pedals perfectly for the way I play, and my Hayden, which can't take anything spicier than a light-medium overdrive but sounds GORGEOUS just by itself
you just have a diversity behind you. I belive too that Matchless has a lot of character which is a truly a great thing. Would keep it 100%, would even consider adding el84 amp and a true high gain(Bogner does it ). i was thinking of buying chieftain too instead i bought 2 dr.z EZG50 and Maz38 reverb.... i feel at some point i will add a matchless
You are the reason i might buy that fender 410 blues deville tweed, i found one near my city with 4 eminence alnico blue is made in mexico . Do you still suggest me ? I'll usually play as a pedal platform amp with low volumes at home and when i'll get the chance i'll bring for small venue gigs. The tone that i enjoy playing for myself is usually a Les Paul with fuzz-od(just as a boost with eq)-delay(just a pinch). I like warm tones usually i do play blues and hard rock. The fuzz is diy kit it'so sweet no acid at all it's like a Ram's head 73 with tone cap mod, the od is a crayon of ehx got some nice features with the eq and it's very bluesy, and delay is a DD3 pretty classic. Hope you may help me thanks. And if you do think there would be better choice i am free to learn them. Sorry for the long text !! Ps. i love tweed style amps Thanks for your time and the quality of your contenets i like them so much ! Keep going really nice quality !!
Thanks so much for watching. Alnico blues are incredible speakers so that sounds like a solid amp. I think you'll love it. It really does take pedals amazingly. I'm using it tonight on my gig.
I'd need to be in the room to make a call. If you want to get rid of one why not the Amp that's easiest to buy again if you change your mind? The Mesa sounded good.
@@guitartris8455 As i type this i just bought a Matchless DC30 from CME, it's taken a long time to find a new one, i will never make this mistake again...there's a reason these amps are so hard to come by. I would sell that fender if i were you. I have a mesa badlander that i will never sell, as soon as the dc30 gets here i'll sell my mesa tweed, i'm not really a fan of the 6v6 tubes and it doesn't take pedals very well. I also have a Laney l20 that is a great little amp.
@@TheIronWord I do think the fender is the looser here. I'm wondering if I should try the DC 30. The chieftain doesn't ever do it live for me. I record it and I love it... I gig it and it's one of the most uncomfortable gigs. I wonder if the DC 30 would give me more of what I'm looking for.
@@guitartris8455I notice a little more upper mids in the EL84 on the DC which cuts better and you get a bit more gain, you also get the extra channel ....It will also be about 15 lbs heavier...It's all about risk vs reward, i would buy one first before i sold that Chief. Then you can compare them firsthand and make a video on it. edited to mention the dc30 is insanely loud even at 15 watt mode.
Was waiting for video from you...greeeeeaaaat...thanks
More to come! I'm putting up today's in a little bit. And tomorrow's is gonna be a fun one.
Matchless is completely unique. Its not better or worse.
Very true. I can't bring myself to sell it no matter how much it sits unused.

Ooo I must hear this Hayden
and... interesting thing about Matchless is it is a el34 but not even close to high gain BUT has that something, brilliance kinda
Yeah I'm glad I did this comparison cause I had all but written that amp off until this video

I've got a lot of friends with that amp. It's a popular one. The maz38

That's a solid point... I could get another matchless pretty easy
Seen one video like this Chanel
All sound great... but mesa bogie sound worse
Got to say it's my favorite amp live.
Don't sell the matchless...i had one and sold it and i regret it.
This is the best comment so far! I 💯 agree. I can't sell it cause I know I will regret it!!!! It drives me crazy 🤣

@@TheIronWord That's a brilliant idea. I think I will contact matchless and see if I can get my same deal on a DC!
Best Clean - Matchless
Best with Dirt - Fender
Best for Metal - Plexi
Best overall - Fender
I'd agree to that!
